  1. where in melbourne are you? wouldn't mind checking ya beast out! Andrew
  2. sh1t really? i thought you'd be looking at $3k... are you using standard calipers? got any pics of them? not sure about what to use on the back. You could look at some apexi brake pads i think JMS have them for $340 (and a set for the front for $330) http://www.japanesemotorsport.com.au/partsinstock2.htm Cheers, Andrew
  3. ha... i assumed you were in melbourne as merli said he'd love to make a trip down. I might be in Adelaide over the holidays. Could pay a visit to JMS, and i have a mate who lives there. Cheers, Andrew
  4. may as well go green stuff all round. how much did the rotors set you back (if you don't mind me asking). I wouldn't mind upgrading my brakes. Brake Fade is a scary thing when a parked car is approaching!
  5. Whatsisname, where in melbourne are you? cos i'm in melbourne as well. Wouldn't mind coming to check out your car and have a chat about computers and who you get to tune your car. Cheers, Andrew
  6. sly33... the power fc is 400rpm... i just checked the magazine. It must have stuffed up on the scan so it looks like 480rpm. I'll do some checking around as well. I'm in Melbourne, anyone know some good places to get PowerFC or Microtech tuned? i'd like to go have a chat to them. Thanks Andrew
  7. nah... i definantly don't flog it when it's warming up... i shift under 2500rpm... and sometimes if it's downhill i'll shift from 1st to 3rd I'm up for a new clutch soon so i'll chuck in some Redline Shockproof trans oil.
  8. so why use MAP if Airflow Meter is more accurate? i understand that you remove the AFM restriction, but surely the difference between restriction and loss of accuracy would only be noticable in high HP applications... oh ok... cos i've got a Zoom magazine that lists all the computers and their features in a table so you can see what they have. I've chucked it up on my webspace... http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/r33/ecu.jpg The Microtech says there is no Temp Comp Lambda, but someone says there is... perhaps they put it in the LT12 Andrew
  9. I'm a little new to ECU's etc, so at the end of the day, what does more tuning/load points give you? where are you going to see the results? and what does this mean the tuner can do? Thanks Andrew
  10. bugger... i get crunchies into second when the car is cold as well. Does that mean my synchro's are ****ed? a mate of mine said his gear box was really notchy, and he just had redline shockproof put into his gearbox and he said it made a huge difference. It's got smooth changes now. I'll be paying the $110+ for this to go in when i change my clutch soon. -- Andrew
  11. hmmm... sh1t... what are the chances of tuning a car with a HKS VPC and a Power FC? keeping the VPC saves me from having to get an AFM and piping made up. Or would the extra time on the dyno to make it work cost as much as a 300ZX AFM and piping? -- Andrew
  12. check ya plugs, if they are old, get new ones. If they look pretty good then check the gaps, and make them 0.8-0.9 (try 0.9, if it's still there try 0.8) if they are already gapped to 0.8 then ****, i dunno! -- Andrew
  13. this is a sweet thread... exactly the dilemma i'm having. Also, what is the difference between the LT12 and the MTX12? I've got a HKS VPC and FCONV, but no one in Melbourne to tune it. So i was thinking of the Microtech or Power FC, thing is if i go the Power FC i'll have to get an Airflow Meter so that will add to the cost another $300 or so. I've discussed this with meggala before, but am also interested in what others have experience. But i'm still liking the sound of the power fc just cos it's tried and true. probably cost me an extra $1000 though, as i'd have to get piping made for the AFM. I don't like the sound of 100km a tank drop in fuel economy. Is that a side effect of the MAP instead of the AFM setup? or does it just relate to the microtech? I need to get mine sorted out asap as i need to get it tuned. it pisses out black smoke when i boot it :eek1: Thanks Andrew
  14. Well i live in Camberwell. That white Skyline Viper180 saw might have been me. I took my dad for a spin. Only had it a couple of weeks too
  15. Was it a White Skyline?? Andrew
  16. How much do they normally sell for? as i'm in the market for one and can get one for $750. I'm not sure if it's a genuine one but it's listed as a Nismo Adjustable Wing. Thanks Andrew
