  2. I just spoke to mate with a WRX and he picked up a full turbo back system for 700 delivered. dump hi flow muffler might check out ebay, but was really hoping there was somewhere local with competittive prices.
  3. if she didnt actually drive it she would win in court easy.
  4. new forum user name and email account? No phone numbers? this looks like a scam
  5. Hey guys, Next week after i get my car registered I need a cat back exhaust system installed. I dont just want the cheapest, but I also dont want some flashy name brand thats going to cost heaps. I want it all done at the same time (dump pipe + high flow + cat back) and probably want the bits people can see to be polished stainless steel. any suggestions on places to go and prices? cheers
  6. ok then leave k band on. It will go off every 30 seconds... how effective will that be? It doesn’t take a genius to realise that if your radar detector is going off so often it will be highly annoying and also it will make you much less likely to react when there is actually a multinova or camera. I will repeat the best and most effective setup for a radar detector for city driving is to use it primarily as a multinova detector and to leave k and x band off. If your radar detector doesnt let you turn off k and x then get a new one. This is not an opinion, it’s a fact.
  7. make sure you can turn k and x band off, otherwise the radar detector, no matter what brand will be useless. important
  8. $1600 for a couple of hinges seems a bit steep
  9. http://raws.dotars.gov.au/ that site will list all the compliance workshops in your state
  10. I just checked and it says its UV cut glass, does that mean its not tinted? very cool if i can leave it... the back window looks awesome!
  11. Yeah kept everything. Hippy its a 2000 GT-T manual coupe. Cost about $18k FOB and no I didnt use an import broker.
  12. Yeah my mate owns the ultra tune there, so i was down getting plugs + oil changed. The car actually looked a bit better before, then it does in those pics. Before compliance it had spotties on the front and clear indicators instead of orange. I have to get all the dark tint on the back removed, and also jack up the suspension for the pits. And they took my beloved xenon lights and put dirty halogens in
  13. Finally got it still dirty from transportation so go easy, hopefully have registered for the weekend after next. http://members.ii.net/~tfroggydawg/r34/ p.s. the pics are huge so feel free to zoom.
  14. my supplier found a copy! YAYAYAYYAYAYAYYAy sif use broker
  15. I bought a radar detector for about 650, a beltronics. I turned off k and x band as if you have them turned on your radar detector will be useless. This is the best setup for a radar detector and I can tell you now it works 100% of the time. I have never had a speeding fine in 2 years. About the legality, the guy at the store told me they are legal. I stopped at a booze bus once and a cop said i should take it down as it’s illegal to use them in WA. I don’t know if I believe him and still use it daily. About that theft thing, why would you leave it up? Put it in your glove box. That’s like leaving a mobile on the dash... silly
  16. lol Import brokers are NEVER the way to go. So far I am not even delayed by my dads stupidity, I am still waiting on the plate from RAWS. spoke to my english speaking contact in japan a moment ago and he was chasing it up for me. *crosses fingers*
  17. Got my car (2000 gt-t coupe) delivered the other day, sent it to autoworx for compliance. So Paul (cool guy) rings me and says he needs the Japanese deregistration papers before he can put the plate on which is due in the mail in a week. I think back to a couple of weeks ago when my dad (who I don’t live with) said he got some mail from Japan which was probably for me. I said I wasn’t sure if i would need it and I would let him know when i saw him next. So anyway I ring to ask if he has the papers and to check if he has the de reg papers, he tells me he threw them out. WTF!!!! So like my dad looks to have thrown out my original papers which I need to get my car on the road. Worst case scenario if the supplier doesn’t have a copy is to get another copy off the Japanese authorities, who knows how many weeks that would take! I hope it isn’t to much of a pain in the ass, all I have been thinking about for the last week or so is my car and how good it will be driving it. *TEAR* :~( lol
  18. How much are the stock r34 suspension worth? What about the front indicators?
  19. If i was going to buy a non turbo car it wouldnt be a skyline.
  20. buying a car without seeing the auction report is very dodgy. Paying money to your broker when he doesnt own the car is very dodgy. Someone you have hired not following out your instructions is very dodgy. gl with your car
  21. mmm I need a full cat back exhaust system soon.. just waiting to see if i have to replace the clutch first.
  22. My second car is a auto 86 carolla seca hatch back. Ever since i bought it it has had a speedo that shows the speed about 7-10km/hr less then it actually is. How can i correct this? cheers
  23. In your very response you support everything I say! They only reason people use import brokers is lack of information, so why the hell are you trying to stop me giving information???? It is not a luxury to have phone number or websites of jap exporter, its just a matter of looking and asking. I don’t care what you think there is a need for or not. I would have thanked anyone that had the sense to inform me that brokers are a useless and unneeded expense when importing before I imported my first car. Unless you have some vested interest in supporting brokers why would you care if I was informing people of their options and the cold hard truth of importing?
  24. Get over what? Time and time again I see people wasting their money on an illegitimate service, I will not hold my tongue. Import broking is not a legitimate service its a big industry scam, perpetuated by people like yourself who tell all their friends to use them. It’s like paying someone to tell you where the radiator is so you can check your cars water. You could have just asked a mate and he would have showed you for free, or you could have done a little research and found the information easily yourself.
  25. Can I ask why you paid a broker $1100 to do nothing, if you were on such a strict budget? You could have dealt with the jap supplier yourself, would have been able to personally talk to the people that mattered about your bumper. Saved yourself damage and brokers costs. Even if it still came in damaged you would have had $1100 to fix it. You really only have yourself to blame, think of it as a learning experience
