I agree with you Merli, emails can be read in the wrong context I would assume that the majority like bottom/mid range power whereas the minority (such as myself) like top end power which is the same group of gtr owners with single top mounts Who cares at the end of the day really, as long as the car puts a smile on your face & has the capability of making you break into a sweat at times.

I guess any 'larger than standard' turbos will perform better with an increased capacity bottom end but in discussing this topic I think that 362awkw with 800Nm is quite an achievement on a stock 2.6ltr - yes it is all up & over 5000rpm thru to 8500rpm so the larger bottom 'would' beef up the low rpm... guys, anyone here know of any gtr's with the gtss &/or gtrs setup that have recorded 1/4 mile times? im am interested in seeing this information as im sure others are as well... marko

Hi "kabab"You now also have 1st hand experience of just how good Jim @ CRD is with his dyno tuning - proof with your back to back comparison tuning with other GTR tuners 'so to speak...' He is the guru!!! I back this statement up with my personal experience Congrats on your results mate Marko.

Hi guys, I still have the following parts left... Any offers out there??? I'd rather see them go to good use than sit here with the chance of my parents throwing them out 1 day from shear frustration, this has occured once before Regards, Marko. 0404 884 876 -

Hi Peter, the clutch is a push type - the actual pedal weight is surprisingly light, feels very springy & firm. i drove it everyday in sydneys bumper to bumper peak hour traffic & it was very driveable, you will not have a problem with this clutch whatsoever! regards, marko 0404 884 876 -
Cam Gear & Dyno Tuning Results @ Croydon Racing Development
Marko R1 replied to Marko R1's topic in New South Wales
sorry guys but the contention here seems to be between the BEL customers & the CRD customers LOL i seriously find this quite amusing almost like the "falcadores race" (aka v8 supercars) with the rivalry between the holdens & fords...as long as we are all in the race we should be happy with that! Lets not let it get out of control like my other post. Marko. -

yes 23psi is big boost but i have accomodated this with a metal head gasket to drop compression. Jim tuned it to what he called a 'safe boost' for my engine & setup...being an Australian delivered it is mechanically healthy & strong. -

'Beer Baron'... i'll ask Jim for this dyno graph. Paul 'Dirt Garage'... how can I forget the phone call after my 1st post when i opened a can of worms with which tuner do i select Marko. -
Cam Gear & Dyno Tuning Results @ Croydon Racing Development
Marko R1 replied to Marko R1's topic in New South Wales
Hi guys, Many q's to answer so bear with me... - boost is set @ 23psi - afr's is a consistent 12:1 - standard bottom end the cars response on the street? i have obviously selected top end delivery turbos which dictates my setup, mid range does not hold high boost but it is totally driveable, really starts pushing @ around 4500rpm then absolutely cracks from 5000rpm-8500rpm...if you are after bottom end power you're much better off with a v8! there is no 'wobbling' in the power delivery, the curve looks as it is because when it was on full song the car was literally dancing on the 4 wheel rollers. (correct me if i'm wrong please Jim) the car is running r34 wheels (18inch) i measured this with the 16inch r32 wheels & they are about 1inch taller in overall height. Paul (dirtgarage) i did take Jim's advice as gospel & changed the boost controller to the blitz sbc1diii (dual solenoid) last week. I don't have a dyno graph with y-axis thats displays speed, I will ask Jim for this though. $400 is what I paid additional to CRD for an extra 100Nm of torque, you tell me if that was a worthwhile exercise (i.e. adjusting the cam gears) Yes it is over $1000 for a dyno tune & cam gear adjustment with CRD in comparison to $800 for a road & dyno tune - why would anyone with common sense bother... Merli - if Jim wants to change the oil & spark plugs there is obviously a very good reason for this, as you stated when a gtr is making this kind of power it does become a 'highly strung' power plant, taking short cuts here would bite you hard. I don't know why ppl think CRD is out there to rip others off, an expert service reaps a larger cost & a fantastic result...use the analogy of wanting to buy a 4 bedroom home for the price of a 2 bedder, the only way you will get this is if the house is totally run down & poorly maintained. YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET, SIMPLE AS THAT!!! I've been stung twice before, now thankfully I have found a workshop that I can trust & feel comfortable with. Regards, Marko. -
I am extremely happy, it drives like a standard GTR @ 60kmh in 5th gear (1300rpm) 2nd gear breaks traction at all 4’s on shear acceleration J Please refer to attached graph, this is my 4 wheel dyno tune figure by CRD on the 20th June (my birthday)… THE CAM GEAR DEBACLE…now proven! I was there from start to finish & saw the comparable difference. The red line (on the graph) is tuned with cam gears at 0 degrees The blue line (on the graph) is with tuned cam gears - keep in mind I do have the poncams…what a difference! Jim has made an additional 100Nm without sacrificing top end delivery… This proves that adjustable cam gears do make the difference & that Jims dyno tune has made a massive difference in torque! Only the experienced guru’s of the industry are aware of this advantage. I also had a long discussion about road tuning with Jim – he is of the opinion that you cannot simulate ‘load tuning’ i.e. load tuning at various rpm’s for a specified time period, where can you do this on the road & how can you road tune a car under load? At the end of the day Jim has 15 years experience with GTR tuning & the experience alone is working with all facets such as drag, targa, circuit, national teams, race production class etc….who else in Australia works alongside with top tuners in Japan & national racing teams? I guess this is why he is the busiest workshop in Australia, just have a look at the number of performance cars he has in his workshop & yard (over 30 cars). YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET – yes other tuners are cheaper but you will not reach the maximum potential if cam gears are not adjusted to suit the setup. The way I see it, if you are prepared to spend over 10k on an engine then investing another $400 additional for a proper tune is the way to go… Question: would you pay the small difference in tuning for an extra 100Nm of torque? I am not here to convince you or sell CRD but I did want to share my experience with you as I am extremely happy with the outcome. Thank you Jim Regards, Marko 0404 884 876
