Worth Buying A R33 Gt-R Over My R33 Gts-T?
deadweight replied to ibbyk92's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
that shouldnt even be a question... of course you should. -
its a 1992 Pulsar Ti. I might get it pulled out today and have a look. Any suggestions for testing whether its the sender or gauge failing?
-
hey guys, The mrs has a cheap little pulsar ti which has developed an issue with the fuel gauge. For some reason its as if the gauge only registers as full, half or empty, if it has between 1/2-full the gauge will sit at half til the fuel level drops below half a tank, then the gauge will drop down to empty. Sometimes it will just stay at empty, then next time you turn the car on say half a tank. I thought it could possibly be a bad wire somewhere but I am not too sure where to start or where to look. I don't wanna go pulling the cradle out of the tank or whatever is required if I don't have to.. Anyone have any ideas? Monitoring the odometer is getting annoying!

Make and Model: 1999 GC8 WRX Model Year: 1999 Registration: BQ50FO Car Condition: Road Worthy/ Registered Location: Wollongong Price: 11,000 ONO Contact details: 0411969511, [email protected] Personal Sale: Yes Read the rules: Yes Pictures: Included So I am looking at selling my WRX. Not because I want to, but living conditions have changed recently and I cannot afford to keep her at this point in time. May consider swaps but prefer to sell. I bought the car back in February from a bloke in victoria, I have since then had it passed in NSW and now has NSW rego until May 2013. Cosmetically has a few scratches, stone chips and a few little car park dings. The WRX has 187,000 on the odometer, however was rebuilt with forged pistons and rods around 20,000 km ago, have receipts for rebuild by a shop called "Pro-tek" in melbourne. As for mods it has the following: - Front Mount Intercooler - Turbosmart Supersonic BOV - VF34 turbo - 770cc Injectors - Walbro Fuel Pump - Microtech LT10 ecu currently tuned for 196kw @ 19psi. I was planning to get it retuned as I think a few parts could be a bit better fine tuned but I just havent had the money to do it. - Drift pod - Turbo back exhaust - STI 5 speed gearbox, diff and drive shafts. - Lowered on Pedders shocks and Kings Springs - Turbosmart Eboost Street (Electronic Boost Control) - Radiator only 6 months old Also has generic things like Keypad Alarm (as well as immobiliser/button alarm), Boost Gauge etc. I recently replaced the Fuel Filter, Thermostat and all exhaust gaskets from the Headers to the Dump Pipe as well, with Grimmspeed gaskets and thermostat. Brand new turbosmart 3 port boost solenoid. I thought the old one was cactus so I bought a new one, turned out the wire that goes from the eboost to the solenoid had come off causing it to run on spring pressure. It does have a tiny boost leak which starts to leak around 16-19psi. I think its probably somewhere in the intercooler piping or the bov but as you can guess, I havent had the money to get it looked at. I don't drive it that hard on a daily basis so I barely notice the leak is there. Also has a decent soundsystem in it, but could use some better front speakers. Consists of: - Pioneer double din head deck (dvd/mp3/bluetooth etc) - Kicker Splits in the front - Alpine Type R 6.5 inch speakers in the rear - Alpine 600 watt 4 channel amp - 2 x Kicker comp 10 subs - Kicker 300 watt mono amp I would be willing to take some cash off the sale without the soundsystem as I have a normal cd player I can put in etc. Looking to try and get $11,000 ono.

Hey dude, thanks for the offer but I'm a little more interested in a cash sale. Need money for moving out! I would perhaps consider a swap for an el cheapo car (as in VERy cheap) and cash my way.

For Sale R33 1994 Gts-T
deadweight replied to Tony Sharps's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Wouldn't be too concerned about price dude, they are just getting harder and harder to sell. I had a pretty stock R33 that I sold at the start of the year. Didn't own it for very long, but was in good condition, very clean and straight, tried to sell it for about 3 months and ended up letting it go for $6,500. Even at that price didn't receive too much attention. There's always a couple of people that are willing to let them go cheap as chips, and that's what 75% of people are expecting now. Just be patient, and good luck with the sale. -

after checking out postage for the items, postage for the lights and springs would not be practical. therefore for those two items pick up only from wollongong, or i can meet somewhere within a few km's. prices reduced due to pick up only, $70 for tail lights, $60 for springs. -

Buying Cars From Another State
deadweight replied to deadweight's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i wasnt trying to have a go at you dude, but just the way you wrote what you had to do sounded like you had to go to real extreme measures, like the weigh center for instance... i bought a car from vic, all i had to do was: -get a blue slip (usually in nsw you need to do this if your car has been out of rego for three or more months, if your just renewing yearly you have to do a pink slip every year) -pay CTP (green slip), which has to be done before you can pay for the registration at rta in nsw with every car -go to rta, show proof of purchase, which in my case was the paper work from vic roads showing i bought the car etc -cash in old plates and rego, get brand new nsw rego. and then i was all good to go. reason i was asking people on here is because you really do get mixed answers from rta. sometimes they are willing to help you out, other times they wont and will send you on some wild goose chase that could have been avoided at other times (atleast with my experiences). very weird they made you get 12 months rego as well, i was under the impression you could get 6 months whenever, as long as the blue slip/pink slip was valid.
