  2. ok so my mate just picked up his rb25 gearbox from a carting company who transported it from NSW to SA and when he went and got it he seen that is has been dropped and the bell housing has been smashed so we want to know if it is possible to swap a rb25 bellhousing with a rb30 one?
  3. oh i see, ok duly noted
  4. definitely not a trap, just sick of shitty commodore cruises and want to go on a half decent one haha
  5. Just wanted to know if anyone would be interested in going for a cruise on either the 2nd or 3rd weekend of november? either a day or night cruise, what ever suits most people. Also any suggestions on places to go would be appreciated
  6. well when he got the manifold off we placed it on the table and noticed that only the top right corner and about 1/3 of the bottom left corner were the only bits touching the table lol
  7. same thing happened to me so i took it to an exhaust shop, turns out i had a warped manifold and a couple of broken exhaust studs so you might wanna check that as well
  8. ok so i know this probs isnt the right place to post this but my r32 blew the welsh plug at the back of the head the other day so i just wanted to know if there is anyway i can replace this with out taking the head off or the motor out? and if so how do i go about it? the car has a twincam rb30 in it if that helps at all??
  9. twincam rb30 in a r32 and yeah well if i have to take the engine out i might as well double check everything
  10. ok so a couple of days ago now i was driving down the road and heard a pop noise so i looked in my rear view mirror and i see a whole pile of steam behind me. So i drove the car home seeing as i was at the end of my street and popped the bonnet to see where it was coming from but i couldnt see a dam thing so i just let it sit there over night wondering what could have blown. next morning i walked out side and had a look, checked all of the hoses and everything but couldnt find a thing till i checked the welsh plug at the back of the head and to my surprise apparently i blew the whole middle of the welsh plug out and only the outside ring is left so my question is, is there anyway i can replace this without taking the whole engine out? or am i just gonna have to suck it up and remove the engine?
  11. well i took it to my mechanic around the corner from my work and he says that the gasket where the top of the inlet manifold joins to the bottom of the inlet manifold is pretty much gone so im gonna replace that tomorrow and see if thats where it is loosing presure from also there shouldnt be any leaks on the exhaust side of the engine as i have just had the manifold machined, new mls gasket and all new studs/nuts. well atleast id hope there is no leak
  12. ok so i checked the waste gate and apperently it was stuck shut so that explains the over boosting problem but i still get that slow spool but i guess that means that there would hae to be a leak somewhere right ?
  13. ok ill reset the ecu when i get home from work and see if that helps with anything and yes i did have a look at the compressor wheel while the pipe was off and the blades are all fine and there is no play at all i will also check the waste gate to see if thats opening or closing the whole way as well but it just doesnt make sence to me as to why it would spool up so much quicker with the manual boost controller in thanks for the help guys
  14. ok so i have checked everyting, no pipes are loose, replaced the pipe that goes from the afm to the turbo with a metal one so it doesnt colapse, checked the cat to see if its colapsed and it turns out its just a decat pipe with a cat sheild around it and cleaned the filter the car idles fine and doesnt miss a beat at all and there is no smoke when i put my foot down either i replaced the actuator with the one from my r32 that was on 10psi to see if that was the problem but now its spooling to 16psi @ 6000rpm how do i go about resetting the ecu?
  15. ok i did what you said to do but yet it still does the exact same thing as before like not spooling up quickly, also there is alot less induction noise then before
  16. ok so i have a series 1 r33 gts-t with fmic, full 3" zorst, new 0.8mm plugs and new spitfire coils. i recently installed a aftermarket boost gauge and realised that my car was running about 14 psi with that standard turbo so i turned down the manual boost controller so it was running the stock boost again but now the boost guage doesnt start reading 7psi till it hits about 5500rpm where as when it was on 14psi it would hit about 11psi at 4000rpm. also when i change gear it takes alot longer to come back onto boost as well what could be causing it so spool so much slower on just the stock boost level?
