  1. A mate of a mate (you know how it goes) has the QLD plates 12PRV. Even has a playboy bunny between the12 & PRV. Looked pretty good. In QLD it seems you can get all sorts of logo and stuff on number plates. Have seen a lot of car yards and businesses have their own official number plates. Then you could always get the ford or holden v8 supercar plates....would look good on a skyline.
  2. Just Cars told me last week they don't acknowledge that you are on your parents policy. They said they don't, don't want to know, not counting for didly squat. So check which insurer you go through first before applying this idea. I do know Suncorp will take it. But as my mother has sinced passed away, and there is not record of me being on this policy i got no chance.
  3. Was going to ask too...but didn't want to stir things up.
  4. I tried Shannons. They said they only insure "collector or vintage cars" or if you belong to a club of some sorts (the group of guys down the carpark doesn't count unless fully incorporated). They have indicated if you are in a club they were not likely to insure you for everyday driving, only weekend club events. But this was a little while ago, it may be different.
  5. Suncorp will nearly allways answer the phone in about 20 seconds...never ever had a problem. And i have a few other insurances through them. 0% rating 6, you will go to rating 7 after a claim and about the only people who will touch you is Just Cars for a price(experienced it myself). If you currently have insurance through some other place that is cheaper than Just Cars, don't let your insurance lapse as they won't take you back until on rating 6 again (1 year, experience again). But if you just renew the policy at rating 7 they (usually) won't decline insurance.
  6. On a 32 skyline (not sure bout 33) there are two little buttons for the radio on the left side of the instrument binocle. On for am/fm i think the other i can't think of right now. Anyways....Since nobody ever keeps the standard head unit (for long), and I can't easily get rid of them I want to use these buttons for something. Anyone done this before and what did you use them for? Or just any suggestions in general? Maybe a kill switch, that would be pretty stealth. Hide a kill switch in plain sight.
  7. An excuse for a piss up??? :alcoholic: :spew: Sounds good.
  8. If the price is good, I'm in.
  9. Don't know...maybe try again tomorrow. And afterwards if it comes up the same ask them to explain the price increases. That's what I did last week, they are pretty helpful with this. Suncorp-Metway is Queensland company...Maybe they don't like southerners?
  10. I think I remember an article where Martin Donnan (or someone else) bought one from Japan. Whoever it was it was hell expensive. Atleast a few hundred aussie dollars (300 maybe).
  11. No...always just ring them up. Must be the Sydney thing. Do you live in a bad neighbourhood? Anyone else have experience with Suncorp-Metway and live in Sydney?
  12. I am moving my boost gauge to the left side of the instrument binocle. A mate has his there and it looks pretty cool. And some police have been defecting chrome gauge cups because of glare. Where I went to put this will be down lower than it would be on A pillar, and below the dash line. This is a permanent solution though. As holes need to be made to secure the cup. And a hole drilled to feed vacuum and electrical lines through. As for other gauges, putting air/fuel meter and another where the ash tray is. Any suggestions for the other, whats useful to have? Last question. I have Blitz gauge. Where can I find metric sized gauges cups?
  13. Ouch!!! Might have something to do with Sydney...but I don't know. 24 year old, 0% no claim....$2400. And it went up to $400 when i moved from Gladstone to Brisbane. So I talked them down on my rating to rating 5 so with 20% ncb went down to $2000. What about modifications? Any? Mine doesn't have any...I bought it that way.
  14. Me thinks lag is pretty cool. You can be driving Miss Daisy until your floor it then hold on. Personally I'd hold the steering wheel with one hand cause gear changes come pretty quick. Car becomes Jekyl & Hyde. Can drive around not hitting boost, with no blow off valve noise to attract unwated attention. But you know it's there when you want it.
  15. with onarun there..lot's of QLDers (that i know) go through suncorp-metway. my premium is atleast $600 cheaper than a quote from Just cars. But Just Cars are very flexible with modifications, suncorp may allow 1 or 2 maybe.
  16. The crossover was put just inside the door frame itself. Not sure how much room is behind there on a 33, but the was no room under the door trim to fit it. Wasn't too fidly, you only have to put it there once. A mate of mine did this all for me. I trust what he is doing as he won the IASCA sound quality competion in his novice class in 2000.
  17. The box looked just like this... I think i am reading this right, that does say "standard".....just checking.
  18. Not sure of the exact speaker, if those ones are the silver bullet type of split then yes. I have these in the front. The six is mounted on some MDF behind the door trim. No cutting was necessary.
  19. Box was definately Bendix standards. Got them through Advan in Sydney when I bought my Endless pads.
  20. Damn!!!! how do people afford cars like that? I need a better job. How much would the insurance cost? "Mr X, have there been any modifications done to the car? Umm....No I bought it from Nissan like that."
  21. Got Bendix standards on the back and they seem fine for brake dust.

  23. I want new number plates now.....
  24. 9.99% How long is this for? Most cheap credit card rates are only for the first six months, then up to 14-19%.
