Do they have AutoBarn in Perth $48 for 20L Drum otherwise go to any automotive paint supplier should get same for about same price. BP in Brisbane don't want to know about it.....it's not a fuel.

14.3 @95, 14.6 @ 99.7 ?? 14.8 @ 91 Was very hot, Track temp 42' Iwas leaving after 4 runs at 6.15 pm when a few other Skylines were just arriving. In retrospect I should have stayed on and run acouple more when everything had cooled down a bit. MRE Still behind you in the mph, just couldn't make the 100. I'm really looking forward to Wed night though, should be pay off night GTS-T V Spec and especially Club Sports that do huuuuuge burnouts

Well the tune up + Toluene must have done something. Just back from Willowbank. My previous best 14.8 dropped it to 14.3 good enough to cream 3 x commydoors including a HSV Club Sport 5.0LV8.......Skylines 3...commydoors 0

Don't believe any of the octane booster claims thats why I settled on Toluene, it has a long established history of usage.

Max Boost on stock RB25DET/ Hi-flowed turbo??
51jay replied to 51jay's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for that. I'm using 10% toluene at the drags. I think i'll just leave it on 14psi hi-boost and see what difference it makes. We had a blown oil seal and got it hi-flowed for a price we couldn't refuse -
GTS-T V SPEC How do you work it out ?? I'm using 98 octane for the BP Ultimate and 122 for the Toluene which are the figures they claim and just multiplying and dividing the appropiate numbers

Max Boost on stock RB25DET/ Hi-flowed turbo??
51jay replied to 51jay's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks GTS-T V SPEC, I am aware of all the points you made and fully realise that while the turbo might make 25psi the motor definately won't. the question is what can I safely run it at down the drag strip?? -
OK Guys ......need some imput. R33 turbo has been hi- flowed and they reckon it's good for 25psi all day. But what can I actually run it at with the stock motor?? Got 3inch turbo back exhaust Big front mount I/C EMS Duel Sport engine management, upgraded fuel pump and Sard fuel regulator. I guess I need to decompress the motor to maybe 8.5:1 but until I do this whats it safe to run at. Boost control is turbosmart duel boost currently 7 and 14 psi and seems to work pretty well with no spiking.

If the octane rating of Toluene is really 122 then adding 10% gives 100.4 15% gives 101.6 30% gives 105.2 I've decided to keep the tuning for BP 98 octane and add 10% when racing on full boost as a hedge against detonation

Front 18x8 offset +31 235 40 tyres rear 18x9 offset +34 265 35 tyres Lowered coilover suspension guards aren't rolled they don't touch anywhere anytime Have also had 17x8.5 front 245 40 offset +30 no problems rears 17x9.5 255 40 offset +40 these were ok with stock suspension but touched the bottom of the coil with the coilovers needed to be spaced out by 6mm.

Wrapping the exhaust is fine ,it may shorten the life of the exhaust but its still going to last 5 or 6 years also get some kind of heatshield back on as it mainly shields the turbo which gets pretty hot anyway. My blocked air conditioner drain turned out to be the drain tube where it enters the engine bay had got so hot it melted the tube into a blob so all the condensation(and theres lots of it ) was comming into the car through the a/c vents

where did you put your Apxi rms avcr safc etc
51jay replied to Dragon18's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I had the Apexi RSM mounted in the lid of the little box thing in the centre console. Problem was most of the time you couldn't read it whilst driving....too far from line of sight and reflection problems during day. Now it is on top of the steering column dead centre attached with hook&loop tape. It ocludes the revs from 0 to 2500 otherwise its fine .... any drunk mate who tried to reach it would be out of the car right then and there -
to be really accurate measure the rolling diameter ie....from the ground to the wheel centre then multiply by 2
-
The Apexi default is the factory standard wheel circumference. If your wheel differs from this you have to enter a correction in the setup screen. You need to actually measure your wheel circumference . If you set up with wrong info obviously your readouts will be wrong. Read the instructions again

Isn't the HKS pod a dry filter??
-
If you clamp the line as close to the end as you can you will only lose a few drops of fluid, don't forget to plug the hole in the caliper. In all honesty, having pretty painted brakes that may or may not stop your car in an emergency has to be the ultimate in brain dead RICE. Beg borrow or steal the $5 to fill your reservoir and bleed your brakes properly. If you'r in Brisbane come around and i'll give you some!!!
-
No problem..... just run it out to7800...
-
Toluene.....you'r supposed to put it in your tank....not clean your teeth with it!! You can get it at Autobarn 20L drum $48 it's a heap better than any of the retail octane boosters being pure Methyl Benzine. Now the hot weather is here I add 5L to my tank when I go to the drags or racetrack as a hedge against detonation.I think this gives an octane rating of 99.8. incidently none of the BP servos I enquired at could supply it .
-
Just for starters ....what condition is your fuel filter in
-
Hmmmm ! well mine hasn't got one
-
Inark I wouldn't want to gazump you,so only if you definately can't get it I'm interested. We have a blown R33 turbo ( IC full of oil) and I'm just considering what to do Highflow it and go to a steel wheel or scrap it and go for an aftermarket upgrade. My aim is to be able to run mid 12's. I've got the IC and exhaust and ECU management, now seems like the time to take the next step. Anyone got suggestions????
-
Uas is the only place I know that supplies them and unless your car is stock I don't know how they can get the holes for the pipeing in the right place . I got one and it never even looked like fitting, Best way is to make your own using aluminium backed foam. it's much easier to work with than rigid material and you can close it off completely.

At $105 for a total 21 laps it's a bit exxy though........... Makes you realize what a bargain that day at Morgan Park was ...whole day for $45. we should try to organise that again, but maybe in a cooler season. MRE..... hehehe....you might have gone faster if you weren't wearing ladies driving gloves, oops!! did I forget to tell you :shake:
-
Expensive !! exchange rate today 68.7 Y to the $A so 2 18x8 at Y55000 is $A1601 2 18x9 at Y57000 is $A 1659 so all up $A 3260.00 + freight I got mine used of course from Primo. Then the tyres of your choice another $1200- $2000. Did you see the white GTR go off the end of the straight? He said he just touched 220kph then nil brakes!!!!!

Very professional....looking good You need to partition them off so they suck cool air instead of nasty engine bay air. Just looking at your pics an easy way to do it might be to separate the filters from the adapter tubes and place your partition so it sits against the flange of the tubes, cut holes for the air intakes then use longer bolts to put your filters backon with the partition sandwiched between them and the flanges. would make for a nice simple job. Good luck
