I'm always down for some Xic Lo... But I'm flexible. Might be interested, will let you know prolly later on today. Tex
-
Hehehe, good stuff. I thought for a moment I may have actually endangered you, due to the fact you suddenly weren't looking at the road anymore, but in the general direction of the floor of your car... Too bad I didn't get your reaction on video! Tex
-
Hehehe... Maybe I did, maybe I didn't... As for my pick-up attempt, well, your reaction said it all. Good work Tosh, was a fun day, the food was great, the only thing lacking for me was that I didn't have a Skyline of my own to be thrashing. I must admit I felt very left out in that regard! If I wasn't so set on sinking a stack of money in to the Riv I'd have bought one about two weeks ago... That said, the upside is that I got some pretty good video footage. I don't want to promise too much as far as that side of things goes, but I do intend to get at least a highlights clip together in the near future. When it's available I'll post the link on here for you all. Oh, and it will be for cable users or very patient dial-up users only. Tex

I would like to add at this point I shall be there, video camera in hand, so wash those cars, biatches! See you all then! Tex

Northside Steak Consumption Festival Tuesday March 25th

LOL, good work on the research, Kel. I still can't associate monkeys with peanuts - it just doesn't seem "right". I'm not saying it isn't true, of course... Tex -
So THATS what it sounds like to snap a driveshaft...
Tex replied to PranK's topic in New South Wales
So, what DOES it sound like? Seriously though, bummer dude! I guess that's cars for ya! Always a problem here or there... Were you giving it some at the time, or did it just fail? Tex -
No worries man, this f@cker should pay! Will do it ASAP, and post the resultant pics. Tex
-
I'm happy to go to the scene and take some pics giving an idea of where your car came to rest in relation to where the set of lights are etc. (giving an indication as to the amount of momentum he had). Didn't see the impact itself but was there on the night and live close by so this is no hassle for me. Let me know. In retrospect, we probably should have done so on the night. Tex

Cool site, it just sucks that my house is outside the boundary of the mapped area by what must be 500m at the most. Tex

I can vouch for the work done by the guy QIK78U refers to. It is excellent. Tex

Let me help you with this one, Tosh. We'll be at Fina. We were at Andronicus last night, and fark, does their service ever suck!?!? Obviously they are still under the same ownership as when they were Cafe New York, only the place is just not so drab any more... Only problem at Fina will be space, though... Whaddya reckon? Tex
-
I may come along Tosh, will know closer to the date. Tex

Sure, don't see why it wouldn't. It's RWD, has a stack of power, and a nice tight limmie - why not? It'd be a real challenge to keep on track though, when 2 tonnes breaks traction, it tends to want to go its own way. I've tested it. Hehe Dino, it's a more conservative 2 tonnes (as above), and it runs radials now - but still, NO. As much as I'd love to try the Riv out on the 'pan, it may not be avialable at that time - hopefully it'll be in getting treated to a full respray, and other resto work. I was intending to bring Daddy's BMW. Anyway, see you all there as a spectator, I imagine. Tex
-
Thanks anyway fatz, but it's cool. I might come along for the social aspect of it, and perhaps take some vid and make a clip or two for everyone... We'll see. Tex

Are there spaces left? What's the go if two people want to share one car? Does Mr. McGill frown upon this? I take it you also don't have any problem with non-'lines carving up the concrete? EDIT: Damn, I see I'm now on the second page, and it seems to be full. Anyway, if I'm wrong, please let me know! Tex

There was an interesting discussion about this on Performance Forums last week. Check it: http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...readid=67144964 Tex

The Newport pizza was pretty good, Geoff - I don't recall having any negative thoughts on it afterwards as I have done with Mimmo's before... That may have been the abundance of young girls walking past either in costume or scantily-clad (maybe they were in costume too, as hookers? ). I even asked one out, but she said no. Oh well. Andrew, have a good night mate! Spare a thought for us! Tex

Haha, nice story James. And hi! Shell, that's it too, sometimes you want to hold out for that "one" that has everything, and leaps out and grabs you. This is as important as getting one that's in great mechanical and physical nick, especially if the things you want are not easily changeable (such as the car being the wrong colour for example). When I looked at the car I referred to above, I felt a bit slack for all the crap we had to go through (the seller was in QLD, so it was hard to arrange stuff - but that's his problem, not mine), but on my very first contact with him, I told him that if the car looked suitable, it WOULD be inspected by our mechanic for me to even consider buying it. Seeing as the seller was a mechanic by trade it would have been helpful if he'd just told me the things that needed fixing then and there, instead of keeping his mouth shut until I came back to him with a full list of issues, then saying "yeah, I know all the problems mate, I'm a mechanic by trade". Annoying! Tex

I'm like Flynn. Hmm, 7L Buick V8 vs RB**DET/26DETT = How about I just meet you guys at pizza? Look forward to seeing you all. Tex

Clearly you two are quite comfortable with eachother... Tex
