  1. I know, and my mate was mighty pissed off to hear that. I did tell him to buy a M35 but he didn't like the interior. His Series 2 C34 was by no means cheap too, cost him 2Mil yen...absolutely immaculate, grade 5, no damage history, paint was like new, volks wheels, 28,000km (extremely low for a 1999 model) and it is an Auto too so you can imagine how much a mint manual will cost. edit: you mean affordable...we know they are already popular! that's why he bought one .
  2. I gave a short list of tuned stageas in the stagea section which you can look up the shopname. Most recently this year at TAS there were 2 tuned M35...they were beautiful = mean...I will see if I can dig them up in my photo archive at home.
  3. Stageas...stageas...stageas...what do you wanna know specifically? As Justin said most of the information is online...but as I said before there isn't a very big tuning scene in Japan for Stageas. So you need to talk to the people in the know which is really only the mechanics here...no I'm not one but a mate of mine has a Neo version and we've been working through the tune for a while... You will notice the series 2 M35 just released with the new headlight configuration like the older Legacys...that's about all that has changed. edit: sorry but if you haven't heard me say yet, the M35 Stageas are the shits!!! even without a fancy kit...
  4. Stageas...stageas...stageas...what do you wanna know specifically? As Justin said most of the information is online...but as I said before there isn't a very big tuning scene in Japan for Stageas. If I'm here for another year I told Justin I will pick up a M35 they are the shits!!! You will notice the series 2 M35 just released with the new headlight configuration like the older Liberties...that's about all that has changed.
  5. clint, the Q45 ones are quite popular and cheap...even a few Evos here are running with them, but unless your looking for over 600ps. edit: just read you are looking for 600ps, so it would be the way to go.
  6. the Q45 ones are quite popular...there are a few Evos here running with them...but really unless you going for over 600ps.
  7. if you wait 8 months I know a Silver personal import that will be in the country
  8. Nothing wrong with the HKS unit, how old is your unit? Could be a stuffed solenoid, you don't expect these things to last forever. What's this about the line filter to do with spiking??? There is no relation, a Blitz unit don't use one...and we subsequently changed in a straight connector to a customer's HKS one (line filter connector are prone to crack after some time)...no problems after...cause having a filter is always better.
  9. I actually agree and prefer them to stop production altogether and come back to the car later on instead of slapping something together and the fact they are favouring the Colt platform for Rally. Other reason I don't want the Evo to be a global car at all...it should remain limited as the day it started life.
  10. I thought the BNR34 seats were a straight fit, well I didn't take a real close look at the HKS Kansai car.
  11. bit far for us kansai boys but have fun...
  12. No, but the FTO 6A12 would probably be easily modified to the same 6A12 twin turbo running in the JDM E84A VR4s I guess. The standard 6A12 TT engine makes about 250ps/31.5kgm...wouldn't be too bad in a FWD FTO.
  13. Better brake pads all round would be good enough for a street car. From what I notice reading the specs lastnight, and I guess giving it a bit around the track...IIRC HKS Kansai just changed the front to F50 Brembo calipers, rear remained standard and used project mu titan pads all round. Will look more into their handling and braking setup tonight edit: had a look at the brake setup of the cars I mentioned in the list, either better pads for mild tune or Brembos for the hi-power tuned ones...if you can afford to tune that much power you'd want to be able to stop .
  14. Not true the HKS EVC has a single solenoid stepping motor. I wouldn't recommend the Profec B so highly, the Blitz DSBC yes. Only 2 EBC I recommend is the Blitz DSBC or HKS EVC EZII. Even though the HKS has a single solenoid, what makes it control boost so well is the way the stepping motor works...like gates opening and closing.
  15. Jay, I'm sure you're all more knowledgeable than I'm in tuning the RB. I'm more a jack of all trade but master of none…knowing a little bit of this and that except for the 4G63 of course. I understand it's hard for you guys to get information on the Stagea especially when all the information is in Japanese. Since you ask, I just did a quick dig to see what I had from the years of TAS I have been attending. So here are a few brief specs to help kick start your Stagea tuning journey. I've purposely posted a good range of different power levels as not everyone wants a drag monster, it is afterall a family car . These are by no means the best these shops can tune but rather just what they have done to their Stagea demo car. I'm sure if you do a shop search you will find the full specs. Have fun guys. 16. Congratulations to you all...pioneering the Stagea way in Aust . Was having this very conversation with Justin (Rezz) as we were surprised to see how popular the Stagea is with you all. As it doesn't have have a big following here, only as popular as the GTO guys in terms of those who end up tuning them. I don't particularly fancy the C34 but have recommended a Neo version C34 to a mate of mine. Silver is always nice hey Christian
  17. Certainly alot of crazy combinations over here, but in away it's OK for them to do so inline with their wacky motorsports nature if you know what I mean. Another combo... I pity the JXZ100 here http://www.runriot.net/04-07yoru03r02a.jpg
  18. No I didn't buy it because it's still all speculations and there is no point in posting things up when others just copy . Come over any time but maybe a little busy... edit:Justin, kill it...no one reads them no I guess.
  19. I'll bet it was taken from either one or our earlier post (which we did always reference to one of the Japanese motoring magazines), or directly from one of the Japanese magazines. BTW did you have a quick squiz at BC this month at the new MARK II which will probably be called MARK X by someone :D.
  20. You want to know who set the whole drift scene in the States...??? A Japanese international student studying in New Jersey back in the 90's. He often talked to his mates back home to keep up with the local scene and read the magazine they send over...as it is the timing of the whole Japanese drift scene. The poor guy couldn't for the life of him find any SR20 Silvia etc...because no one in the States knew about them. So he was left trying to drift his Camaro I believe. Everyday and night he worked hard to master the art of drifting, he even joined a vocational automotive mechanical course so he could use the workshop to work on his car. Soon his classmates, a few Americans started to pickup and join him drifting each night. The Japanese and his American mates continued to drift for 5 years until he graduated uni and returned to Japan in the 98...I can't quite remember. At that time the whole American drifting scene started to pickup slowing in other US states. So who is this Japanese guy, his name is Atsushi "Steve" Ikeda. Justin will know who he is, though I'm sure others have claim their influence on the American following. But I believe Steve is, if not the first among the pioneers who influenced the whole up bringing of the American drift scene! Due to family commitments, Steve ended up running his father's import business but still works the Nanko docks from time to time.
  21. Carlos baby don't tell me no nothing about a V8 for the GT-R during the launch of the 6 new models last week. That dog better give me first drive, if it is true. /on a serious note thanks for that, the funniest shit I have read all week. Needed a cheer up over all the bad events happening over here recently. Should Speed need to pay for information just to get back at the keyboard warriors??? If for some reason Nissan have changed their mind and gone for a V8 for the new GT-R then they certainly feel threatened by Toyota's V6 FR Sports (Supra?) or V10 Super FR Sports model...which I'm surprised Speed haven't bothered to look into yet (pssssss tip for Speed, your not paying your mole enough money). I find the Toyota V10 concept model a very interesting car joining the growing preference for V10s by other makers. Note again, as I have mentioned before this is one reason the Nissan went for the 2.6L bettering the JZA70 1JZ just after it's release. The other reason could be their target market...are they seriously challenging something like Aston Martin? Porsche is the marque, circuit and street...and that's who they are going after. If they can de-throne the 911 = instant worldwide respect and success. A V8 will not do them any good unless they are better engine builder than Ferrari, also when their biggest market is Japan and circuit racing is where the GT-R proves they are the best. But then again they have already abandon the GT-R for JGTC, stopped using a GT-R engine - the RB26 in favour for a VQ30DETT so they could choose any engine they liked but how competitive is this V8...is it a turbo? Remember JGTC only allows NA V8s, no turbo V8s. People, I'm so tired already...do any of us really care? The next GT-R will be great but I for one and others in Japan do not wish to see a V8 in the GT-R...remember which is the primary market which influences the Skyline/GT-R
  22. This is what surprises me about you all...perhaps not you then. Your all so into the Japanese motorsports culture and their cars and think you know it really well when you actually don't! Find a photo online and just brag the shit out of it! Maybe you will sleep better tonight, knowing that most cars that wear those flares are drag racing cars! Because flares are illegal on street cars over here even though people have them.
  23. as funky said...you guys need to keep up with the ages.
  24. Sprinter got your PM, and I hope we've sorted it all out. Carlo, I know what you mean, while I don't know Nick personally. I have spoken to him a few times before he sold the place. Nick was dearly missed but he is now back more frequent which is good to see. With any forum or change in management there are always some people who can't accept how the new management runs things, this is life even within the workplace. I'll bet if ever this places changes (Christian, now I'm not saying you will ever let this place go) some members will also dislike how the new owners like things run. You can choose to leave or learn to play with their rules or allow the new owner to settle in which is how PF has weathered this and Simon (rolin7) has now left it pretty much back to how it was run before. While we lost a few old members pretty much everyone is still there...and some have come back. Server issues are all fixed up, since the hack we're upgrading and giving the place a whole new redo
  25. Nismo boy, Sprinter There are alot of users who frequent multiple forums, if your only content with one then good for you. Alot of us like to join different online communities. If you like to visit PF your welcome to, but tell me your username so perhaps I can unban you or make sure you don't get ban too quickly with that kind of attitude!
