  1. Maybe the snow with JDM's are more susceptible to rust, now I sound like an ADM tosser
  2. Is it shabby GTR registered? At least he uses it and gets to enjoy it I guess. Bob, what is the price tag on that nice GTR up for sale?
  3. Bob I think you found your fate, restoration fantastic end result!
  4. I have 3 kids so the bigger car is more appealing and I'll be driving it everyday mainly Sydney metro but occasionally up and down the coast (I'm a BDM). We have a Forester XT which is the dedicated family car. I have an automatic Ralliart Magna which is an 02 model and that is a lot of fun to drive, angry little thing. Manual for everyday is no good for me as I'm on the phone and GPS etc
  5. I've had over 15 cars myself and many motorbikes. I've owned a vl which was good. I know what u mean about having a performance and runaround car, I won't be selling my GTR
  6. Thanks for the tip. Been looking here and the car doesn't really rate that high hmmmm: http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/nissan/maxima/2004/single-page/
  7. I too am a fan of local cars due to cheap maintenance etc BUT I do like my jap cars as well. I was looking at a VZ SV6 which is also nice.
  8. V35 is nice but the maxima is well priced, I don't want to go more than 5.5k
  9. Hi guys, I'm thinking about getting a Nissan maxima but the earlier model 2004 which has a 4 speed auto (not the later model with CVT tranny). Interested to see if there are any owners on here and also opinions on this car? Should I shouldn't I? The purpose of the car is for everyday driving. Thanks.
  10. How do u mean engines were hand built by technicians? If it needs a rebuild, wouldn't u just pull it down like an rb26?
  11. It really is a wolf in sheep's clothing, look kinda odd as well. They run 14sec qtr mile and sprint 0-100 in 6sec so it's surprising just how many cars want to race me. They won't pick on me in my Godzilla though
  12. What exactly are these carbon issues though? Sounds crazy or unexplainable to me. I ended up buying a magna, yes it's a magna haha BUT it's a ralliart which is #418 of 500 and drives well. They cam out of the factory with stainless headers and aggressive automatic...I know it sounds funny but it is awesome. I retain my values though with my ADM R32GTR
  13. thanks guys for the feedback - "self healing paint?" pls elaborate looks like i need to stay away from cvt...i will.
  14. hi guys, ive owned my r32gtr for 10yrs & looking at a runaround car as i am sales rep on the road driving all over sydney and occasionally rural / act. should i look at the V35 as i wonder if parts & upkeep is similar to that of the gtr (to me, maintaining the gtr is not an issue). if i take this path, should I go for a 250gt (158kw), 300gt (191kw), 350gt (205kw) or 350gt-8 (200kw)? also, why is it that the 350gt-8 seems to sell cheaper than the 350gt? as i understand, the 350gt-8 has an 8 speed cvt transmission...are they reliable? i wonder if this tranny sounds like the toyota prius tranny which sounds like 1 constant gear (like a train)...
  15. U have pushed the envelope with your JDM Bob, looks great
  16. As a benchmark, the hi octane r32 GTR ran a 9.7 qtr mile with only 440kw and the car is setup for circuit (not a drag setup). I also ran an 11.1 with only 325kw I crossed the line in 3rd gear and hit the limiter so that setup capable of a high 10!
  17. I've never seen one of these before, very cool
  18. Very tidy. Why do those number plates look familiar? Maybe from a photo shoot...
  19. RBF600 is very hard to get but I finally found it, I used just over 1 bottle and the job is done! Bleeding the calipers was very easy, however, bleeding the ABS was a challenge with the bubbles in the front nipple, rear nipple on ABS was easy though. I followed the sequence as per workshop manual as I used to always apply pressure THEN release the nipple...with the GTR it's not necessary and in fact can be done with 1 person. You simply hold the peddle down for 3 sec then release and repeat this step until no more bubbles.
  20. I got a couple of kiwi mates, they think they're rappers when on the piss haha, top blokes though
  21. Thanks guys, I sourced a replacement already as I was in a mad rush
