  1. Possibly not you'd have to ask them. In Aus since the upsurge in Jap imports most of them have woken up and have the factory parts cd. Possibly hasn't happened yet in the US. As pointed out earlier in the thread some of the parts are interchangeable with other Nissan models.....the trick is...finding out which they are. If you get stuck I'd be willing to see about getting bits for you.
  2. Any Nissan dealer should be able to supply OEM parts failing that nengun has a good reputation on these forums http://www.nengun.siteblast.com/
  3. You might see this one though.....spot the SAU members http://members.optushome.com.au/jay51/Wed%...%20Aug%2003.jpg

    Why?????

Now you know why he doesn't drive my car anymore
  5. What is this square hole JimX?? if the radiator is open to atmosphere you don't have a pressurised sustem and it will pump coolant out every time you run the engine
  6. Is anyone going to come up with an actual model or part no?? I have a friend who owns a specialist 4x4 workshop and he carries at least half a dozen different clutches for the various year and models of the Patrol, and, they are not interchangeable.
  7. RB20DET....350rwhp? You need to be more descriptive about rebuilding a "high mileage" motor. Add on oil pump, timing belt, big injectors. What is it going in? do you allready have aftermarket fuel pump, FMIC big exhaust and aftermarket ECU ps welcome to the forum, a good search will bring up heaps of info on what you need
  8. Wrapping mild steel pipes can shorten their life due to rust formation. This can be counteracted by adequate pre wrap preparation, ie cleaning and heatproof prime/paint the pipe first. I don't know if the aluminium adhesive tape is effective as an only wrap, it is normally used only for joining and gap sealing. wrapping the manifold should be effective... I've seen mine glowing almost white hot, I believe loosely bagging the turbo is better than trying to wrap it. Although it is said to improve performance, as Sydneykid says... the main reason for wrapping is to reduce under bonnet heat.
  9. I thought the vct on thr RB25 was activated on startup and acted to improve low to midrange torque cutting out at some point in the higher rev range. My EMS computer is supposed to optimise performance by setting the optimum point to cut out the VCT to give the best output for both low and high revs
  10. and rightly so.
  11. JimX Have you tried MRT for a quote on braided lines They are in Ryde. I heard somewhere that the issue in getting them adr approved is in the excessive flex testing they do which work hardens the braid and causes it to break. No way it would happen on a car. If your going non adr approved you could at least ensure that the underlying rubber hose is approved.
  12. While you'r thinking about it .....get in some practice on your downchanging
  13. Bris people the local shell distributer is supposed to be calling me tomorrow with prices for 20L and 205L.
  14. Safra I don't think so unless it's higher compression than normal inwhich case the same thing applies you could run more advanced timing without pinging
  15. 4 Doorz.... for the 3rd time you do NOT need a cams licence to buy Toluene. There are no lead content issues with Toluene. It is sold as a solvent and as such does not attract fuel tax thats's why it is relativly cheap. If you use it as a fuel then you are legally required to contact the appropriate gov dept and pay them the fuel tax due on the amount you use as fuel. The only question is .... is an octane booster counted as fuel.
  16. there is nothing on the parcel shelf. Are you talking about underthe parcel shelf accessible from behind the rear seat back or accessible only from the boot
  17. no it's not
  18. The NGK iridiums are preset to 0.7
  19. Most won't have it those who do will prob only have 4l at comparativly big price....go for it lazybones
  20. I wouldn't go to a hardware, try Shell service station or depot and talk about it as solvent not fuel, or Trade supplies of Automotive paints. Incidently if you want to use it legally as fuel you need to approach the appropriate? Gov dep. and arrange to pay the fuel exise to them on any amounts you buy. I don't know as yet if this applies when you are using it in small amounts as an octane booster. (is fuel tax included in price of retail octane boosters?) Cams licence I believe only applies to leaded fuels
  21. Of course they'r becomming more common. .........A car as good as the Skyline is, for the price you pay.......there are simply more smart people around than you thought
  22. It would take a big effort to get your exhaust temps up around 1000degC your Turbo ex.manifold and dump pipe would be white hot. You can only buy Toluene as 100%. It is labled Methyl Benzine 100% V/V Toluene. I think 4 Doorz supplier was looking for an excuse to stop selling to him at $42/20l as the price elsewhere is now over $50 obviously expensive motoring....has anyone got a hard price on 200L drum 'cause that would be the way to go
  23. You will get 3 trial runs in the am then if you win you run again if you lose you'r out........ it's bracket racing, see you there
  24. Hmmmm!....you'r right......sorry about that.....must be time for new reading glasses
  25. Why don't you talk to Primo he's heading off for Japan on the 10th
