  1. hi im new to skyline aus, im proud owner of 93 rb25det gts conversion. to finalise the conversion I require a few parts, currently looking at whats available and prices I would be chasing.   2. thanks for the heads up any help advice appreciated..... this is a work in progress, luckily its all stock but I will look into the diff and brakes ASAP, p.s is there a brand of diff, does it have to be from R33 or from Skyline or can it be from silvias? (newbie)

Ok thanks, well its all new to me, so yes I have alot to learn, and I may have got stung but I did get car abit cheaper so it will be worth it in the end, but at least i know it is a GTS with a DET engine setup put in. and hub and rotor setup id have to get back to you on, theres a few things I have to get done first with the car, and I am in SA, anyways I will get back to you, if I was going to go down the path of the 5 stud and the turbo brakes etc then I would be able to sell the wheels to pay for the brakes. anyways I will get back to you if I need. thanx
  5. maybe so BUT it went through rwc like 2yrs ago and hasnt been changed since, and it hasnt been defected or picked on in the whole time. but I will take your word and hope. ALSO my rims you cant see the studs without removing the circle cover over the hub. but thanks again. I'll take it as it comes.

Hi, ended up going to boostworx off port wakefield road cavan, behind cross keys hotel. they were good at their job, just took abit longer, but was expected as they had like a dozen cars there. made a detailed report and a list of things that may need attention, i'll have to sort out one by one. anyways thanks guys.
  7. Hi guys thanks for all the info. the car has been through regency in Adelaide and all passed legalities 2yrs ago when it came over from VIC, so in SA its all legit and completely stock. UPDATE: I had the car checked over by a local import workshop and they said yes the brakes are non turbo and the engine is a DET that has been put into the NA shell as it has 4 stud. Its not safe but in no way defectable, its all standard height, standard turbo, and as a guy said cops will see it as a factory GTST. and powerwise is not an issue, its completely standard only 5psi, and dyno showed 135rwkw, so the power is not an issue, nor the brakes at the moment. I understand if I was going to go as far as 200+ rwkw then i would spend the money on the hubs and brakes. there was a few other issues with rods and rubbers that need to be addressed first. THE mechanic says 135rwkw is fine as stock, but a dyno tune and change the ecu setup and the boost to the max of 10-11psi of the stock turbo, and I could make 160-170 rwkw before needing to upgrade the turbo or engine. THIS is my first skyline and I wanted it stock, so i could decide if i would like to work it up or just keep it reasonably stock. I dont race or drift, I drive it around the city, on various car cruises and car scenes, ** I did not buy it to race so I am not worried about huge power, maybe 200rwkw - whatever can be done without having to change the inside of the engine or the driveline too much - that is all I need ** any more info or advice on what i can do next is greatly appreciated!!!   9. i Just started this threat for some helpful friendly advice and information, I am new to skylines and my first one, so of course i made a mistake hoping it was a genuine GTST - shit happens, at the end of the day its still a skyline r33 and still a turbo so its basically the same as a GTST, i am happy anyways I got a deal either way was off an old guy, only got 180,000ks on it, pretty neat in and out, came with turbo FMIC, SUPER ADVAN Racing Ver.2 wheels, 3inch full exhaust, all the good bits to start my project off LIFE GOES ON! Getting a DYNO soon

Hey thnx, I kind of guessed it was a stock standard turbo on it, it just doesnt make much sense to buy a GTS and put a turbo motor in, or add a turbo, why not buy a stock GTST ?? and that means to me, the car is probably not worth as much as id hoped if its not a factory GTST but a GTS with a turbo?
  11. at first i thought it was factory turbo, until I had a look at the plate and it says RB25DE.. but then when I asked the people to put my VIN through fast ECRXXX they said it didnt work? and they kept saying ECR must be a turbo model, but then I have been researching to find that ECR33 could also be GTS25-S which is like the GTS but the RB25 engine, and the coupe and the auto. so I guess its safe to say my car was factory NA and was later converted to RB25DE+T but I will definitely get a full check and dyno asap to find out for sure what kind of turbo it is as you cannot see the actual inside of the turbo etc. hard to explain, but i guess thats the best i can do to say its GTS25-S

I am unable to find engine numbers, there is like NO room near engine, theres everything next to the engine and I dont know where to look, i know what the plates say, and the rego, i know it must be turbo it has a large FMIC under the bumper and big piping going under each end of the front bar to the FMIC, strangely though the battery is in the boot...... I JUST want to know if it was factory turbo or not? and why the vin doesnt seem to come up? is it a GTS-T if so why does the vin say RB25DE and not DET? does anyone know, can anyone find the vin? ECR33-O16380

OKAY well the brakes i have are slotted rotors? the wheels I have are SUPER ADVAN Racing Ver.2, all i can count is 4 studs? gearbox is auto, has 2nd/3rd/Drive gears, the intercooler takes up the whole front bumper? and has pipes going down each side of the front bumper? the air filter box is there but the rest of the CAI isnt..? its all been registered and been thru regency.. and im sure it is a turbo.. did you get PHOTOS to ur email????

  15. thanks, but I cant get under the engine to see, the car kit is too low, i have engine number on the rego papers all it says is RB25076XXXX - but the plates say ECR33 and RB25DE, and as i said its a coupe and automatic, im starting to believe it was a factory GTS25-S or GTS-4 and then a turbo was put on or yes an engine was put in later.. but the car went thru regency in the last 2-3yrs with this engine I know that much....
  16. the blue plate says ECR33 XXXXXX then below it has model code and then it says RB25DE - 2498cc the wheels are the blue rim advan racing, not sure what stud pattern as I just got the car and wanting to find out more info. are the pics any good? im sure it is turboed and it has FMIC, but i wanted to know for sure if it was GTST or just GTS with turbo?

  18. hi, I have registration papers with that 6E91 vin number, I have now taken photos of the vin from japan, and it definitely says ECR33, could it be the GTS4 it is the RB25DE engine and it is coupe and auto, it may be the GTS25, my main point is, does the vin plate says RB25DET if its turbo or does it just say RB25DE? I am confused, I have all the paperwork, and the original owners 'National Warranty Company' booklet for victorians, as this car was bought in VIC and transferred through regency to SA, as i have the regency papers. I just want to know if its a factory GTST or a GTS or GTS25 or what? different people are telling me, different things. if someone is able to email me privately i could send them the photos of the VIN and COMPLIANCE plates? thanks

  20. hi, incorrect my car is 2door, is automatic, is skyline r33, it has hicas, the vin says ECR33-016380 - checked a few times. then the green vin starts with 6E91xxxxxxxx05053 the plate also has written under the ECR33 GGKBRNTNR33EDAA KH2 K RB25DE AGAIN I AM CONFUSED.
  21. Hi, I am new to skylines and this site, I have just purchased what I thought was a factory skyline r33 with rb25det. After looking at the engine bay, I have found two plates, one is blue from japan and starts with ECR33, the other is green and is an import plate, and the vin starts with 6E91MPORT - I have been searching these forums frantically for some explanation. The car is definitely an r33, it is a coupe, it is automatic, it does have HICAS, it does have a FMIC and i'd say a turbo by the feel and the sound and the power. but the plates are confusing. I know the engine is RB25 and 2500 I can read, I am just not overly mechanical, and I want to know if someone can decode the VIN or someone works for nissan and can tell me the situation, and why my important plate starts with 6E91 instead of 6U9 etc all i can read is that the car was imported 1998, and it says U.S import, but I am in Australia, this is all new to me, can somebody reply or PM me asap or even email me asap! I need to know if i have an R33 GTST and the plates are meant to say RB25de regardless if its turbo or NA, or if infact I have an RB33 GTS or GTS25. I would like any help I can get, the FMIC and the turbo look completely stock, there is no boost controller or turbo timer that I can see, but there is definitely POWER! thanks
  22. hope someone can help just purchased an r33 and it has two plates, blue and green, and a silver plate in the middle with the VIN the numbers i have from the jap blue plate is ECR33-016380 hope thats enough info?
  23. Hi everybody, I have just bought myself a 1993 R33 GTS-T 2 Door Auto 190,000km, body kit, all stock turbo, FMIC, slotted rotors all round. Anyways It is my first ever skyline, and I have alot to learn I know. I just want to know if anyone can help me, I live in Adelaide, and want to know where is the best/most reliable place to get these skylines serviced and tuned? I was told it has new coil packs and new brakes, but I want to know IF i need to take the car to a nissan service place, or a jap car place or if any adelaide people can actually tell me where to go, I am willing to travel anywhere over adelaide, currenly located West Lakes area. Just being my first skyline, i dont want to be paying for things i dont need want a proper service and diagnostics asap. I will post pics if you like or pm me for more info.? thanks MIKE
