Awesome, thanks fellas! I'm not too concerned about strength as its only the battery tray, I've got some metal conditioner stuff so I'll hit it with that first as suggested, cheers.

That would be awesome mate, been chasing those bits for ages! PM me a price

Still after the following for the 32: - Front bar (would prefer standard GTST bar). - Right projector type headlight. - Left Type M side skirt. - GTST bonnet latch. And considering if anyone's got them: - Screamer. - 3" front pipe. - x2 3" stainless 2 bolt exhaust flanges. Will probably just buy these bits new but worth asking!

Spent a bit of time today doing surgery on our car, nothing major just cutting out battery tray which is diseased with rust! Not sure how much I need to cut out though, if you look at pic below you can see a few areas I have cleaned up with wire wheel that are pitted from rust but not rusted through, do these areas need to go as well or is it ok to just treat and paint?

This weather doesn't help much. If you have a goal it helps, as in set a date. Although we figured out you have to be realistic haha.

I like those new wheels, I reckon they look good as they are but to match the Lenso's would look better with the red lip. What brake pads were you using?

Slight correction to my last post...I meant to say cam seals were replaced, not crankshaft seals hah. Doesn't look like I can edit the post.

Never really posted any updates in here about our car so thought now might be a good time as there is a fair bit happening. First a bit of background info… My brother Tom and myself purchased the car, a 1993 R32 GTST, in September 2011 from Victoria, it had an RB25DET which wasn’t engineered so we spent a fair bit of time organising that once we got it back, it was on the road on 11/11/2011 (easy date to remember haha), this is how it looked… We didn’t really do anything worth mentioning, just tidied a few things up, got some new wheels and went to a few track days at Baskerville. Then we thought we’d enter the drift practice day in May which didn’t end well with the car being written off, I’m sure most of you have seen pictures/videos and I don’t really want to look at them again so won’t post any of that haha. Luckily it appears to be only structural damage with only minor damage to engine, surprisingly even front end components such as brakes/hubs were not damaged, the chassis seemed to absorb all the impact. So we started the search for a shell, nearly bought an S13 which would have been a cool project but ended up getting hold of another R32 in June off DanielH (previously owned by Toffy). Now that we’ve started transferring things across I’m kind of glad we went with another R32 as it makes things soo much easier. The shell was not quite rolling with no interior but it didn’t matter as we could transfer a lot over from our wreck. During my mid-semester break from Uni we got a bit done…we put in our subframe and front end so it’s now properly rolling (don’t worry everything was checked thoroughly for damage before being bolted up!). Tom also pulled the RB25 out of the wreck and it has been pulled down to do a few oil control mods (external oil drain, restrictors, baffled sump, oil pump drive collar), head has been decked and replaced valve stem seals, crankshaft seals etc. and the oil pump drive collar is currently getting done. Also discovered big end bearings and clutch are pretty close to needing replacement so figured now is a good opportunity, and rear housing is cracked on turbo (thanks to Tobbie for sorting us out with that and few other bits and pieces). We’re pretty keen to get it done and get back out on the track again and just enjoy it, I imagine we’ll be taking it pretty easy to start with after all the effort we’re putting in. I guess the good thing about paying someone else to do the work is it doesn’t hurt as much when things go wrong (if money isn’t an issue) but unfortunately that isn’t an option for us haha. I might try and post a few updates as things get done if I have time.

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift

I'm sure this has been asked but I don't have time to read all 44 pages (I have already done a search on this thread). What is the standard restrictor size in an RB25DET (series 2)? Some people say 2mm some say 1.5mm, we have our head off at the moment and there are 1.5mm restrictors in it but I have no idea if previous owner put them in or they are standard. Cheers, Michael -
Sick! Don't know if car will be ready so we'll see how we go.

A little off topic but is this day drift and grip sessions like the last one?

I'm after the following for our R32 GTST Right headlight. Left GTST clear indicator (or possibly both left and right GTR indicators). Front bar (would prefer standard GTST bar). Left Type M side skirt. GTST bonnet latch. Rubber engine mounts. Let me know if you can help!

Looking for RB25 turbo for a mate, needed ASAP as he is entered in drifts on Saturday. Call or text me on 0439182091.

Oh ok, I'll have to speak to my brother first (he owns it as well), I'll give you a call when we've decided

Ok awesome, yeah it does need the VIN stamping on the strut tower, I remember Daniel mentioned it when we bought it off him. Not 100% sure if we're going to register it yet but it would be nice to have the option to in the future. I see Peter tagged you in the photo on Facebook so I assume you know it still has the yellow guards I actually saw your yellow 4 door today with the black guards on it so if you want to swap that would work out well, although I will say the paint on the left hand side is a bit poor, not sure if it was like that when you had them or not.

Plywood doorcards! Cheap, light, easy to make
-
Haha, how do you manage to store all these cars?! Also, we recently bought your old black R32 shell off Daniel, and I was wondering if you would happen to have the import papers by any chance? PM me if you want, I tried to PM you but couldn't for some reason
-
Awesome, that's what I wanted to hear haha. Yeah they seem much easier to get hold of, and cheaper too. Thanks for the reply

Anyone know for certain if R31 rubber engine mounts fit in an R32 (with RB25)? A mate seems to think so but just want to make sure.

Wicked! Keep the updates coming

Making good progress there, we're in the middle of something similar at the moment, trying to put together one good car out of two haha.
