  1. I thought about mounting mine in front of the passenger seat but had problems with the transmittion lump and with it not fitting under the seat when the seat slides forward, so it would be harder to get into the back seat. In blink_elk's photo it looks like the lump isn't there, don't all R32s have it? I mounted mine behind the seat today. In the gtst the seat fits over it fine so the seat still goes back as far as it did before but i think gtr seats are a bit lower so the seat might not be able to slide all the way back in a gtr. I used 25mm x 1mm flat bar but i think 25mm x 3mm would probably be better. Heres some pics... pic1 pic2 pic3 pic4 So, do i need to get the extinguisher inspected now. The car needs to be ready for the NDSOC training day on the 17th.

Test fitting the aluminium bar before i rivet the extinguisher bracket on to it
  5. I'm looking at mounting mine behind the passenger seat by running a piece of aluminium flat bar between the bolts at the back of the seat and bolting the extinguisher bracket to that. It sounds similar to whats described by Dominic in this thread, just behind the seat instead of in front. I couldn't find the bolt that duncan was talking about in that thread so maybe 32s don't have it. I thought about putting it against the door sill behind the passenger seat cause theres a hole already there where the seat belt was originally mounted before compliance but its too hard to reach from the drivers seat. Hopefully i'll get it mounted tomorrow. If i do i'll upload some photos. Does a new extinguisher need to be inspected? I bought mine a few weeks ago from Big W and just noticed that theres nothing on it about being inspected. I thought they would need to be inspected before they could be sold. If it needs to be inspected where can i get it done and what should it cost.
  6. Hey funky, how soon are you planning on ordering these and how much is the car charger. Does anyone know how good these are compared to something like the 1W uniden UH041 available at http://www.prestigecom.net.au/default.asp?...iden&openmenu=3 for $75
  7. Essential, I have the same box in the drivers door of my R32. I think mine is just central looking, but i've never bothered to follow all the wires for it so it could be an alarm. The only bits i've ever really taken notice of were the box in the door and the little black piece that you marked F. This looks like an infrared receiver for a remote. Unfortunately the remote didn't come with the car. In my car the piece marked F is clipped into the top of the door trim. Next time i have the door trim off i'll see if theres anything else connected to it. Maybe it was a factory option alarm or remote central locking system. I'm fairly certain that this unit has nothing to do with controlling the factory central locking (when you use the key), all it does it activate the solenoid in the drivers door and then the module that controls the central locking (probably in the dash somewhere) thinks that the drivers door has been locked with the key and locks the passenger door. I don't know if that mad any sense. Cheers, Tom.
