Hotrod this thread is not about vortex gold 98 ron fuel, so your email doesnt answer anything. I spoke to my mate and he said he got the invoice for me, with RON ratings on the delivery's. Should be interesting, Ill post it up when he scans it. p.s. I still dont believe caltex sells bp ultimate.

I agree with almost everything people have said. My first thoughts were "bullshit" when he told me. Despite this he has said he will grab an invoice with octane ratings next time he can, and scan it for me. will post it if he ever gets around to it.

yeah it makes no sense that caltex wouldnt just buy the normal premium off BP. This guy was very adament that it was the ultimate, I will try and get him to produce some evidence for interests sake.

copper plugs are better then iridiums. a lot of tuners wont even tune cars with iridiums in skylines because you get missfiring using standard coil packs.

What I am saying is that the vortex here is BP ultimate. Its actually 98 ron bp fuel. The reasoning this guy gave me for caltex not calling it vortex 98 is because the real ron figure can be anywhere between 95-98. BP dont care that its often lower then 98, but caltex promise it to be atleast 95, hence the 95 ron rating. I still find it all a little wack, were the catlex premium pumps running out at the same time as BPs?

I have heard from someone in the service station industry that caltex vortex in WA is the exact same fuel as BP ultimate. From the same place and exactly the same grade etc. Discuss...

Whats the difference between a 2004 and a 2005 car in terms of fuel systems? I wouldnt think there would be any difference at all. I wonder who you could talk to to find out.

Sick of fees, yet want to pay some one to make phone calls and emails for you? I dont get it. If you must use a broker then why not use one that runs a compliance workshop? at least they do somthing useful for you.

I checked myree and it was out, then checked super cheap for some octane booster and they only had the crap stuff. yay more wasted fuel I think some vortex and decent octane booster shoudl do the trick once this half tank runs out.
