What Tyres To Purchase
Deep Dish V35 replied to johnr's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
bought "Rotalla" chinese tyres from fleabay.... $90 each plus 15 delivery.... 19's for less than $500 a set and worth every cent. quiet too. have had experience with simex in the past (on road and wet race) and can recommend those aswell... -
20 inch by 9" and 10" Moven GR5 staggered wheels and tyres, stretched tyres. Too wide for sedans. Fronts are: 20x9, +40mm offset Achilles 225-35-20 tyres (stretch fitment) 70% tread remaining Rears are: 20x10, +20mm offset Nexxen 245-35-20 tyres (stretch fitment) 50% tread remaining These alloys have about 1 inch more dish than the fronts. 5x114.3 stud pattern, HAMANN centre caps Cost $4000 brand new, want $1500 firm... or will consider swap for something similar looking with less offset (not interested in tempe bling or commodore style wheels thanks)

im thinking about getting some arch mods done to allow for an extra inch of rim width/coverage. im particularly after a process that will pull the lip and/or partial guard without needing respray. would a professional lip roller be able to flex the guard out 25mm?? Anybody had experience in this department? or know of a good place to visit?

Need Help On Wheels Offset For Sedan
Deep Dish V35 replied to yunghumma's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Sorry, my bad.... just done all the measurements on my own car and yes the offset should be just right. Rear rim poke will be about 7mm with standard suspension..... but if you lower the car, it will tuck under. I'd fit a 245/35/19 tyre to the rears... -

How To Lower V35 Sedan ?
Deep Dish V35 replied to Hadou Ken's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Research suggests I have the early 350Z setup with the stiffer rate rear springs. The later 350Z's have same fronts but softer rears, which would be better IMO. -
Ok yep tested and came to the following conclusion SNOW: makes accelerator / throttle opening ratio much less sensitive. POWER: makes accelerator / throttle opening ratio slightly more sensitive. Doesnt make any change if you switch while already accelerating. But in either mode, put your foot to the floor and it still drives like in normal mode.

Should They Stay
Deep Dish V35 replied to Bladerider97's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Cobey, notice now the ones on the silver car are nearly black? Factory ones are usually brown...... and also the silver car has been de-chromed.... The reason they look out of place is because they cover the chrome line around the window. Buy a chrome strip overlay to reproduce the chrome line ontop of the shields and it wont look so bad. I had the same dillema, didnt like the look of them and kept bumping them with my hand in drive thrus....... so tried to remove them and just made a mess of the chromework underneath - that tape has had 10 years to cure!! So I went out and bought some 3M tape and put the things back on. Turns out they are very convenient to have on rainy days, and they stop wind buffeting at higher speeds with windows down. Unless you are prepared to buy new chromework for your window surrounds, I would leave them. Just wrap them in black vinyl or something to get rid of the brownness. -
hmmmm so 3k you reckon? i'll drive to work on snow setting today and see what happens

How To Lower V35 Sedan ?
Deep Dish V35 replied to Hadou Ken's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
aaaaaah! theres something ive overlooked! time to do some part number research. if thats the case, i'll be looking for non-track items. they definitely feel as though they would be more at home on a smooth racetrack than roads with manhole covers and speedhumps. -
How To Lower V35 Sedan ?
Deep Dish V35 replied to Hadou Ken's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
the 350z shocks and springs in my 250gt sedan exactly replicates the "driving on bumpstops" sensation, this is in comparison to a previous car i owned which infact was on the bumpstops. it is also important to note that i roll on 235-35-19's..... so there is no sidewall to absorb bumps either it is shaking the crap out of my interior. have noticed a few new constant squeaks and rattles including centre console, left a-pillar and parcel shelf from the first drive with Zs fitted. most of the bouncing is now just me being thrown out of the drivers seat, and items in my boot getting airborne. and im no hoon, i only drive at 55. it is quite simply horrible -

i really want to know if people have had personal experience rather than word of mouth..... plenty of people say bmws are too expensive to own and fix, but i proved they were cheaper than holdens with a bit of know how -
v35 sedan stuff is softer than soft. my sedan with original suspension used to rub its lip and belly when driving down alot of my local roads. silly.

How To Lower V35 Sedan ?
Deep Dish V35 replied to Hadou Ken's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
has anyone played with shock spring combos? im wondering if the 350z setup stiffness is due to spring or shock..... am considering putting the Z springs with the V shocks to see if it loses a bit of its rigidity. as it is, the Z shocks and springs compress less than an inch max under load -
the power/snow selector has zero effect (that is noticeable at least) on my car. i was hoping that it would make the auto trans shift at double rate or something at least would be nice if there was an official technical document that explains how things have been programmed (power/snow/tiptronic/etc)

Need Help On Wheels Offset For Sedan
Deep Dish V35 replied to yunghumma's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
you can try a camber kit but it will ruin tire life in a hurry. you could get your guards modified but it could look ugly. or you could find someone with a coupe that wants to buy them off ya. try them on for size first.... you may just like the look of rim poke. -

oh and 350z shocks and springs are just a little too firm in my opinion. its kinda like riding on bump stops -

i believe the rears are going to stick out past the guards by around 10-15mm use the following link to see what youve got ( unfortunately it doesnt do half inch graduations , you have to guess that bit ) http://www.jonathanrowny.com/page/offset-calculator
