The green supra did 1 run at 10.6 and the blue 1 10.8. I saw you a couple of times knore....but didn't know who you were Apart from the fact that there weren't enough entries it was a good day. Not too crowded, every one could get a good look at what was going on....some very nice cars, even nicer girls and a good atmosphere. From a personal side ...it was disapointing. We finally got 51jay back together at 8.45am Sat morning after a minor disaster on an attempted tuning drive about 1 am. So totally untuned ..but up and running we went anyway. High point of the trip out there was the Gold Coast contingent cruising past us....3 Nice Skylines in line astern...good one guys . Mick did 3 runs around 11am with a best of 15 at 90!!! mph (he's now living in the cupboard under the stairs ) so we decided to withdraw and just enjoy the day. Absolutly nothing over 3000rpm at nearly 17psi and a pfc knock level of 3 to 8. As I thought ...you could do as many runs as you could fit in so for anyone who was game it was good value for money. I quickly worked out that the answer to the heat was soak your cap at every tap. It was a little expensive for what you got but i think it is a good concept and with more support and entries from the Jap import community will only get better. We will be heading for Sydney for the Finale...hopefully with a fully sorted car and yours truly back behind the wheel.....See you there??? PS Ive got 160 pics total 48MB if anyone can help me to get them up here

seems clear enough to me..........there's a new quick R33 around town, be nice if we do meet him at Drag Combat

Have you actually asked them for quotes on fitting a clutch kit supplied by you
-
I like it ...what is the frontbar??
-
Make your own would be your best option i think.....Not a genuine GTR but a 4 door with GTR running gear, maybe start with a 4 door GTS4 Are you coming down for Drag Combat on Sat??
-
Did they have R33's in 1987??

Yeah heat can be a bit of a bummer......but a bit of prep time makes all the diff, big sunshade, lightweight seat, sunblock and a couple of eskies full of ice and cold drinks in the boot ...... think of the poor competitors in the staging lanes !!! and finally....this IS Queensland. ..... Still hope to see you there

Unfortunately it's quite exxy....$80 but that gets another person in for free so work it out......2 people spectating= $60 1 driver+1 crew=$80... your getting a days racing....as much chance as anyone else to win money....and your car on TV ....all for $20. We would be Bracket racing ...pick your et and stick to it 2 classes ET1 0 to 11.99 and ET2 12 to 14.99. mick ran mid 14's + acouple of 15's last year we are hoping to be into high 12's this year. Old turbo is just about off, HKS 2540 ready to go on........ITHINK we're going to make it....as of today I start partial weight bearing on my poor little foot. Should make things a little easier!!

OK! All SAU members: This is an event tailor made for Jap Imports from stock right through to over-the-top mods. Last year was a blast!!! mick51 got 16 yes 16 runs in....makes the average t & t look sick. They need our support to make this a success and therefor an annual event so if we want recognition and acceptance of our cars we need this kind of publicity + You will be on TV, Fox Sport will be there and will broadcat the event on 8 occasions through the year. So all you guys who intend to do drag when you've done this or done that to your car tuck you'r balls in and put in an entry, or at least come and support us guys who are entering. My car is in,with mick51 driving again but is a bit touch and go as to whether I can get it ready in time.(balancing on one leg) Perhaps we can co-ordinate with strutto to get a mass SAU arrival, though competiters need to get there earlier. Look forward to seeing you all there http://www.dragcombat.com

If you go to Nissan for parts those numbers are what they ask you for That is the origional Nissan plate. When they imput them into "FAST" it brings up info about your car and they need it to find parts. The Aust compliance plate means nothing to them. I personally would be dubious about buying a 'grey import' without it, complianced or not

The car's diagnostic mode has nothing to do with setting ignition timing and won't help you with it. To find out what it does do, and how to activate it, visit http://www.skylinesdownunder.com and check out their info pages for the online manual. edit here is a shortcut to help you out http://www.meggala.com/book.html

Mine came from Taka Kaira in C's marked box with instructions in Japenese,....easy to sus it out though. No problems after more than 12 months including 5 or 6 sprint sessions and a couple of dozen drag meets.

My c's short shifter has been in for more than a year and it does not rattle at all. Did not have to tear the rubber to fit it....are you guys taking off the gear knob?? dAVE ....if you have a short shift and change back to stock..my bet is you you won't keep it that way very long. The C's shifter has a good shine all the way down to the ball and looks to be billet... the stock shift is sort of nondescript. The important difference is under the ball

If you go in to "swap your plates" doesn't some kind of intuition tell you you'll need to take in the plates you want to swap. Just curious

How strong is the r33 gts-t gear box?
51jay replied to maximajim's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Apparantly it is the same as the GTR box minus the front wheel drive parts. Has a good reputation as a strong gearbox. do a search of this forum there has been plenty of discussion about it -
The lightened flywheel is fine. Some questions have been raised re the advisability of putting lightened pulley wheels on RB series engines.I would investigate fully if I were you

EVO83 I'm betting that around 60% + of the people posting in this forum could have answered that question

quick question for people with carbon fibre bonnet
51jay replied to nicknick's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Hmmmm! You'r an obnoxious little pr*ck aren't you. I've replied to this in the "10 sec GTR" thread in the Forced induction Performance forum as it seemed more appropiate. -
QUOTE=why would you think its people like me that casue police harrasment, for 1 you have no idea who i am, for 2 if you had a car with only little balls you might fo out with a few cars for a cruise and some racing, but obviously your some sour puss that ownes a gemini and likes to keep it as stock as possible, so please keep your mouth shut if you havnt got a comment about the bonnet please, your making yourself out to be something your not, other than a complete pansy..[/quote...... Moved here from the "question about carbon fibre bonnet" thread as this seems more appropiate thread. nicknick: I think its people like you that cause police harrasment for all us import performance car drivers because.... You drive a VERY high profile Jap high performance car ( "10 seccond GTR") and you mention more than once that you enjoy street racing, you leave off your front plate because you are a street racer and you imply that you are not averse to trying to get away if cought by police. These activities are are among those seen by the general public, police and state governments as "hooning" and the harrassment by police in all states of all young people driving modded import cars is a direct reaction to this. Rightly or wrongly we all get tarred with the same brush. If you can't see this then I guess you are thicker than I allready assumed you were. ps I haven't got a Gemini but do have a stock as a rock Camry, is this just as good??

quick question for people with carbon fibre bonnet
51jay replied to nicknick's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
So the cops can't read your rear plate??? Street racing! Confirms my suspicion that you are stupid, If you'r in the habit of acting illegally...you have no valid complaint if the cops adopt the habit of harrassing you. Unfortunately people like you are the basic cause of police harrassment of all of us
