  1. Belts are great when used properly! I agree using them for every exercise is stupid! I use a belt for 1RM deadlift and squats only. I was taught by Nathan Baxter at a deadlift seminar how to actually use the belt properly and how to breathe into your belly, rather than into your chest. It's helpful as I'm also a lean build.

  7. I have spotted people at my gym benching 150kg Nick. If you position yourself with one foot in front of the other and lift the bar straight up if you need to with a mixed grip it's not hard...
