  1. Noted, thanks. My Skyline is basically a track car 80% of the time.
  2. If you're going around a hairpin is the car really getting the air it needs while the are fans off? I'm glad it works for you but I'll probably have them completely controlled via temp and Haltech. I may try your setup at one point or another, thanks.
  3. I have a timer installed so I'll just set the time appropriately. Water still flows through the engine even though the water pump if off, right? Wouldn't the constant off and on at the track be bad? The car isn't consistently running above 60, right? Im setting my car up for track usage as well but I at least want my puller fan to be running if my engine is hot.
  4. I concur. The fans really need to be dependant on the water temperature. I'm going to control them via my Haltech. My only concern its that my fans will turn off when the Haltech turns off.
  5. The clutch fan is not in my car's future. I'm sticking to electric fans. My reason is this: 1) Clutch fan is big and I don't have much bay room 2) IMO,properly configured thermo fans can performance equally as good 3) Clutch fans don't cool the fluid in the radiator as well as a pusher fan attached directly on a radiator would 4) Small response gains from electric fans are worth it even though my electrical system (alternator) takes a hit 5) My Haltech can control the electric fans I'm sure there's a list of PROs to the clutch fan but the above list really matches my needs.
  6. Perfect reply, thanks. I didn't consider having the fans dependent on the speed as well. Are you saying that the car automatically turns off and on the fans via it's speed sensor? I think my current configuration (from the previous owner) has the puller fan - which replaced the clutch fan and is behind the radiator - on ALL the time. It never turns off.
  7. Not quite done reading so I apologize if my question was answered already: What is the best thermo fan configuration (I realize that proper shrouds are very import)? I removed the clutch fan off my RB26. Currently, I only have a puller that activates when the ignition is on. It's wired from the condenser (overheat fan). Hence, the condenser fan doesn't work at all. I'm thinking about having my Haltech control two fans: 1 puller and 1 pusher. Is that best best thermo fan combo I can do?
  8. I know it's old but great info on this thread.
  9. I wanna see where this goes. I experience occasional overheating in traffic. Found this: http://forums.nicoclub.com/omg-my-rb-is-overheating-writeup-t262601.html I have a built RB26 in my GTT. Does anyone know if the stock clutch fan for a RB26 will fit?
  10. I feel awkward bumping such an old thread but (instead of creating a new thread) is there any new recommendations for a ER34 5 years later?
  11. Hmmm, can't edit my post. I just realized that the answer is here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/366982-hr34hnr34-same-coilovers-as-ecr33/page__view__findpost__p__5861170
  12. Anyone know if BNR34 coilovers will fit onto a ER34?
  13. Sorry for bumping this old thread but I create new threads for whatever reason. Anyone know if 34-R coilovers and/or suspension bits fit on a GTT(coupe)?
  14. My battery died so I won't be able to test the fans until sometime tomorrow. So, if I understand it right. When I do the A/C diagnostic, the 41-47 portion should active the A/C blower?
  15. Daniel, Did you ever get that issue resolved? I think I'm experiencing the same thing you are.
  16. I don't think this can be done on a R34. The 'blower' fuse is located inside the cabin. Can someone with a R34 comment on this?
  17. Any updates??
  18. Yo, man. My GTT is basically a RWD GTR. 600rwhp with a RB26DETT transformed to a RB27DET and a GTR tranny mounted underneath. I NEEDED the MFD to monitor my car's vitals signs so I can help avoid trips to the Skyline doctor.
  19. Alright, finally done. It took me a couple of days per my battery dying and a couple blown fuses. I received a lot of help from a dude named Dan on GTROC: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/123413-r34-mfd-into-r33.html and a dude named Bala from Malaysia: http://nissanskylineer34.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html I didn't want the whole install to be very messy so I bought some items from a local electronics store and a Radio Shack. GTR harness (MFD unit and cover) from: http://www.jdmautolink.com/ GTR harness after I removed the wires I needed: Electrical bits - 18g wire (green, red, black), harness plugs, crimper, taps, etc: I plugged the wires into 4 (male/female) harness endings after I tested the MFD. New harness made with wires labelled for future reference: I don't have a picture of the functioning MFD but you get the idea. I tapped into the wires that the MFD needed to function properly and labelled them as well. A few sensors still aren't working. For example, my MFD isn't reading INJECTOR but my Apex AVC-R is. Ironically, they're both plugged into the SAME ECU wire. I'll assess that some other weekend.

  21. subscribed. I have a MFD inbound for my GTT.
  22. I apologize about the thread jack but search brought me here. I have a AEM series 1 in my R34 and I'm replacing it with the Haltech PP unit. I know Haltech has a lot of capabilities but how do I unlock it's features? In other words, if it can control boost then how can I change between HIGH and LOW settings? How do I change between vehicle maps, etc? dumb question --> Can the Haltech keep the engine running for XXX seconds/minutes after removing the key (i.e. timer mode)? Their website didn't say so but I want to make sure.
  23. ^^ LOL, I'm about to try this today with a garden hose to flush the rust out of the block. I'm buying A LOT of distilled water at the Supermarket to ensure that I flush the tap water out afterwards.
  24. Ok, I'm on this issue also. I have a GTT and I want to figure out a good spring rate for grip racing. I thought any decent "FOR TRACK" R34 GTR coilovers would be fine but the GTT has slightly different requirements that I've found.
