  1. haha yeah we all thought so to. they are actually work euroline type 2 or somethin 17 x8 and 17 x9 they are his fav wheels and has wanted em for ages. i saw them come up for sale so snapped em up at a good price. and fitted them with toyo r1rs on the front and some sumitomos on the back. haha. ah ok.. ill have to go steal the water and oil lines off my mates spare block then haha. ill sus ebay for the rods. not real keen on the drift works kit. is it really worth it?

  3. decided it was time to turn the boost up on saturday. so with out test driving i just screwed the thing down on the turbo tech. then a little later took it for a drive. slowly brought up the revs at about 1/3 throttle and in 2nd at about 4k rpm i watched the boost gauge rocket to over 20 psi...... and when i backed off it made this strange woooosh noise. similar to like a vent atmo bov... but i dont have one haha. anyways. babied it to my destination then wound the boost back down. another test run. 10psi.. aww stock... eventually got it to sit on 15psi. happy with that got new turbo waitin so itll be ok haha. makes some ah.... funny noises. and at full boost it does the wooosh thing instead of flutter hahaha. oh also got the laurel tinted on saturday and fitted up my new chrome passenger headlight and corner light. coz mine had grey ones on the passenger side for some reason.. pics

  5. another question. i picked up a vg30 turbo yesturday. and im just wondering if i have to change the oil and water lines on my laurel? i know on my hr31 i had to as it was a redtop and i put a silvertop turbo on it. but yeah not sure is the c33 silvertops run the same lines as r32. ive been told that c33/a31 use a redtop turbo from factory?
  6. correct me if im wrong but that looks like the standard oil warmer from an rb25.. but seems to have a different sender in it i believe. i just recently put my mates c33 back together with a 25det and it had that same loom plug but only single pin on the pressure sender.
  7. yeah it did ring bells and i realise its a crucial part hence i sent it to get tuned properly. and it returned no issues. engine in the skyline ran fine other then the hesitation which the laurel is now also doin. i believe it was probs doin what you are sayin and it was flashin at the wrong point. because when i retard the timin it drove like a pile of crap and felt like it was very retarded timing wise. another reason why i didnt believe it was givin a correct timin reading is because when i changed the timin belt i made sure everythin was perfectly lined up (mate from darwin whos qualified mech actually did the work) and it was perfect. still the timin gun read 40degrees and bounced around the place from 0-40 (forgot to add that part to the last post)
  8. hmmm. will try that. i have tried a different cas before on my hr31 but didnt make much difference how ever it was just from another hr31 that had had its motor pulled out coz it spun a bottom end bearing. so may have been on its way anyways. ill see if i can find another cas. will also get the test light on my car tonight to check the timing. i did notice on my hr31 when i tried to time it, itd be all over the shop and basically looked like it was sittin at about 40degree advanced. and with the cas turned as far retard as it could go it would only drop to about 30 degree. how ever it never pinged. will check it tonight.
  9. Hey guys. Just need some help with my c33 laurel. bit of back ground. its a stock rb20 silvertop outta the laurel so runnin all the laurel electrics and everythin. ive noticed recently that its having a strange issue on cruising throttle and acceleration between idle and 3200 rpm. basically what it does is itll take off and then itll feel like its surging or struggling for fuel. but soon as it gets to 3200rpm or i give it a boot full youll feel it kick and take off like theres nothin wrong. almost feels as tho the timing is retarding itself and then just gets over it. now when cruising say sittin in 5th gear at between 60-80ks itll randomly start chuggin and feel like the you bunny hopping almost, again on light cruising throttle. but soon as you put the foot down it goes away again. another thing.. when this hesitation happens there is suddenly considerably more load on the engine. ie vac gauge goes from say 20in vac to about 5 in vac and the exhaust note changes drastically gets alot deeper and sounds more strained. strangest thing is my hr31 coupe with rb20det redtop eccs did exactly the same thing and i chased the problem since day one replacing sensors and stuff and could never figure it out. even after multiple times at boost worx shaun could never figure it out. and i put it down to the fact they never actually road tested it and drove it under light throttle because he said it never happened on the dyno and even the dyno sheets say the same. last week i had an issue where the car just simply didnt want to start. so i sent it to boostworx after checkin a few things myself and couldnt figure it out. they charged the battery (as i killed it tryin to start it) and after testing the cas and fuel pressure it simply just started... not sure if this is related to anythin. but thought id throw it out incase it helps any one. cheers guys.   10. hey guys when i put this lock bar in i want to replace the hicas arms at the same time. just to make sure the ball joints and stuff are all good. anyone know a part number for the tie rods in the hicas rears? or if they are the same as anythin?

  12. finally got to take my mates c33 out for its first drive since its been reborn. got a couple pics
  13. so yeah havent really had much of a chance to do anythin with my car lately. mainly because ive been workin on this this is my mate lukes car. some people might remember it from when luke fink owned it. finally after about 6 weeks of flat out work on this thing is got its first drive last night after 6 months of bein f**ked. just in time for his wedding in october in which both out laurels will be the wedding cars. cant f**kin wait. heres a vid of its first drive
  14. minor update. just rang boost worx. apparently it now runs... sounds like it should be good.. except they arent actually sure why it stopped work.. or why it now works again for that matter.. apparently the fuel pump isnt building fuel pressure very quickly. and the ignitor seems to have had a bit of a cry but has now gotten over it.. odd because i changed it yesturday for an apparent known workin one and no difference. they cleaned up a few terminals and plugs and sensors. took it for a drive and apparently ran sweet other then the stutter. which they diagnosed as a dirty afm so cleaned it and apparently runs sweet now. they are keepin it for a bit longer to do a few more tests on it. so should get it back tonight. fingers crossed

  16. haha yeah he was a decent dude. cant really see it in the pics. but the last meter or so of the flat bed was actually hinged. so it made it on a much flatter incline. otherwise no way in hell the laurel would have made it up onto that truck its at boostworx currently. shaun says i should hear from him this mornin sometime... fingers crossed its nothin major/expsensive.

  19. cant smell fuel anywhere. just pulled a plug out and they are wet. (ive been tryin to start it this mornin. no luck) so itd deffinately gettin fuel. and just seems to turn over quicker then normal.
  20. All good man. cheers. a problem occured yesturday. on the way to work i stopped at a servo to buy breakfast. (big can of v and a pack of smokes) and when i got back into the car it wouldnt start. just turned over really quickly. it eventualy cranked into life. but didnt seem happy about it. got to work parked up. all good. when i went to leave it wouldnt start at all. just cranks over really fast.. like it did in the mornin. it seems like its been gettin harder to start for the last couple weeks now but i hadnt really noticed it till today. any ideas?

  24. damn third post in a row haha. just spotted a bay side blue vspec 34 with no wing and massive wheels. looked tough as. think the plates were vspec 34 gave the driver thumbs up. got a nod in return. such a nice car.
  25. oh i also spotted a silver r35 gtr with the plates mr35? i think it was on montague road last night about 5:30 cant exactly remember what round it was on haha.
