  1. Ha personally if I may say so my car sounds great and I love it, for short gear drives just changing most of the time, but sitting on the motorway its got a solid drone from around 80km/hr up to 115km/hr which I admit gets rather annoying on long trips. The main problem for me is im looking at upgrading cars come mid next year so i'm trying to avoid spending copius amounts of money on it, and instead keep it sounding nice but staying legal. On a side note, been trying to get a decibel reading to know for sure and the guy keeps dodging me and making up excuses. not a happy chappy on that one
  2. Hey Cheers, Well im in Wellington New Zealand
  3. But also back at Mattie, I can weld and and do have access to a welder. Do you have a decent run through on here? or can you send me one on how to make your version?
  4. Ha id thought of bung silencer but 4.5" dumpy it apparently wont work, after many a phone call to many a different place the best answer Ive got is get a/another resonating chamber in there to cancel out zee loud noises escaping. So looking at doing this, only problem now is time which is why i just wanted the temp solution so i can solve it properly further down the track but get my car back and legal to drive now
  5. Cheers Mattie, Pretty much exactly what I was looking for!
  6. Ha and this my friends is why I come here first. Yes id love a temporary solution to keep it loud. but if thats just not going to happen I need to find the next best solution to put into action. So if it is too loud. What next? what is involved in making it quieter? Im not saying I would do it myself, but its nice to know whats involved
  7. Sorry long time no reply, Essentially, its there and I found it and I had wired correctly even, the one thing that went wrong is the wire stretched inside the plastic and diconnected, I reconnnected it with solder to keep it all together, works like a dream now.
  8. Ha its just I like my loud exhaust, legality is an obvious issue but Id like to be able to revert back to as is. Essentially I suppose I am looking for a Temporary solution. Im afraid I made the mistake of going to a place that did not have a bar of my car. Talking to one of my mates though he said it could be worth in future going to a high class WOF place (or well as high class as they get) find out major problems if any and then head out to a cheapo one to get the pass. thoughts?
  9. Thats what the first garage thought when I had to replace my front Diff. Came on here and got told my car didnt have it? I had no clue so I just sort of rolled along with that answer
  10. Right once again my car has plagued me with problems, Ive recently not been given a warrant of fitness due to the loudness of my exhaust and need it checked. Anyone know an easy way to text it and get it passed? or if it does fail for being too loud, can anyone think of a better way to trick a pass or get a pass with a muffler. The only way I can think of if it fails is making a slip joint and putting the old muffler on for the wof and then getting my dumpy back on afterwards. Other than this any cheap ideas? can you get cheap silencers for dumpys? PS im in NZ CHEEERS =]
  11. Well for anyone out there wanting to know, I am an idiot. After recently buying a set of 4 brand new tyres and putting them onto my car, the problem has solved. When I bought the car it had 215 65 R15 at the front and then 205 65 R15 at the back. I bought 4 205 65 R15's and now that theyre all even no slip light, no handling problems, no weird noise, no pull, nothing. it works like a normal car
  12. Right I hit the limiter, or at the very least there was a definite stop to acceleration and id been going up past my 180km/hr speedo for a bit. What exactly is the cut off speed? preety interested to find out how fast it worked out to be. And after actually reading through the post ive now hit page 2 and realised the answer is within, thank you for your knowledge. I want to go faster but I dont want to cut the limiter and risk engine going bye bye. So i think Ill continue saving up for turbo and do it right
  13. I agree with this, My gear is in no way the quality as above but I still had it running the way I wanted and it all went well... (may have powered the rear speakers up aswell though) This was however untill some of my mates thought theyd start cracking around my sounds and I have got it to sound the same =[ and rears just muffle and crackle around at high volume. With gear in general though (again i've probably got a lot lower quality gear than most people) but if they have a performance series or competition series I myself have found its worth the money investing in it. Like the man said though, find an audio store that knows what theyre talking about and listen to it so you find what you want
  14. Mate your car is sick!!!! love the colour spoiler wheels and all! What are the wheels and dimensions?
  15. Ha scratch that, found it. good fun to be had!
  16. My thoughts exactly, allthough after looking at it for a while theyre coll in a different sort of way
  17. Damn that looks nice!
  18. Ha yea I did the same didn't have money and just bought a cheap one, Runs fine I just want more I'll be honest im not sure what RWC is? I'm an ex aussie in NZ and we have the, if it runs and goes it gets registered im pretty sure. I do like the idea of buying a mostly modified car and adding my touch to it though
  19. Well ideally im not looking for a GTR i just want something like a 97 or 98 R33. If i bought It I just want it to be turbo with reasonable k's but i figure build it is buy a beater and replace its engine etc
  20. Ive been having a a fair look at turbo-ing my car recently and all the ways in which to do it. And then I thought along the lines of a new car and thought id get peoples opinions on whether its best to Start with a turbd skyline or get a rolling shell and build it up? Id eventually be looking to replace most stock parts with slightly better options because i'd like to be fast but not become a track demon or anything. What are peoples thoughts on it? also would be good to get a perspective through cost and then if cost wasn't an issue? Cheers!
  21. Ha wow . . . perfect. Cheers boss
  22. haha yer ok i also did that i do indeed allready have a GTS4 RB25DE looking to turbo it
  23. Im rocking a JVC headunit with usb control JVC 800W Amp and some JVC 6x9's in the back. They go hard, definitely 10x better than the sony I have up front. Also avoid fusion unless you get high performance range, but even then they cant handle much power going through them ( had them as my old 6x9's). Fusion for subs though i can vouch for =]
  24. My mate bought the Clarion a couple weeks ago and its going good, I reckon you would be safe with that choice!
  25. Il be honest I may have skipped through most pages, but is this still going to work all the same for 4wd skyline?
