  1. Hmmmm! Sounds like you've just written off your car....tough eh!! On further consideration..you might just save the day if you prise the white base off the steel loop and replace it in the hole with a bit of silicon and an abject apology  A better way to remove the seat base...especially if its tight ..is to use a large screwdriver or prybar just inside of the black bracket and lever it up
  2. Hehguys thanks for all the info, very helpful for the R32 boys too, I see no point in keeping the hicas ecu if you have no hicas..even if it only weighs 1/2Kg. The cars first time out is the drags Sun 22nd.It will be absolutely stock except for what I have time to remove befor then. I will post when I've removed all the hicas and ecu.
  3. This kind of situation is usually a matter of having just the right tool for the job. From memory we used a combination of socket with various length extensions from the front of the car and ring spanner with just the right angle on the head up from below. Once the initial grip is cracked a 1/4 socket driver with good selection of extensions is very useful. Or you can spend a couple of hours removing bits from the engine bay and attack it from the top. Enjoy!
  4. ??? Why does the steering "go heavy" at slow speeds??
  5. skylinegeoff: thanks for responding, so..if I take off everything inc. HICAS ECU I will need to fit a lockbar? I have Whiteline coilovers and swaybars etc to go on. This is a track only car. The plan is to remove every bit of un needed weight and work on the suspension and handleing + some body stiffening befor starting any power mods. The light won't be a problem as it probably won't have the stock dashboard
  6. Whiteline did coilovers for my R33 4 Door
  7. Have you spent any time in a car with Jap Brand coilovers? They mostly seem to be way too hard for Aus roads. I went local Whiteline/DMS and in my opinion even they are to stiff for local roads. They handle fine but you get sick of the bangs and jolts.
  8. I want to remove all the HICAS components on an R33GTS25T running the stock ECU. Is it feasible?? anyone offer any advice?
  9. No they are not all rising rate at the power figures you'r aiming for the Nismo regulator would be good a straight swap for the stock one
  10. Micks R32 is push and so is my R33 it's the GTR's that have the pull type. R25box and clutch will go in no problem
  11. I can't help with your current problem, but for future reference consider the following traders..they all have excellent reputation on the Skylines Forums and I have dealt with them all myself several times with no problems http://www.greenline.jp/ http://www.nengun.com http://www.nismo.com.au hope you get sorted out
  12. Sorry Nex, I did actually say that, I think I had one of my rare moments of sanity and thought I couldn't justify having 2 Skylines. Fortunately my normal state of mind quickly returned and I realised I don't have to justify it. Anyway the white car only has 2 doors so the track is all it's good for  and jlnewton will need someone to wave to without slumming.....so the 4 door STAYS.
  13. As Steve says yes its a straight swap Ive got one in mine....have you got the lightened flywheel to go with it?
  14. aaaah!!....but soccer mums with STYLE  did I say I was selling??? I must have been having a bad hair day. I just swapped my bonnet pins for recessed Ford XA ones, closed off the top and sides to the radiator. Will sheet in the bottom tomorrow. Hmmm! what's next on the list? Selling??? I just bought another one so it won't be lonely at night :headspin:

    who did it?

you get this problem every time you go to the drags, one of those razor blade glass scapers takes it off in a couple of minutes..then a quick wipe with glass cleaner. my price for this valuable hint is to see those pics in the general forum.
  16. Been using BP Ultimate for a couple of years now and no problems. even if the fuel pump seals were gone you still wouldn't get any fuel smell, the pump is sealed in the tank! Look elsewhere for your problem
  17. Did anyone do a count....I think thats the most Skylines I've ever seen together. Excellent get together !!!
  18. Ask a panelbeater, how long does it take you to type your moniker???
  19. Traditionally...it pisses down rain on the Sunday  I'll talk to the boys and see you on Sunday
  20. 225 is a bit undersized for an 8.5ins rim the optimal size on that rim would be 245 I would have 225 front and 245 rear or maybe 255 rear
  21. Welcome to the 4 Door club....the world of real Skylines  Unfortunately a world I'm thinking of leaving :wavey:

    Number Plates

It is worth going to court with good clear photos and pleading leniency.....it may be technically illegal, but the primary thing with plates is that they are clearly visible from in front of the car at 25meters and at an angle of 45 degrees each side. these other things are nit picking and should not bring such a punitive fine. Many magistrates may well agree with you
  23. Sounds like a plan.....are you dodging on and off the Gateway or just hit the Gateway from Nudgie....Where is Mr Pies?? sounds like lunch??
  24. OK does Asply Macca's suit everyone 11.30 .....or Nudgee Shell same time
