  1. Ok, another question for everyone. Who has pulled out the inner plastic gaurds from their skyline (due to rubbing tyres) and had any complications/issues because of it?? I'm very tempted to pull out the 2 front plastic gaurds on my GTR but am worried that this will expose my BOV and what not to water/dirt, and also the possibility of my tyres rubbing against the BOV itself!! Has anyone done this on an R34 GTR?? What are the risks involved with doing this?? I've heard of people using a heat gun to make the gaurd bigger though that doesnt exactly work as the standard BOV is RIGHT behind the front right gaurd....
  2. Just bought myself a full set of project mu SCR rotors, and got a bit of a surprise when I moved the package into my garage. They are VERY HEAVY rotors which I was not expecting from a midrange Project Mu rotor!! I'm thinking I should have just gone for the more expensice SCR pro's now!! Has anyone else noticed the same thing with these rotors or others (esp. dba 4000)?
  3. A full 34 GTR A full 34 GTR tank which i think is 50L??? I think you could definitely regard it as extremely shit economy - Its about 23L/100 km
  4. Does anyone have the contact details for the SAU user pandaGTR?? He contacted me via PM but i've been having difficulty getting in touch with him over the forums. He lives in Vic and i know a bunch off people have dealth with him though it seems like that was some time ago. Cheers
  5. Yeh I know!! I spoke to Chris at Racepace and he tells me the injectors I've got are one culprit as is the PFC d'jetro which inherently has to be run richer. I get a buttload of unburnt fuel literally spitting out of the exhaust at idle Apparently the guy who tuned it in Tassy wasn't familiar with the power FC (which is clearly evident) or confident in tuning it, but I didn't think it was possible to have THAT bad of a fuel economy.
  6. I don't get to drive my toy much but noticed soon after buying it that it was VERY fuel inefficient. When I say very, I mean absolutely appauling. People say yeh it's because you drive a GTR with aftermarket turbos, well yes, average fuel consumption is somewhat expected, but I am only getting 180-190 km per tank!!! It's actually laughable (and cryable for my wallet!). What mileage is everyone else getting? Please state your engine, ECU, turbos, and injectors as follows: Engine: RB26DETT ECU: Apexi Power FC D jetro Turbos: Garrett -5s Injectors: Sard 800 cc Cheers.
  7. That's a very good point Ash. Statistics scare and influence people (supposedly) though the people most often targeted are those who fail to see the flaws in how those statistics were obtained, and how they ONLY apply to situations identical to the ones in which they were tested. This isn't made clear by the TAC and Vic police for obvious reasons. I work in the pharmaceutical industry and I see this happen every day with BS advertising and your average person not being able to grasp or comprehend scientific data and consequently the advertising which skews this information to it's advantage...
  8. hahahahahahaha
  9. Who's with me? Bait and wait? (ps. im not volunteering my car )......but maybe if a bunch of us each put in $50 for a banger and lay in wait....
  10. It would be interesting to put out some bait in the carpark of one of these shopping centres in the west, with a bunch of boys from SAU hiding in wait.......
  11. ....and maybe the not so obvious, don't advertise the car/s you own in pictures/comments on webpages that can easily and publicly identify you such as facebook, AND take caution if you notice someone following you home. This last point probably wont apply to your average Joe driving a battered gtst, but for more expensive cars it probably will. A good friend of mine who drives super expensive cars (in the order of $700,0000 - $800,000 each) has been followed home on numerous occasions though luckily he noticed and pulled into random streets and got away. Who knows, maybe some kids who just wanted to gawk at his cars, perhaps they wanted to steal them? Food for thought....
  12. My mates 180sx Type X recently got stolen from in front of his house in Bulleen, and another of my friend's Rx7 got stolen from in front of his house in Doncaster East. Looks like the eastern suburbs aren't safe either! My suggestions and they're obvious ( ), lock your car up on every occasion every night in a locked garage, lock your steering wheel with one of those 80's/90's style locks, make sure you have an immobiliser installed, sleep inside your garage with a shotgun and one eye open
  13. Chris + Mark, thanks a million for your insight and posts. I hate pulling out head units in cars I havent worked on before because things always go awry the first time - but not this time!!
  14. Sometimes it's good to give in to temptation
  15. For sale as a repost (could not add images to last post), are a near new set of Advan RS in 19x10+20, perfect fitment for GTRs, EVOs, and M3s. These are genuine Advan Racing forged monoblock rims and weigh almost nothing (9.2kgs each which is MUCH less than Volk TE37 and CE28n in the same size!). They are less than 1000km old and retail new for over $4000. There is a very small paint scuff on 1 rim only, the other 3 are perfect. I had these up originally for $3500, I am now selling them cheap for $2800 as I need the space in my garage.
  16. ADVAN RS - DROPPED TO $2800. Seriously cheap compared to new. 3 of these rims are perfect condition, less than 400km driven on them, 1 has a small amount of scuffing. Forged monoblock genuine Advan Racing 19x10+20. Look very tough. Perfect size for GTRs. See link above for photos
  17. Anthony I was also given the wrong advice by an unnamed 'reputable' wheel shop in Melbourne, the owner of which insisted a 30 profile was too small for my rims and car.....
  18. Haha my username clearly isn't 'itsmeyo'!! Ali they're NITTO INVOS - 275/35/19. Sidewall is chunky as hell, didn't realise until I saw them fitted ... they also rub the inner guard like hell, didn't realise until i drove out of Bob Jane *double *
  19. I can't believe this hasn't sold yet. Looks like pure eye candy from the pics and i bet it is in real life too!
  20. Hey Anthony, can you please send me pictures of your wheels and where it rubs. I'm looking at getting the same wheels but with +12 offset and dont know if its only going to compound my problem. What made you go for the 35 profile also?
  21. Nismoid do you think that running a 19x10.5+12 with 275/30/19 would rub even worse (ie. lower offset but lower profile also)??
  22. You know the market well, good to see Some asking prices floating around are just plain laughable!!
  23. Only reason I didn't go for the 30 profile was that many people were saying it's really bad for the rim if you hit a pot hole, but I dont know seriously how much difference going up to a 35 profile would make anyway. Secondly the diameter of the wheels im running now are almost identical (only 2 mm larger) to the diameter I had when I was on 245 18s with a 45 profile...
  24. I think you're thinking of the wrong member. I don't remember asking this question anywhere!
