  1. Just wanted to put this article here: http://www.caradvice.com.au/255573/northern-territory-returns-open-speed-limits-road-safety-trial/ Do you think australians can be trusted to drive safely or will it be abused? I'm glad they're at least going to trial it and not pull the safety card.
  2. if i did it again i would have dropped a V8 in it (since its for drifting and would have been a lot less effort).. TBH the rb25 and rb20 are not worth doing up, youd be better spending the money on a 32 GTR. End of the day its your money and if your up for the hassles and cost then go for it.
  3. got both of these on the weekend, thanks everyone!
  4. really dont want anything new, its just for drift shitbox
  5. Hi, I am after an R33 Rb25det S1 coil pack loom and stock AFM posted to glenmore park NSW 2745.
  6. I Agree with Reaper, i read about how easy it was.. followed all of the tuts and pages on here and the wiring has been an absolute balls up..
  7. from discussions with people i had you have issues with the vct running off the rb20 like it only working up high if you manually wire it however i cannot comment on it as im no car electrician or expert of any kind. and the other issue of fixing the rb20 wiring that was already f***ed is the reason of swapping it all.. The hard work of ripping it all out and putting in the new one is done. i am stumped by the idea of this one plug which there are no signs of ever existing in the loom.
  8. did this initially, wasnt happy with loss of VCT and the hassles of tracking back a lot of wires which were dodgy on the rb20 loom. So now, replaced the ECU, ignitor box, injector loom, coil loom and over all engine loom. only bit missing from this setup is that one plug....
  9. yeah. i just heard that not all looms have the plug (which the one i bought doesnt) so im quite confused as to why it doesnt if there are problems..
  10. anyone? sorry this is the last part of my conversion thats stumped me a little.
  11. the wiring colours dont match between loom and 32 plug so youll need to do lots of reading and checking wiring diagrams etc for that to just "plug in". I posted asking for some help on this and even asking someone if theyd do it if i paid and got no answers so it was go through all the wires and figure how they transition however i dont want my registered so i ran an individual power line to the fuel pump and bypassed all of that.
  12. Hi, I have done an R32 conversion to a RB25DET and bought a new engine loom for the 25 however it didnt have a plug for the Throttle position sensor. Does anyone know why and if its required? will it just idle rough without it plugged in or will i have overall issues?
  13. what do you want to achieve out of it?
  14. We tried reusing the existing wiring and found the injectors we wired up correctly except one were the wiring colours reversed. You lose VCT from the rb25det as the rb20 doesnt have it The ECU fried when we tried using the rb20 ignitor box Just whilst the engines out, change the loom straight to the Rb25det loom, injector loom, coil loom, ecu and ignitor box youll need to figure out how to wire up the body harness and get the wipers, speedo, fuel pump etc all working. Another issue i had was the injectors had seized from the engine sitting so long, had to hit them with 12v so they free'd up.
  15. I have had so many problems, it is so definitely not worth it. i still havent finished and ive been working on it for a while.. i changed it over caz my rb20 was hunting and i had the rb25 lying around so thought after reading it would be easy enough. I have plugs that dont fit, all the looms change. Dont reuse the rb20 loom, this does not work. I should of just fixed the rb20 I dont even want mine road registered so i havent worried about hooking up to body and making speedo or wipers work either.
  16. the 33 sold, keeping the 32 sorry
  17. is it a series 1 engine? does the loom bolt directly into the r32 body? Will the garrett bolt onto the standard manifold? What power could i expect?
  18. bump - still after one
  19. still after this.
  20. dont want to side track this thread as i want to sell this, however do you think id have more luck selling a track r32 gtst with an rb25det conversion which can still be road registered? one of them needs to go and one will be track.
  21. yeah, i dont need to sell it.. its just wasting rego sitting in my garage.. when someone could be enjoying it. At 5k though id just strip it and turn it into a track car....
  22. Still looking. Its a series 1 rb25det
  23. Hi, I am doing an rb25det conversion in an r32. I have both rb20det and rb25det engine looms and need the plugs swapped on the rb25det to plug straight into the r32 body harness. Could anyone link me to relevant info or anyone that could help? I have tried searching and come up a bit short.
