V35 250Gt Tail Lights For 300Gt?
Deep Dish V35 replied to itsRICHARD's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
^^ pulled the car apart today and turns out my globes were still the white SMD's.... bought orange ones but it appears i never put them in so did it today. colour difference is much more orange when lit. if its legal to have clear indicator lenses with orange globes, i dont see why red lenses with orange globes are going to be an issue, especially if you dont tell the inspector "LOOK - red lenses!" some cars like toyota echo even have pink lenses..- 12 replies

V35 250Gt Tail Lights For 300Gt?
Deep Dish V35 replied to itsRICHARD's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
heres mine with the all red lenses ive disconnected the US spec side position light (only visible from the side). Indicators are ebay spec 21xSMD T20 globes in orange. im not sure if these are very visible when the car is in full sunlight.... shown here illuminated above park lights (not brake) ive never liked the indicator being above the brake lights so im working on a mod to fix this- 12 replies

the biggest giveaway in that pic is the headlights. Boomerang shape is V36 equivalent im not 100% on this, but ... 2001-2005 v35 in japan = 2003-2006 g35 in US I know for sure mine is 2001 JDM series one so i look for 2003 USDM parts to get series one, or i look for 2005 USDM parts to get series 2 if the headlights are different shape, you can be certain the parts wont fit. edit- isnt there a topic that explains the year model jap-usa conversion in detail?

Usdm G35 And Jdm 350Gt Suspension Difference?
Deep Dish V35 replied to OMG513's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
yep the year models in the US are "wrong" compared to japan. they started 2 years behind, and somewhere later they became just 1 year behind. usually referring to a series one or series 2 of a particular body type (35, 36, 37) if applicable will be more accurate than the actual year. -
Series One Sedan Owners

definitely the best looking "proper" body addition ive seen for the sedan tho. keeping the original bumpers just looks so much cleaner than all those other full kits i'd also make sure that it is to suit the JDM version rather than the USDM which has longer bumper bars -
glossy. i use silicone spray to shine the tyres too as far as 1.5 bumpers and boot.... easily interchangeable. i'd go off vin plates rather than cosmetics....

V35 250Gt Tail Lights For 300Gt?
Deep Dish V35 replied to itsRICHARD's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
you could find them new on ebay at 250 each delivered from US (so 500 not including reverse lights). occasionally they pop up with orange indicator lenses, but most are sold with red. I personally have the all red ones only because i reeeeaaaaaally dont like orange lenses anywhere on the car. with an orange globe the light comes out slightly orange anyway. to get a full set of series 2 tails for under 500 is a bargain- 12 replies

this stuff is heavy duty. you'd sooner tear the whole bumper off before damaging the rubber. it flexes back under the car easily, but if you get it caught when reversing you'll feel it. those concrete blocks in carparks are a pain. just remember to always reverse park if your mufflers are high enough my front lip has dragged on various things and not even scratched. a quick squirt of silicone spray makes it shine (and possibly reduces wind friction by 0.00000000000000000000001%) baahahaha oh and you could mount it so that it points slightly outwards, rather than directly down like mine. and before anyone says it, yes i know this lip is not to everybodys taste. its just an option.

yeah its all that saved info such as favourites that need a personal storage location..... im guessing it is chip based.... but where is the chip? in the dvd unit? who knows?
-
does anyone know if the maps stored destinations are stored on the DVD drive or somewhere else? when mine was converted to english, brad had a pre-converted dvd drive that we just swapped over. ive just got the maps running for the first time and found the destination marked as "home" in Toyohashi and im wondering if that could be the actual Japanese home of my car plus it is showing the position marker as being about 10km directly out from Fuji heading SW by boat

for rubber, in SA we have Clarke Rubber who sell it off the roll by the metre. $20 per metre i think, so $40 to do the front (plus whatever you need to fix it to the car - one screw or bolt plus a large mudguard washer every 150mm or closer) im sure any 4WD accessory shop sells it for about double the price
-
this wont answer your question but it is on topic... I have chosen with my past few cars to make my own using off-the-shelf 4wd rubber wheel arch extensions that are meant to be mounted horizontally, i just hang them under the bumpers instead. flexable and forgiving. this is how it mounts on 4 wheel drives i mount it this way up would look better with the series 1 lower half colour coded.... but you can still see the difference same on the rear

regency in SA is harshly against braided lines. their reasoning is: you cant tell if the rubber core has cracked or perished. i did hear that there is a brand that is approved.... dont know if thats just a rumor tho

n15mo - yep i was just pointing out that i offered him 2/3rds of his asking price, and after 6 months it was his best offer, the rest were asking 12k at the time. I wouldve bought a top of the range J31 maxima for 9k if it wasnt 100km away as all i wanted was a big sedan for $10k i wouldnt get a coupe either.... but most people ive spoken to say they prefer the coupe shape but not the coupe price. -
