  1. Ok, so we all know that over time in the harsh Australian climate the clear on the VS2 NACA duct starts to craze and looks pretty bad. I've been told by other forum members (and people selling VS2s coincidentally ) that it's an easy fix and a relatively cheap one too. I've been told that all you need to do is wet-sand it down until you almost reach the CF, then just reapply a 2 pack clear coat. A reputable body shop however has told me that this isn't the correct way to go about it, as if the clear is applied only to the NACA duct it will come off very easily especially if washed. They told me the whole bonnet needs to be re-cleared which is obviously much more expensive given the prep work and repainting. My question is for anyone who HAS actually done some sort of restoration on the V-spec II bonnet duct, what they did, how they did it, and what their results were like. Please no opinions or theories unless you have actually done it and specifcally in this application. Cheers
  2. Last time I knew anything the FDA stood for the 'Food and Drug Administration' and only looked after licensing food and drugs in the US Dunno when they started doing carbon fibre bonnets and cars haha
  3. These guys only supply genuine NISMO fins, I was after the look alike nismo-style ones. Theyre bloody hard to find
  4. Ok, I take that back. I DO mind the cost but having said that I wouldn't pay for something just because it's cheap if it was tacky. I've mad a few calls around to reputable workshops and had quotes over the phone for a front bar and sideskirts ranging from $850- $3000 . So really what my question is, is who can do bayside blue and a pretty good job without emptying my bank?
  5. Terry I put the exhaust up for sale with some other bits and pieces last week. Many expressions of interest for everything and few pieces sold, but the exhaust Its the discontinued oval-tipped one...The guys over on the UK forums were selling them used for $1400

  17. hmmm...who has actually had any bayside blue work done in Melbourne and had excellent results with a particular shop?
  18. Tez I have the type B poncams and compression on all 6 cylinders is 170 psi.....it may very well be the timing belt. It'sa good thing then that I just ordered a nismo one and Tomei cam gears also I'll keep you posted and let you know if they fix the problem once installed.
  19. Hi all, just wondering who in Melbourne can paint a bumper for me in Bayside Blue and actually have it look factory painted? I've heard this is a VERY difficult colour to replicate because of the various coats and pearl effects run through it, and there aren't many people around who can get it right. Can anyone point me n the direction of someone who can in Melbourne, someone with a good reputation/business?
  20. Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with their GTR having tomei poncams (and no aftermarket cam gears!) installed and starting in the cold. When I start my car cold the engine almost cuts out at idle. Is this happening to anyone else? Would cam gears help this??
  21. As in can you just use the surround that's already there and just buy the double din brackets to insert?
  22. Chris, if the Nav unit isn't present is it possible to just insert a double din screen where the former radio and sunglasses compartment were or is the conversion kit required?
  23. Ye I saw that one but it was so overpriced. I dunno, the guys at import monster are usually pretty good with prices but this was an exception, especially given wat they've been going for on yahoo japan, japanese wreckers (if only it weren't so hard to buy with these guys!) etc.
