Thanks very much guys much appreciated, I pulled the heat sheild off n found 3 out of 4 bolts on the exhaust side of the turbo loose and also found a failed gasket.

Hi, my nissan r34 skyline gtt running stock boost, now when it is in low boost driving normally it sounds like a turbo should, i dont pretend to know much about turbo charged engines, but obviously as the turbine spins faster at higher revs it will make a different noise as to low boost. But for some reason my turbo is making a screaming noise which im not sure if it is normal or not as i have only had the car for a few weeks. any help would be appreciated as mechanics want to charge me $110 for a dyno. I havent had any other problems, no knocking on idle or oil leaks etc just the turbo noise, It probably is normal.

All good points, although he is a trusted mechanic an at the end of the day as long as he does a good job and it works as it should , at he end of the day it's still a motor regardless of the brand skyline.

Hay guys, my gtt r34 skyline has just reached 100,000 km an in need of a service. Can anybody recommend a good mechanic in the western suburbs area that does a good job, my mechanic has quoted me $650 inc parts and labour to replace fan belt, timing belt an replace the spark plugs i have used this mechanic on my old non turbo gt r34 when i was on my p's. He did a great job (car didnt break down for the rest of the time i owned it 6 months). So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well from what you have stated it sounds like the last person who owned this r32 didnt know what the hell they were doing when they overchraged the sump with 1L of oil -_-. As for having a small puddle of oil in the intercooler its hard to say if that is normal or not due to the reasons i just stated i would personally drain any forms of liquid out of that vehicle and have a licensed person or somebody who knows something about cars. Stalling, it could be two things due to past experiences. It may have a coil pack on its way out or just a simple dodgy air flow meter, an your oil leak just get that checked out next service thats nothing to out of the ordinary with a car of that age. Thats all my expericnes anyway im sure there would be a few other people on here willing to self-diagnose your car.

yeah thanks for that suggestion, i just did a quick search through ebay an purchased a decent looking nismo one. Being nismo it should obviously be a direct fit to a r34? the description says r34 but as i have just learnt the gtr is different to the gtt.

Ah damn I bought a gtt an it has a crap saas gear knob/ converter so crap

Sell them and buy an autometer. Sounds way to complicated. $130 will save you alot of hassle.
