Thanks guys. I actually went with the 2nd hand option. Thought I would give it a try I got Pirelli PZero's Rosso's for the front 255 X 18 X 40 and Michelin Pilot Sport for the rear (same size) All with 90% thread on them for $400 the lot fitted. I'll let you know if I come across any issues with them.

That sounds awesome !! I'll give them a call tomorrow. Cheers

Howdy! I am after 4 new tyres for my line. Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice. These are the tyres I have been looking at: Size: 18 X 265 X 35 - Bridgestone S03's $500/tyre - Hankook K104 $275/tyre - Kuhmo KU19 $365/tyre Now I know the S03's are better but are they twice as good as the Hankooks for instance. The main use is for day to day use maybe a track day here and there. I am after a good all season tyre that will last me approx. 20,000kms If anyone has a good contact to get cheaper tyres please pass on the details Thanks

Me and my younger brother are not fond of spiders Well when we were a younger whenever he use to cheese me off I would leave a note for him " Saw a Medium Size Spider on your wall in your room " So he would obviously come home read the note and check for this spider which never existed. So I would come back and find him cleaning his entire room as he could not possible sleep knowing there is a Spider lurking in his room Good to get your younger Brother to clean his room hehe..

I had a Series 6 RX7 prior to my current R33 GTR. Well what can I say, totally different type of cars. The RX7 is sexier and gets more looks - no doubt! The RX7 is rarer and I keep on getting people asking me what it is. The handling is better than the GTR in the dry. In the wet forget about driving it, leave it in the garage. The RX7 can only fit 2 people even in the 4 seater model. You will struggle to fit into the driver seat if you are over 6ft. The Rotary engine is smoother and when it is tuned right it is the most awesome thing to drive. It is lighter and has a unique sound when you give it some revs. Now I bought a R33 GTR, one because Ive always wanted one and two it is more practical where you can seat 4 ppl comfortably, it is more reliable and much better to drive in the wet. The GTR drinks a little less juice but only just. Insurance is about the same. Let me know your decision.

Does anyone have any information and pictures of the Limited Edition Lemans R33 GTR (Blue). Its apparently a light weight model and quite rare.

I have driven both the RX8 and 350z. 350z ==== I wasn't really impressed with the styling nor the lack of boot space. Oh and the Blind Spot when changing lanes and reverse parking. On the other hand I did like the European feel such as the windows going up after you shut the doors (like the BMWs) and the heated seats. It handled very well and was much better after 100km/hr. RX8 === Coming from a S6 RX7 I was still very impressed with the smoothness of the RX8. The Styling and Quality of the Interior was great for a Jap car. There was only 1 down fall. It was gutless. I know it is NA but still ... I had an RX8 on deposit but changed my mind for a R33 GTR.

I live in Knox and go there every week. I have been pulled over a couple of times but most of the Police have been good. I would make a formal complaint as there seems to be a lot of issues with this particular police officer.

Where can I find insurance for my import?
beefy replied to PranK's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Shannons don't only deal with Classic Cars. They only insure enthuiasts. I can only speak for Victoria but Shannons have been looking after most of the GTCC Members for the last year or so. Most of the GTCC Members are over 25 though. However I know of one member that did get insurance for his 03 STI and he is only 21 or 22. So it all depends if you are an enthuiast. They even insured my wifes Toyota Seca under my policy. Give Shannons a try. Highly recommend them -
Geez what an ordeal. Glad you're back on the road.

Personally I would go the GT-R hence the reason why i have one. But it isn't easy to find a good one these days. It took me almost a Year to find mine and I can tell you, good R33 GT-R's are rare from what I have seen. Plus it costs money to get the GT-R's checked out (properly). It cost me $500 to check out 3 that I was interested in. 2 got bad reports. The GT-T being newer I would say there are many more good examples to chose from. I can't speak much about the GT-T but GT-R's are not easy to sell when it comes time to move on. They are both rare but I do see more R34 GT-T's than R33 GT-R's in Victoria. For yourself I would go the GT-T. Its cheaper to maintain, Insurance should be cheaper and it is a good reliable car plus it is big step up for yourself already. Maybe GT-R next? There are many that rush into buying a GT-R and selling it soon after realising they cant afford to maintain it as it has the running costs of a 100k car. And if something goes wrong ... yikes (big bucks can be expected) But for me I really wanted one and took the risk. If you do decide to go GT-R let me know I might be able to help you with Insurance and tips to finding a good one. All the best.

Just be careful even if you manage to pick up a GT-R for under 40k, it still has the running costs of a 130k motor car. I have seen quite a few GT-R's under 40k. Majority of them have had some sort of accident history. The servicing costs isn't bad but its more if something goes wrong. Engine Rebuilds, Gearboxes.. yikes!!. Make sure you get it checked out and even go further by getting a 2nd opinion. Try and get a GT-R where the Instrument cluster is original. All Clusters that have been modified are most likely non-original kms.

I'll tag along for the Cruise. Andrew, hope you get your car back soon mate.

I would go for the 99 rex for sure. I owned a 99 rex, very reliable and great value for money. I believe you can get a 99 rex for low 20's now. Let us know what you go for. Another deciding factor may be insurance. Ring them up and get a quote for both.

Bepo - Great! I am glad you were able to catch them. I spoke to the Owner's Son and he sends his deepest apologies and agrees that a document recording the speedometer is acceptable but he assures me the keys will not be left in a common area but locked in a safe place. He has also offered me some complimentary work which I turned down.

GroundRun - I recommend Ice mate.
