  1. True, I did mention in another thread that I could run additional inputs BUT the onboard 2.5bar sensor will not support >22psi which are the key reasons why I upgraded to the Blackbox. The other reason is that it records any data in case of an accident whilst in flight mode Unigroup obviously pick up enough work without the need for further marketing which is an enviable position to be in.
  2. Thanks for the info guys, they are the first version arms. Do they bend on the GTR as well? This is obviously concerning... Here comes the something I cannot explain. I have reinstalled the factory upper arms which measure approx 175mm centre to centre from the pivot holes (versus the uas arms which measure approx 155mm centre to centre) yet with the factory arms camber is huge as the top of the rims sit about 10mm furtherinside the guard!?
  3. Hi guys, I removed my front upper control arms but not 100% certain how they sit back in the car...if I look at fitting the left arm first, I think the cotter pin sits on the inside of the strut with the small nut facing down, is this correct? Also, do I fit them as pictured where the pin mounts are offset or do I spin the unit on its thread axis 180 degrees so that the pin mounts are aligned to the each on the face side?
  4. +1 as there is nothing worse than slandering workshops.
  5. Thanks for the compliment Mick The guys too were impressed with the results and exceeded their expectations, the head is stock! Literally just has some bolt on mods, very mild setup. Brett - it does skids only with the handbrake haha, I'm sure u would be happy that I followed suit with Paul and replaced my GTRS's so now u can update your Sig
  6. ^ yes on both accounts Dave and Terry.
  7. ^ that would be very interesting as I too have spent a bomb on some mods for little gain and vice versa, what I will say is the money I spent recently was worth every cent.
  8. Here u go: 429.6kw @ 25/26psi (e60) 412.8kw @ 25/26psi (e31) 405.6kw @ 20 psi (e60) 399.7kw @ 25/26psi (e18) There is more in it once I go to e85 but I don't think I need it. I might treat it as another safety parameter.
  9. I can take a pic of the dyno graph and post it? Made 430kw on a boost level which fluctuates between 25-26psi. My goal was mid 300's but I hit that pretty easily with about 380kw on 98 with 22psi...then I got onto the good stuff (ethanol) and exceeded my expectations. Funnily enough, I really enjoy driving it on low boost setting (14psi gate pressure).
  10. Thanks, much appreciated
  11. Sounds good Mick. I've got a single pump running on the surge tank and want to run 2 pumps in parallel. I'll buy an 044 and once I have it, I'll remove the surge tank and come to you, where are u based?
  12. Iron Mike?
  13. Where is Trav from?
  14. I will but I need the services of your mate to modify the surge tank, was it micko?
  15. Mark and Yavus gave me the option of keeping the Vipec or run the Blackbox. Explanation was that I was stuck in a 50/50 situation whereas most workshops would try upsell from the onset. Very honest guys again, customer service prevails!
  16. Thanks Joe. I could have run an external map sensor and auxillary for additional outputs but I decided to bite the bullet...Better long term path is what I took as I wouldn't mind running a Zeitronix AFM. I definitely don't regret it
  17. Spot on
  18. Hi guys, I wanted to share my & experience with Unigroup who recently worked on my GTR - I think these guys are the unsung heroes as I always knew about them but to put it simple, they are smaller than most workshops, don't really market themselves & most of their work is generated from word of mouth & recommendation (I now understand why they have a massive SAU fan base). I wanted to run a 'flex tune' as I have always ran 98 so I took it into Mark (Yavus's right hand man) who was my first point of contact - Mark always had time to chat for as long as I wanted to talk, very accommodating as you won't get better customer service...from here, I decided to move away from my Vipec ECU to their BlackBox ECU as I ran out of inputs & the onboard map sensor supported the additional boost I required (plus it has other cool features such as fuel temp compensation) - this is Unigroups baby Don't mean to rant too much but the car really is incredible - cold starts like my Subaru Forester, revs are more responsive & general cruising again is like a factory car! I am obviously ecstatic with the end result hence why I wanted to shine the light on this workshop, really, Mark & Yavus are top blokes to deal with & it was very apparent to me from the onset that they are not the run of the mill workshop as they remind me of a bunch of mad scientists (just like that character 'Doc' from Back to the Future). Paul - thanks for convincing me Here is a thread on the ECU: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/426519-blackbox-ecu-m3/
  19. not yet mate - i'll run it low as its currently running e30, then i'll bump it up to e60 with caltex eflex. yavus prefers that i dont run e85 (united) until i beef up the fuel system, he will then touch it up on the dyno.
  20. Update guys! I had my blackbox fitted to my GTR (to clarify, these ecu's are known as N61 and not M3) and I am extremely impressed!!! After discussing further with piggaz, he tried to explain the differences in terms of driveability and now I get it...the throttle is very blippy and revs faster (I know it sounds silly), cold starts are phenomenal and general cruising honestly feels like a factory car - this ecu was built for this application. I had it tuned by Yavus and I am very happy with the end result, in fact, my car was the first where they mapped the boost level versus ethanol content which basically means that I cannot over boost on low ethanol fuel (another safety parameter) + I have the manual override boost switch for valet parking All in all, this ecu is nicer than my vipec and more feature rich (win win). Paul, am I missing any other detail which I have left out?
  21. Here is another from an sau owner: Check out this Nissan Skyline. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-1991/SSE-AD-2523234
  22. How about Alex (I think that was his name?)...did he end up selling his adm? It's no longer on carsales though
  23. I had custom tuned length front pipes on my GTR years ago, it definitely kept the gearbox oil warm
  24. Sounds unreal under load, u running an external gate right?
  25. 14k is getting up there. If u could a second hand stock box for $700, u could go thru 20 of these...what a great option
