Hi! I do not know much about the resins and that but when I used to get it for our company (we made custom panels) I just told the guys at the fibreglass workshop what we were doing (Kirkside in Perth) and they were really helpful. They even sent their expert over to help us make models of a protoype firbeglass shell for a sportscar. So the best bet would be to take it to one of these types of workshops, and they will show you what you are after, how to mix it and everything! This is my opinion anyway, if you want to do it yourself, and learn about it for future reference!

But as you said you have been there for years! He sounds as though he hasn't been before or talk the language. I'm imagining him stepping of the plane, with no idea where to go or how to get there. It would be a bit overwhelming for someone to just go find everything, especially when most Gaijin can't even use the tokyo area train system! (Its in english fools!) Best thing is to know someone there, or meet up with someone with the knowledge that you are after.

I don't know where all those places are BUT, If you are going by yourself and you dont speak or read Japanese, or if you don't have a friend in Japan I think you will find it VERY difficult to go somewhere worthwhile! Its not like Australia where you can just pack up and go out for the day, in Japan you need serious planning lol! Best thing to do is if your going for a Month get a 3 week JR(japan Rail and 3 weeks is the longest u can get) ticket, i think it costs like 300 bucks or something. Otherwise all your money will go on transport. Also if you have not lived in Japan before I would pretty much forget about a hire car - lets just say the Japanese road system is one F@cked up system. They dont have street names either. You really need someone that can SHOW you where everything is, or someone that can write very detailed maps. Good places to go other then what you mentioned - Akihabara - electric City- north of tokyo, Hakone - 2hours south west of tokyo - Drift heaven, Roppongi - West of tokyo - Party City! I may be heading over in Late April as well, if so I will let you know and perhaps I can show you some places East of Tokyo. My friend owns a dealership over there (He is Japanese) so he knows a lot of choice places! Although there is a larger police presence in that area over the last 2 years to stop drifters and bousou. (Must be regarding the turbine price- not sure if u deleted the price or something?) Our as-new second hand items, are products of the Highest quality. We are a Pro Tuning shop, so do not worry. I would be careful though as it is illegal to recieve the parts without paying customs. I have only heard of one instance where the items were not sent through, so it is a very small risk. (May of had nothing to do with duties) But the choice is yours. Cheers

Yes pretty much, but don't forget a customs broker as it is over $1000 I think DHL charge like $150 for each consignment! Where as broker I use its $65 but u need an account. Cheers

Hi! When using the postal system, as you probably will be (EMS, etc) : If they tick sample or gift on the box when they send this then its illegal but u won't have to pay duties or GST. Be careful with this. Otherwise you have to go to the local airport and pay duties and GST and the customs office then you can pick up your package. But this is for goods under the value of $1000 including packaging. Regarding your order it is likey it will be over $1000 therefore you will have to get a customs broker to process ur order for you, then pay them the GST and Duty afterwards. I think the maths is ( {Item x 1.15"Duty"}+ Shipping)*1.10"GST Custom Brokers are the best as SOME custom brokers can be a bit rude to first timers. Hasn't happened to be, but if you have a bit of an attitude then watch out And if u dont pay the duties then no items. If you have any more questions then just PM me! Cheers.

Well the police obviously believe they are justified in targeting performance cars because a large percentage of people drive like they are THE Drift King or whatever when they are in their cars. Police arent out there to spoil ur fun (well not most anyway) they are out there to protect us. BUT all said they should go spend there time on proper stuff like Drunk Drivers, Burglars and bloody rioters (in Redfern or where ever). Why don't they target all those 'souped' up commodores that are like 20 years old almost falling apart and pollute to hell with the "comprising for something" V8 engines. Or those stoopid drivers in there Excels or some other piece of shit (you know the ones the - "I am so cool with my window wound down, while my Spice Girls CD is on full blast!"), that think just coz they put a wing on it makes there car FAST! and allows them to swerve in and out cutting everyone off. Target real criminals, not revenue raisers. Cheers

There are agencies around that you do not need a degree but instead one year of tertiary education and 2 or 3 years work exp. I think Nova is one of them. Hi all! I noticed a lot of people are searching for Japanese cars info, the best way to search for it is with google on the advanced function. Select Japanese as language and type in stat info on the car. Make sure you use only model numbers, as the Japanese use the model numbers in English as well. For example Silvia S13 just type in S13 into the search engine. Also typing in words like company names eg. Nissan, Toyota , Blitz may help as these are also sometimes written in English on club sites. I know most people probably know this already but for the ones that don't, here ya go! It is just confusing, what Japanese people use English for and what they don't! Cheers

Hi! Yeah I was refering to a limited company. As to me being self employed is not a company but a sole trader. (In this case anyway) I should have defined myself more sorry. Im sure thats what yk stands for - private company. Yeah maybe there are lots of japanese slackers, but there is more importance on studying in Japan than there is in Australia. In Australia who cares what uni you go to ? Where as in Japan it can steer your whole life if you go to a 'bad' uni!

Actually there is a way of getting a part time working visa and that is if you have worked 3 years full time and 1 year of tertiary education I believe. Best way to go to Japan if you just want to go, and you have a bit of money behind you is to start up a private company as these are really cheap to start now - 1 yen where as before was somewhere like 40k! The only bad thing is you need accountants and lawyers which are like at least double the coast of the ones in Australia. The other thing is that after 5 years you have to have at least 40k capital. Or else they dissolve your company. (by long time you may be back in Australia anyway.) There is so much stuff you could do like freelance English editing work, Computer game translations etc. They don't really have many gaijin doing anything but teach english, and have only met one other teach that taught maths. Remember Japanese are serious about their learning unlike most Aussies, and therefore want a person that can SPEAK Japanese fluently. Wouldnt you have been pissed off if doing ur Maths exams for entrance and ur teach couldnt explain shit without u laughing at there accent? BUT overall it would be better to have a Degree. (There are still some jobs available in the IT sector if u can program and have ni kyuu Japanese!)

Tempura o taberu koto ga daisuki desu. - i love to eat tempura 3. umi de saafin ya tomadachi to asobu koto ga yoku yateimasu. Or u can change yoku yateimasu for ga suki desu. yoku yateimasu just means "you often do". If its for school i think they prefer something like - Umi de saafin o shitari, tomadachi to asondari no ga suki desu. Sorry my japanese is very casual, but this should be of some use. Cheers.

Hi, Garage Menace, I would agree that that does sound more likely BUT if you check out the standards on the RVCS SEVS list, Entry No 030/00 It clearly States the variants of the R34 you can import: Variants: 25GT Turbo, 25GT-V, 25GT-X, 25GT, 25GT-X Four, 5GT Four, GTR Yes it is 3 different engines: rb25de, rb25det,rb26dett So unless they are wrong (which is actually highly possible for government agencies), then what we plan to do is ok. Entry No. 022/00 is for V-spec R34 GTRs is for rb26dett engines the only variant it states is V-spec (no others are mentioned. This is a bt confusing to me now :s Thanks
