Is there any chance you could sell me a R33 Nismo dash cluster? Need it by Friday I gues not due to the bloody golden week over there at the moment

Got pics mate? Interested. -
Tommyk: your car doesn't need much maintenance that's because I didn't rip you off LOL Skyline_boy: no idea why it's so expensive besides I've told them to do it properly. Maybe that means half the stuff aren't factory parts anymore.. Funny enough a lot of Porsche parts aren't all that expensive, ie GT3 rotors are $200 each, GT3 4 Pot calipers $750 a pop and pads for em is like $200 a set. Then again that's on par with Nissan prices...oh air filter/oil filter these sorta day to day stuff aren't all that dear either. It's just that when it comes to rebuilding them it gonna eat your heart out.
-
If the damn Porsche is treated with respect then it should last. Looking for a decent Porsche isn't that easy.....
-
It's still worth it in a sense considered all the old shape can be converted to looks like a 993 (the last of the original aircooled 911's) - that's my intention anyway. 993's are still worth closer to $100k mark so if a $30-40k car looks like it's worth near $100k I reckon I am in front. LOL.
-
Yeah call up PR Technology in Sydney before even thinking about one. I was just thinking about a RUF enhanced 911SC and I was freaked out the engine rebuild gonna cost more than a OS Giken 3L kit for my GTR...........

Buying a Skyline ... advice?

a) Powerplay knows their stuff even though it's a tad more than the others. At least they have the courtesy to entertaining ex-tyrekickers like myself :headspin: B) Edward Lee? The guy and the sales like to play hard ball..I am playing hard ball with them trying to comply my Supra as we speak..... One thing you might wanna investigate before considering importing it privately - there's only 2 places in Aust so far have been given the type approval to comply R34's. One is in Hornsby but last time I've spoken to them they're out of the plates (go bug them though, they said one bloke bought 90 plates off them and haven't used it up yet). The other one is Crossover Conversions in Melbourne. That place in Hornsby was asking $5500 plus $165 application fee plus tyres. Ever considered a R33 GTR? The prices for them is coming down at the moment. -
My Parts ($3k) Stolen From Docks/Ship !!!

Might be better off getting his supplier in Japan to do something ie tell the supplier to get in touch with the shipping agent in Japan to get something done even though they might not and then get something happening on this end - it bounds to get somewhere along the line? Hate the chance of ever getting anything done (the parts back or compo) as the shipping line see private customers as nothing but they changed their tune when they see a ABN/company name.... -
Nah haven't used them before but I think they're connected with Just Jap. Just curious, how much are you paying for compliance?
-
Yeah but that's IF the workshop stick with everything the rule says but they're usually pretty laxed with the wheels ie let you take the car with aftermarket rims in then slap the stock rims with brand new DOT marked tyres when it's ready to be signed off.
-
Someon recomended these tyres

"donate" points?

How much do we need before we can spend 'em? -
Geoff should be able to answer you which workshop are you dealing with in Sydney? The exhaust must be standard, same goes for the airbox (used box from another car is ok but note - they might chuck your mate's airfilter out so take that out) and for the wheels and tires, you must buy new tires and present the receipt. 225/45/16 are like $110 each from Big O in Moorebank (or $105 from Tyre King in Lansvale..) for shitty DOT marked tyres. Be warned, the other workshops take the RAWS rules by the book and I've heard they will destroy the aftermarket exhaust if it needs be and bug you to get the stock one. EDIT: deleting the workshop name

My Parts ($3k) Stolen From Docks/Ship !!!
dairyboy replied to bryanlee38's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I had a set of BBS LM sitting on the back seat, nothing happened to it  surely that's worth some dole? Same as the other time I had a set of Buddy Club's..it doesn't even belong to that car! Even better that Silvia I've imported, had all sorts of electronics sitting on the floor but no one can be bothered to unhook 'em. Ah well, maybe Sydney ports are safer? -

What I mean is, is there a possibility your supplier took the parts away? One particular supplier (and well known too) have done that a few times to me. Hehe..now reminds me of a story I've heard from a customer - his car arrived at the Brissy port, they can't be ***ed to jump start it so they got a forklift and lift it at the same time causing some damage to the sill -

Haven't heard any insurance that will cover for goodies like that... Have you deal with the supplier before? It's quite possible they took the stuff off you and wasn't even on the boat to begin with. -
Ditto, need one for a R33 GTR (and I assume they use the same battery)

Got the name of the ship? If it's a Jap ship (I mean all the crews are Jap) then it's almost impossible for them to do it - some bullshits along the line is that the Japanese takes great pride in their ship and in themselves they won't go mess around with it. Looking back at the last 40-50 cars I've imported, it's _always_ the non-Jap ships that I have things taken but so far it's always just the head unit and the odd turbo timer but wheels? Also, a lot of the times K-line could be reselling space on one ship (kinda like airline code sharing) it could be someone else who runs the ship (ie MOL, NYK just to name a few).. Down here in Sydney, every single car that comes in will be inspected and marked whatever it's there (ie "gadgets" = things they have no idea, "H/U" for head unit etc) and no one else can touch the cars except the owners and will be locked at all times. Not sure if that's the same for Brisvegas. Go talk to the port management but I won't expect much to happen as they can always blames it on the ship crew or even the Jap supplier itself (which is a different can of worm waiting to be opened...) -
I have one for sale - silver/purple in colour with the Nismo nose splitter thingy..Asking $900
-
Soon will have a set, in Sydney so what's ya offer? Drop me a PM thanks.
-
How much are they worth anyway? Depending on the offer I might have a set of R33 GTR Brembo's with stock rotors and brand new Nissan pads. Why brand new pads? The car is being complied as we speak..
-
If you got the de-reg paper, you would know what's the last plate the car was wearing..
-
Maybe he figured $200/processor is a tad too cheap? lol
