  1. Why? This is why dude: Defence rests:P Looks and performance. For 35k I'd take one, not too many of them on the streets.
  2. 17 year old and a GTR... Not a good combination! It's not without reason the insurance is so expensive! Of course any 17 year old will say 'I don't have a lead foot, it's all about the individual, etc etc".... C'mon now! Who you kidding? If your 17 and you want a GTR it's not so you can do the shopping and drive to church in it is it?
  3. Well i hope they keep the rule, I'm planning on getting my 35k Honda NSX next year:) Australia is the most overegulated country on the planet, I wish the govt would just rack off and let ppl do what they want, is this a free country or not?
  4. Hehe, sure I'd love an r34! But I see them on sale for 35k and they're nice r34's and they don't sell, and I bet these guys bought them for around 40k+ a year or so ago, and they're looking at selling them for probably around 32k realistically, so like 8 grand depreciation is a lot for a year or however long they had it. I mean you gotta think that they'll drop to r33 prices sooner or later, probably much sooner, and I mean low 20's. I mean look at a 97 series 2, you can pick up a nice one for low 20's, r34's started in 98 and they're expected to stay around 35k, I don't think so, these cars aren't getting any newer, sooner or later that gap is going to evaporate. I just feel like if you paid 35k now for one that they'll be a tonne of them on the market in 2 years, the 34 will be the new 33 and every man and his dog will have one (despite their being less of them made) and they'll be going for like 22k, so like you'll lose 12 grand on it in 2 years, which is a lot I think. So that's putting me off getting one, that and the high insurance and the fact half the r34's owners make it sounds like you can't leave your car out of your site for five minutes;) All the same, I'd love to have one:P
  5. What's the consensus? I don't know about you but 35-40k for a 5 to 6 year old GT-T's is a bit much, will we be looking at mid to high 20's within a year? (I think so). I just can't help but notice that r34's don't seem to sell at 35k, even nicely tricked out ones.
  6. Great looking r34 dude, the C-West kit looks awesome, how bad was the ding on the rear end though? (just reading off your cardomain guestbook)?
  7. 17 years old and a Skyline for a first car? Why not a GTR while you're at it! .
  8. Yeah but performance and looks aren't mutually exclusive, that thing looks like a bogan's supercar or something, and besides there are no cupholders:P
  9. The styling is a horrible mishmash of retro and rice IMO, a real mess design wise.
  10. Why do ppl bitch so much, like as if there's anyone else bothering to make movies with these cars in them. Anyway, hope they bring back Vin!
  11. Screw that, I think I'll just stick with a GTT;)
  12. Actually, if you did swap cars with him it's unlikely that exactly the same thing would have happened at exactly the same time in the exactly same spot, so you'd probably still have both cars the way I see it.
  13. Well what are you looking at if they do catch you? Fine or time or what? I mean speeding is just a ticket, running for the cops is a whole new deal I'd imagine. I think it's stupid that in order to get out of one crime you commit a way bigger crime, so that when you do get caught you really get the book thrown at you.
  14. That's stupid, there aren't exactly many white r34 GTR's on the road, why not be even dumber and go for a chase in a NSX, like how will they ever track you down? Sounds like a great way to end up a.) in jail or b.)wrapped around a tree.
  15. This car will decimate all... Once we put 100 grand into it:P
  16. It's a ridiculous thing to do, but if you want a car that chicks like then just get a convertible, I drove a friends BMW Z3 2.2i for a while, that thing would get panties wet like nothing else, just the words 'BMW' and 'convertible' did the trick. The 2.2i wasn't particularly fast, but it did have some power compared to the early Z3's which were dogs, all the same it had a sweet sounding engine, and with the top down it's exactly the kind of car chicks love, a Z4 would do the job even better now. As for skylines, well they'll only impress with the power I think, skylines, as much as I hate to say it, aren't lookers in that 'whoah' sense, well maybe a tricked out r34;)
  17. Well if most ppl think you're in a non-turbo Silvia and they can smoke your ass then that's a pretty bad perception to have to deal with, so then you gotta ask yourself, what do I get out of buying a Silvia? And the answer is not a lot! You don't get the respect, if it's non-turbo you don't get the performance or the looks or nothing. I mean it's okay to get you from A to B but other than that. My friend has Silvia and he's alway coping shit about it being a hairdressers car, so like why put yourself thru that, you could put up with that if you're driving some really nice looking car at least, but the Silvia ain't that. But hey, it's cheaper, so it's gotta that going for it.
  18. I'm sorry, I can't help it... 17 year old suspended kids wanting GTR's??? It's like a recipe for trouble... But anyway, since you're going to buy it anyway, I say wait and get a Skyline, Skyline=good, Silvia=bad (at least in my books). You ever considered a 33 GTS-T, still more than enough power and a newer model to boot...
  19. Getting any car to pull chicks is stoopid. You don't need a car to pull chicks, and even if you do pull one, do you really want a girl who is attracted to you because of your car? No thanks. Anyway, I don't see how a uni student, living away from home, working casual or part time can save up for a 20G Skyline in a year or two...? What with rent, food, electricity, bills going out and general life expenses... I think you're going to be taking a loan of some sort. And if paying off your skyline starts to eat into your life then you'll quickly resent your car. No point sittin at home cos ya got no money and you need to make a payment on your car in the best years of your life! Plus insurance and general running costs are a nightmare. Like it or not, cars are usually a MAJOR drain on funds and you'd probably save money taking taxi's everywhere in half the cases. To be honest, I doubt hardly any 19-20 year olds could by a skyline outright living on their own, if so, well done, you must have worked hard.
  20. How much all up for an RX-7 then? Most of the ones on sale atm go for between 35-45k, which is severly overpriced for a 11 year old car! heck, add on 10k and you can get a new Rx-8 in half the cases!
  21. I'd get a 34 if they were cheaper, As for the EVO's, I'll skip, , it's summed up pretty well like this: "Evos are small, ugly, and when tricked out look stupid. Spending a lot of money on something like an Evo seems like dressing a mule in an evening gown. No manner how much much you spend on the dress, the mule is still ugly, and really looks stupid in a dress."
  22. You gotta love all those bright lime and orange cars, I mean do they come from the factory like that?
  23. how about an option 4.) scrap all the rules and let people import what they want:)
  24. You're 20 and you've written off 2 cars already??? Yikes! You have officially used up all your luck dude. I just hope that the only life you potentially take will be your own.
