HEY - if this actuator is highly recommended for long term use? like if i put it in ill keep it that way for at least 6months, until which i will change my turbo im sure. and IF i do it that way where would I buy one from? and yes if HE or someone can set it up for me in my car i can offer $$$ or some cans ur way for the job Is it constant at 10psi or does it change psi? I would like 10psi constant and to kick in sooner and better providing it is fine for LONG TERM USE

Good Morning My name is Mike, I own an R33 turbo, It is running completely stock turbo at 5psi and rather average in response; mods apart from factory specs are FMIC/3inch turbo back xhaust with hi flo cat and K&N Air filter is all to my knowledge. I have been told by a few ppl that it can be boosted up to 10/11 safely on my stock turbo engine and running gear. Unfortunately I have no boost controller or timer in the car and I have no idea what to do to change the boost and timing for the car! If someone has a cheap but decent reliable way of upping the boost and timing for the car i.e with a aftermarket boost controller or R32 actuator I have been reading about? I am in no way mechanical, I am a computer guy, so I merely drive and usually get mechanics to work on my cars BUT id prefer if someone local and trustworthy could possibly come to my local area WEST SUBS of Adelaide and assist, I am willing to pay for boost controller if need be and even offer cigarettes or beer in return for your time - THAT is the aussie way after all. On the other hand the car does require a full service i.e drop/drain oils and replace filter and leads etc if need be, AGAIN i have no idea what to do, but would love it if someone could help or do it for me in their spare time? IT IS JUST A THOUGHT before anyone goes jumping at me, just an idea to help a fellow skyline owner who would like to possibly learn while you work, so I can do it one day myself, because most mechanics just do the job and dont really explain exactly what has been done, therefore I never learn anything. ANYWAYS if you cant actually COME around and help, maybe explain to me in DETAIL the best reliable way to get the extra boost and performance from my car. JUST AFTER some friendly advice for a NEWBIE

Hi, just wondering if anyone has a front bar to fit R33 S1 coupe, my current one has a few cracks in it and might be easier to replace, i have a FMIC so the bar may need to be big enough for that, just chasing prices, if possible in color GREY code KH2. preferably all ready to go rather then have to paint? factory bar or aftermarket? thanks

seems about right, have been told the same, some leak from rocker cover gasket, need changing - how serious is something like this? and the tie rod ends and bushes are common as always too ive been told. general wear and tear need replacing on most cars. -
Hi, again thanks for the advice, but I am unsure who it was that looked at my car and told me the oil was low I just looked this morning before I went out, and the dipstick is full oil like 6inchs along the dipstick except its darker then brown, close to black, in saying that I believe it would be due for a service and change! BUT isnt it true that MOST service centre put crap oil into the car like semi synth? anyways I went to my local repco and they actually have BOTH Motul 8100 Xcess & Motul 300V chrono which I believe are the best oils on the market for my RB25DET.... I want to get a service done but use these oils to fill the engine and then continue to use them as I have heard good reviews. thanks, on the other hand my auto trans fluid was low so I put some more into that and see how it goes, I now know it must be DEX III not the other crap as I was told by the service guy at repco based on the books he has for the RB25DET. thanks again, if ANYONE in Adelaide knows of a good place for service prices and reliability do tell. OR feel free to offer your services as I am not a mechanic in anyway shape or form I am WEST SUBS of ADEL

HI, i just got the car and checked the dipstick, the car was cold but it looked low on the stick, and ALOT of ppl have been talking about needing to use a certain type of oil and consistency etc, ive heard castrol and shell helix is shite? but as long as its 10-40 or 10-60 should be fine, just thought it needed to be GOOD brands

Hi, Im newbie to this forum and to skylines in general, I have an R33 S1 - RB25DET and its running low on oil, I would like to know whats the best oil to use; to keep the engine running good and to make the engine run nicer, i want good quality oil for my skyline as the engines not the best atm and needs some TLC to make it happy again. I understand, i should read each post and make my own decision, but I am asking for actual first hand responses from people who own an R33 and auto and to keep it running long term.

true, well I took my car to the local import specialist and he told me some things and he was telling me, yes the car was NA factory but he says there has just been a RB25DET put in the car, the rest is stock, 4 stud, no lsd, no boost controllers all stock auto. but im telling you he said it was 5PSI and it was only 134rwkw, and I plan to get it boosted to 10 as its only average atm like up to 60ks its average, so I am going to get them to boost it to 10PSI.

WELL mine is auto and stock turbo and ecu and the guy who did the dyno said its at running at 5psi stock s1 r33 (no boost controller), and going to get it boosted to 10psi, becoz 5 is okay but average in low rpm

okay well im all new to this... i was under the impression it was in the comp... they said they can put the boost to 10/11 psi rather then 5, for like $200 something to do with the dyno or some thing, my turbo is stock rb25det and no boost controllers. it runs stock 5psi, but i want 10/11 which is max ive been told from a stock turb..

hi guys I have a S1 auto coupe rb25det r33 and it is running 5psi stock and average in low range rpm but after 4500 it opens up nice, I want to have it boosted to 10/11 standard instead of 5. I have been told by local mechanic they can remap the comp and make the turbo run 10psi and it will increase my stock rwkw by at least 30... but ive now been reading about an rb20 actuator? is it as simple as plug in and thats it, I mean just take out my actuator and put in this rb20 one? and then the car will run 10psi standard or???? can someone explain it plzzzzzzzz

just double checked... 3inch all the way from the turbo back and 3inch hi flo cat. and FMIC. so should go alright with the boos up to 10/11 psi?>>> -
heeeey I am new to SAU and I do own an r33, BUT i wont be entering it this year, anyways I want to know if people from the public can go to this event and watch it like spectators at any drag/drift day? I would love to know how much it would cost per day or for the WHOLE weekend for an adult or 2 just to watch and be able to look at the beauty of the cars and enjoy the day without having to race or enter their car? that is my main concern?

Thanks, I will definitely look into it soon, so 10 PSI will mean it sits at 10psi when it boosts, and what should i get in rwkw as its now at the 134, I am hoping to get at least 165rwkw by doing this~! and true i am not after mad power maybe max 200rwkw for the present. what exactly do they do, the mechanic says they have to do a dyno and change the boost etc to make the car run at 10/11psi rather than the current PSI and should get around 30rwkw?? for about $200 job -

Hi, well i was sure that is the number i was told by the mechanic who did the check over of my car and the dyno, but either way i got dyno print out at 134rwkw and was told i could get 170rwkw just by upping the boost to 10/11 PSI, my question is, is that safe and reliable to be running 10/11 psi as standard with all standard engine components except the FMIC and K&N, theres no work done to the motor all stock rb25det, IS IT SAFE to have the turbo set at 10/11 and use it like that as a daily driver for say 12months or more without needing to change anything, I am unsure? -
HI, i am new to skylines and I own an R33 RB25DET, completely stock turbo standard at only 135rwkw - Im sure this would class as stock/standard class. ANYWAYS my main question is, for spectators and people wishing to just watch and enjoy the event without entering a car is this possible? and where would we go to buy tickets as spectators for such an event? I am in Adelaide but would love to know costs for this event asap. thank you reply or PM asap

Okay that might be what they meant, they just said dyno + up the boost to max 10/11 and would get at least 30rwkw without changing anything else. PS its all new to me mate, BUT is the current 134rwkw normal and okay for stock 5psi standard RB25DET? -

hey, still looking, but got a dyno, all stock running 5psi thru the ecu (no turbo timer or boost gauge) only mods are FMIC, K & N filter, 3inch exhaust and cat. I got a basic 134rwkw on stock 5psi dyno run on AUTOMATIC transmission. have been told with another dyno tune and change the ecu settings to 10/11 psi and should get an extra 30rwkw without any mods or changes to the car. is that normal?
