  1. Dude was it you who just sold that lambo orange s14? Tough car if it is. Sexy as except for the gaurd rolling on the passenger side. Dunno wtf happened there :S Off topic but anyway...
  2. Also, I wouldn't say 'spirited driving' is as harsh as circuit racing...
  3. Ash, even a quick 5 minute spirited drive causes this problem. Even a quick 5 minute spirted drive causes this problem. Serious serious brake fade. I've heard of plenty of people using project mu SCR rotors on the track and having no such issue, so I've got my money on the probem being inferior pad choice and boiling brake fluid. Having said that I've just ordered nismo braided lines and uprated project mu HC+ pads, so we'll see how it all turns out
  4. hahahahahah u funny @#$%!! That's it, skylines only. keep the other sh!t at home!!
  5. Terry I remember this NUR. It had gold rims on it (with chrome lips) and no interior pics were up on their website or carsales, and they were asking 75/80k for it from memory. I would love to hear what actually happened with this car. This all import crew sound like a bunch of tip rats.....Also, their asking price for this "stock" MP3 v-spec is way overinflated. Even if it was all genuine.... What I think happened with this car is that it came over as it appeared in the japanese pics, and when it was being complianced a whole bunch of stuff came off for the compliance so while they were at it they took the rest of the aftermarket goods off and swapped it all for stock to make the car appear unmolested. Secondly, any half-minded person who has been looking to buy a 34 GTR will know the main tell-tale signs of age/condition to look out for. Bolster wear is dfinitely at the top of the list. Clearly in this instance a simple interior swap has been performed however :I
  6. LOL...........i'm riding my tok tok in......
  7. IS anyone putting there baby on a flatbed/trailer??
  8. LOL I think out of the whole attendance last time there was only 2 GTRs . Shame if you ask me. So many cars there that weren't even skylines but theres sooo many nice GTRs around. Take a look at the show n shine pics....
  9. Ye I somehow missed the 500 deg C rating when I bought them, and just read the street/sport part :I .... Load of BS if they claim they're good for anything close to sports driving. In my opinion theyre only good for cruising around town and even then, they're noisy as hell... So I've decided to do 3 things. 1.install nismo braided brake lines, 2. replace the brake fluid with something high performance, 3. upgrade the pads to project mu max700. I'll keep you posted on how things turn out
  10. HAHAHA Why don't we all just meet up in a massive carpark and order pizza??? Easier, tastier, and no one has to break balls to leave...
  11. Pads have been bedded in, several times , but I havent changed the brake fluid - I don't see how this will help heat-induced brake fade though
  12. Ok, so I just bought a brand spanking new set of project mu SCR rotors front and back and also a set of project mu M-spec (not available in Aus) pads all round too. I thought this brake set up would be pretty damn good for a road car, having slotted rotors and all......but boy was i wrong. I've had it on the car (which has only seen street use) for a month now, and recently partook in some spirited driving with some other GTR boys. After 15/20 mins of moderately hard driving, picking up speed then wiping it off, I really started to feel the brakes fade. Not a little bit, but a LOT. At one stage I had to brake very hard and almost drove off the side of a hill....When I eventually slowed down to park (moving at 5-10 kmh) I could not even stop the car. It kept rolling forward until it stopped almost on its own. I got out of the car and inspected the brakes which were billowing smoke, and were EXTREMELY hot. I have never shat myself so hard, nor have I been so disappointed in a purchase (that wasn't cheap) I was genuinely expecting more from. This was supposedly one of the best street/sport setups you could get for a GTR without an increase in rotor size/bigger calipers. What are your thoughts? I've considered upgrading to braided brake lines as well but that wont solve the fade or heating problems...
  13. hahahahaha Terry!!!I couldn't agree more with you. Steph you're pretty much up sh!t creek for options. When I got my first skyline I looked into all the options I had being a uni student and working part time. I also had the same trouble you're having with the secured loan, so the bank told me to either borrow extra on my parents mortgage (they didn't have one though this option went out the window) or get an unsecured loan - the commonwealth bank told me they would be happy to loan me the money at 18.6% p.a........Yep, I know, I told them to go stick it and went and found myself another job to buy my baby
  14. I looked into this a few months back. Cheapest I found for a set of 19x10 volks was about $480 (can't remember who it was from though, sorry!!) That was for sea freight but it sure beats some of the other quotes i was given (up to $1200!!)
  15. 1. R33 GTS. Well...I wouldn't think it's really worth anything. You'd be better off buying a new corolla. More punch and less problems. 2. Is there a blanket ban on kids driving anything turbocharged these days? (When I was on my Ps it used to just be power to weight but no one gave 2 stuffs anyway and still drove GTRs, supras etc. We used to get the older guys telling us that in their days there were NO limits and they were allowed to drink also )
  16. Hahaha what kind of post is this??! Start reading before you start asking, theres a lot to learn and know about a lot of things. That is a massively open ended question Happy to help you with more specific questions mate. goodluck!
  17. The early R34 GTRs came with Sharp LCD screens, then Nissan turned to Toshiba, then went back to Sharp in late model V-spec IIs. I can confirm this 100% as i have just pulled mine out
  18. Millenium Jade and Silica Breath are only available in the NUR spec versions of the V-spec II, so if you're only considering a base model GTR or even a v-spec, then you can forget these 2 colours. I don't know how things will pan out in Canada once people start importing R34 GTRs there, but the V-spec II hold their value much more than the V-spec which hold their value more than base GTRs. Yese the higher you go the more expensive things get, but likewise they also hold their value much more - even somewhat disproportionately. Here in Aus for example, there's an abundance of base model GTRs and V-specs for sale which can be had for quite cheap, whereas the NUR and other newer models are harder to come by and fetch quite a bit more generally speaking.
  19. Ok so I recently bought the Z-tune front bar for my GTR, along with the nismo side skirts and rear pods. I dropped it all off at the body shop who said that no blending would be required for the skirts and pods, but that the front gaurds would most likely need to be for the front bar (knowing how pedantic I am). MY problem with this is that my paint is in PERFECT condition, and i don't want to tarnish the original factory paint in any way (ie. having it rubbed down then recleared). How close of a match do you think I can get bayside blue without blending? What are the pros and cons? If i decide to put my original V-Spec II front bar back on then it won't match because the gaurds will have been blended...What are your opinions. Should I ask them to just paint and fit and not worry about blending?
  20. LOL you're blessed! I get only 180km per tank
  21. Holy @#$*, I don't know why people have them and run the risk of copping a 22k fine
  22. Yep, standard lenght. Each model is specifically designed for a particular car.
  23. Hmm I just had mine installed not too long ago. Didn't realise it was so f'ing loud when I bought it and only realised after it was in transit from japan and I started to read peoples' comments on the forums. Sounds insanely good when opened up, however cruising around town can be a pain. Also have to be extra cautious of getting the wrong kind of attention. Anyone who was at the most recent garage meet in Melb I'm sure heard my exhaust from a few blocks away. I'm considering selling mine. If anyone is interested let me know.
  24. Haha dont worry mate, we'll keep it slow and safe !! ps. does anyone have any spare rear indicator bulbs?? If so pls bring with, idiots at autobarn sold me wrong size and assured me it would fit!!
