Don't think this has been answered before but is there a difference fitting tail lights between and S1 and an S2?

My R33 S1.5 left tail light is leaking rain water from the boot , after I managed to seal it off and fix the water problem, I realised the same left inner light has blown/gone off whenever I turn the headlights on. But when I press the brakes, all 4 lights light up, so it can't be a damaged bulb. I was wondering how do I fix this issue? Thanks guys
