  1. So I have recently purchased a r32gtst with a rebuilt bottom end and a n1 oil pump fitted. I was driving it the other day and the motor lost oil pressure and a death rattle was produced from the bottom end which I was suprising due to the very recent rebuild. I removed the engine and stripped down the bottom. Found number 1 main and big end bearings to be spun and mashed welded together and bearing further down the crank to be damaged also. I then removed to oil pump and inspected the modified drive collar and pump, the pump was fitted with silicon sealant and the gear housing plate of the pump has had insufficient clearance between the first journal of the crankshaft causing the crank to wear into the oil pump and metal filings through the engine causing bottom end failure. Has anyone seen this before or has any info? Such as is a gasket meant to be used to space the pump out or any other ideas?
