  1. yeah my mate also has an evo - 8 mr & that had 300awkw, best way to describe it was like a little angry bulldog...very quick, nimble & changes direction like a go kart...it acutally converted me as i was looking at buying an evo a couple yrs back but i couldnt let my old 32 slide as for pauls car, it seems like he did the rounds yesterday he offered the keys to me as i let him drive my rb30dett when i had it done BUT tbh, that back right wheel scared the hell out of me mate - i was so intrigued so i had to take his offer as a passenger. so ive been in DARDVL back in 2004 when my mate at Autostyle owned it (over 450awkw with a naaasty t88), my 3ltr which had 405awkw, another mate of mine bought a new r35 which was pure engineering & then there is pauls car...this sperm whale is hard to describe as i didnt feel any lag or 'off boost' as the revs ramp up. those 10.5" wheels struggle & offer no traction at all in 2nd gear. it is body altering, my stomach felt upside down & all of my upper muscles were tense during & after the drive - it was all smiles for me. the funny thing is whenever u stepped on it, u had to turn it 1/4 turn to the right - i know that the back wheel was out of alignment but this was the same as Domonic Russo's yellow r32 gtr which was making 650awkw where he had to counter steer to keep it straight.
  2. thats what she said hey Paul makes me wonder how much of a restriction my rb30dett was when i had it - that also ran hks split dumps with only a 3.2" inch system & slightly smaller front pipes. what size front pipes u running big boy?
  3. front pipes measure 61mm & collector is 88mm - is there an advantage to running larger diameter dump pipes if my front pipes are this size? my current hks split dump pipes are 59mm
  4. i'd have to measure them - veilside full system so they are quite large...i'll let u know later today
  5. your setup sounds like fun - maybe run the oem airbox & see how the sound changes? i'd also say its the pods that are making the noise... ive also wondered whether i should upgrade my hks split dump pipes to the bellmouth type / 3 inch dumps if im aiming for 350awkw with a 2.6ltr & -5s? any thoughts?
  6. Matt - I may have asked u before but what rims are u running and size?
  7. I'll check it out tomorrow Looks like I'll have to take matters in my own hands
  8. paul - u got time to overlap your graph with king87s?Converting rpm with speed makes it confusing
  9. Apparently there is only a difference of 500rpm between -9s and -5s. E85 power figures, not sure.
  10. Under 300kw on a stock engine would be a good buffer. I was only running 325awkw when it let go. But then again I had a 89 gtr so the engine had a long life.

  12. Both stock paul. Both tired/pushed engines
  13. I've popped 2 bottom ends on 23psi...ringland both times. It will let go, inevitable
  14. 'Hit' not huy lol (wtf is that word)
  15. That is odd Paul. Dyno shows that they huy full boost at same rpm?
  16. I'd really like to see an overlay of -9s with -5s on a dyno graph. Does anyone have this info or happy to post their graphs running -9s and another with -5s...from here, we can overlay to see the difference...would put a lot of debate to rest
  17. I'd hope not - my GTRS's were on full song @ 5.5krpm.When I had -5s, the turbos were getting tickled at about 3.5krpm and pretty were in 'get up and boogy mode'. Both examples on 2.6ltr.
  18. As an extension to wanting to get exhaust gases out as fast as possible, are there proven advantages around tuned length front pipes? I often use the Gibson gtr as a benchmark hence did this car run straight front pipes or tuned length?
  19. yes spill the beans, what is your setup
  20. Like I stated earlier on, my PB was 11.1 and u won't believe that I kept it in 3rd gear thinking I'd hit the end of the track but I was bouncing off the limiter for I think was about 1sec. If I grabbed 4th, a high 10 was mine How good does it feel when the car hooks up out of the box, I think my PB was a 1.55sec - I'd have to confirm with my time slips.
  21. Fair enough mate, another Colonel Sanders build (only joking) Who is your engine builder and tuner? If u prefer, pm me
  22. Your 2.6ltr setup sounds aligned to my liking. I had a 2.6ltr with -5s but I didn't get to keep it long enough to have my tuner remap it...although it felt strong at 347kw on 19psi. Do u know what cams your engine is running out of curiosity? Any additional porting?
  23. I ran an 11.1 with GTSS turbos = -9s You can crack a high 10 My claim to fame with only 325awkw
