  1. auction sheet says nothing about crash damage. What else do I have to go on? what is a syaken?
  2. is s2 much better? any technical or mechanical inprovments? r33 s2 was HEAPs better then s1 ... I feel jipped now lol nah still a sexy car
  3. triptronic has always been cheaper, specially a 98.
  4. I have no idea mate, I didnt even know there were two series, thats probably why mine is cheaper. Series two is probably in more demand. got a pic of your interior?
  5. what are you talking about mate? The car is mine when it hits the docks, I choose when to take it to compliance. I only take it there when it has no mods that need to be taken off to have it complianced. the exporter hasnt quoted me anything.. all he does is tell you how much the car costs 1.4 million yen and you pay it and pay the FOB he has nothing to do with anything else. organising compliance and import approval are what you do. You are getting confused by what aussie import brokers do. They create a package and pretend they actually do something for you apart from make some calls and forward some emails. (all of which you can do yourself) Each stage in the import process is simple it just requires time and money.
  6. I got a 2000 gt-t for 30k on road in australia. auction sheet is clean as a whistle. And it is bayside blue a hard colour to get. pretty stock, quick shift kit, suspension, is about it, no stereo. Will let you know if i find any surprises in about a month or so. check it out here (I bought it directly from a jap exporter, no aussie middle man) http://members.ii.net/~tfroggydawg/page/20...line_r34_gt.htm
  7. I didnt know gt-t's had traction control? awesome thats an added bonus, waits for end of month to get car on ship
  8. LoL guys NO aussie import broker is reputable!!!! Because when something goes wrong they have no direct control over what’s happening. Their finger is not on the damn pulse of the situation. You are wasting your time and money using them. I say this over and over. You are going to get exactly the same service by directly purchasing your car from Japan and avoiding a Australian middle man. Sure something could go wrong but at least you have $1000 extra to fix it if it does. the point is there is no greater risk of things going wrong if you buy direct from a jap exporter, in fact there is one less person trying to push a sale so you might even find less will go wrong. it is an extremely easy process to buy direct. Please give it a go next import cheers p.s we really need a sticky to outline the many better cheaper options not involving aussie brokers.
  9. old 93 skyline with cheap mods like bleed valve and high km's... not something I would buy myself. I think you paid to much.
  10. lol dodgy, I wouldnt be so casual about stuff like that . get it properly fixed guys
  11. nice ftp pitty its capped at a slow 66k/sec
  12. Your best bet for buying a 34 gt-t is to buy one from a english speaking jap exporter, most have plenty to choose from in their stock lists. If you have time you can buy one directly from a jap auction through the jap exporter. what ever you do do not use a local aussie broker, I can not stress this enough. If you say importing is to hard and you dont mind paying extra to have it easier then just buy it from a car yard here in australia.
  13. I really do feel sorry for you if you would go the ford over the skyline
  14. offset some of the risk cost by not paying $1k to some useless prick here to do nothing for you
  15. What do you guys think about creating a thread listing, Contacts in japan that speak english and work for exporters. Custom brokers for each state Compliancers in each state This way a total import noob could easily import himself and save himself $1k. POssibly even list the order you do everything in. I would add all the contacts i know if other people did.
  16. I used Tony at http://www.motorworldjapan.com/cars/ he is a really good bloke from australia and has access to all the auctions as well as a dealer network of cars in stock. Most cars on aussie broker websites are from his and others stock lists. From that site click on dealer network then just hit search and it will list all the cars in stock, you will notice many from local sites. It is so easy to save $1k
  17. Please dont buy cars from aussie brokers... you are wasting your money. You can deal directly with english speaking people in japan and buy cars from them saving yourself 1.1k or whatever.
  18. Myth busters is weak, they only do one test which if you ask any scientist, is a crock of shit. Mobile phones can and have started fires in patrol stations. If someone was smoking near me filling up with petrol I would take it from them and put it out if they didn’t do so on their own. Not because I am paranoid but because I don’t take unnecessary risks when they can easily be avoided without putting anyone out.
  19. Since starting this thread... I have been given a refund on the 97 gts-t I have been given a refund from the aussie broker I used I have bought a much better car directly from a jap broker I have saved myself 1.1k aussie broker = not part of an importing loop
