  1. Anyone know people who are handy with a dyno in Brisbane? So i can at least see if i need to get this work done. My car goes fairly good, but i think it's not going quite like it used to, or i am getting used to the speed. Not sure
  2. NIZ30

    Bathurst

Just wondering what us people were doing for the this. Seeing as it is (apparently) the best motorsport event in the country (until a round of the JGTC comes to town anyway). Are there some skyline people getting together to watch this marathon, and bitch about how if the the skyline was still there it would kick all their arses?
  3. They are 3D rendered images. The same as the cartoon. Two of the standard avatars is from this cartoon. The guy doing the thumbs up, and the brake pads glowing red. If you haven't seen it you must have a look. www.chrison.com
  4. Not sure if anyone else has seen this picture, but I think it is a cool idea.
  5. Me and a mate had a huge list of number plate ideas. All designed around QLD plates though. So FR33K is not (cheaply) possible. In QLD it is 3 letters, 2 numbers... ABC12 or 12ABC. We came up with heaps, some that I can remember: TRU57 - TRUST 80OST - BOOST 35OME - 3 Some TUB11 - Tubby (mates nick name) 57OLN - STOLEN DOS12 - Does 12 (13 or whatever, we were gunna go 19 for joke) 500HP - Horse power (yeah sure) A mate was buying a silvia and tried to get a few of these plates, but the good ones were allready taken. So he bought NIZ30, with idea that the 3 is like an "M" on it's side. After he got them I told him it was spelt N.I.S.M.O not with a Z! He didn't end up getting the car, and the plates were the right colour so i bought em off him cheap
  6. Not getting a secured loan for a skyline has little to do with the fact that it is a skyline. Finance companies "taylor" the loan. Meaning they take into account the amount and the age of the car, not the make or origin. Basicly you can't get a secured loan through the big places like Esanda, and VERY difficult through small companies, for any car over five years old (which is most skylines). Even if the car is say, four years old, the interest is just as high as an unsecured loan, but it would have more establishment fees and penalty interest should you try and pay it out early, so wouldn't be worth it. Secured loans are only worth it if the car is brand spanking new. People who can afford a skyline in this catagory usually are involved with businesses anyway, and would choose a Comercial Hire Purchase or Lease for tax reasons.
  7. I know it is desirable, but is it needed? By this I mean will I greatly benefit from this? Could I be possibly harm my engine running how i am now? I have one of those, "modified in Japan" cars. So I don't exactly know what has been done to it. What I do know goes like this... Trust TD06-20G, Trust FMIC, Trust exhaust manifold, Trust wastgate (vented externally ), 5 puck button clutch, Inpul 260kph speedo, Standard computer. What I also think it has... Upgraded fuel pump, extra injector, something done to the management (ie no 180kph speed cut. And not brave enough to find rev limiter, it is not at the red line i know that). It runs happily at 1.5bar. And goes fairly quick now. I am just trying to justify the cost of this. If it is fine now, why bother? But will it go quicker and more reliably with aftermarket management? Also full boost comes on pretty late (about 4500rpm) if it improved this it would also be very beneficial. I have been quoted $2200, installed for Autronic. Also is this any good/is there better for the price? has anyone else been in a similar situation and seen the benefits?
  8. I'll join you on that. I can't make Saturday cause I am getting an alarm installed. Saturday night or sunday for sure.
  9. I bought some endless pads for the front of mine. These were a light blue, if that is the pads you are looking for. Not sure what ones they actuallty are though. The box didn't say (yes i looked properly). Was just told that they are fine for street use. The only thing it had on it was "NA". These seem to be much better than my previous brakes of unknown origin. Both stopping and dust are better.
  10. "Motec system exhaust"
  11. America gets even crapper "Nee-sans" than we do (from the factory). I take this means 2.4 litre and no turbo in a 240sx...i mean 200sx...damn it a silvia! Sorry to be no help by the way. I understand the general consensus would say any turbo from stock on up will handle 1 bar (just).
  12. until your clutch died....sorry bout that, couldn't help myself. btw - don't sell your car. You would be so disappointed going back to a normal car.
  13. :uh-huh: I agree with SPOOLIN. (except the living in adelaide bit)
  14. Was expecting 12's. Terminal speed of 110mph, to give you an idea of my disappointment.
  15. 14.4 or something. Not sure I was so disgusted I threw the timeslips out. The old excuse, i didn't have any traction, but if you saw under the bonnet you would kinda understand. Car was made for drift not drag.
  16. I'm keen
  17. i just joking. anyways 14.2 is better than my best trip down the quarter.
  18. Thanks heaps Birty, TTZ32.
  19. hey JiMiH...Seems to me that launching it at the rev limiter is the go...i would if i could (and go anywhere).
  20. i have seen lots of import cars with these lines. My 32 & my previous 180sx had them too. I was at a tinting place a while back and he was looking at my windows and said to the other fella there that my car had these same lines on it that other people who had been in there. I find it is worse if you wind your windows down while they are wet. I now allways dry my windows well before i put them down.
  21. Get Squizz to do it!!! have seen their previous modifying projects (na/turbo 32) Have heard that Direct Clutch are very good. mates of mine in Gladstone drove down to there to get their cars done there. I would've done the same when my clutch died, except i kinda welded the flywheel & clutch plate together. Interestingly i was able to still drive my car to the local shop this way. Just turned the key and the car lurched and then started. Could change up gear without clutch but not down. I did this very late at night so there was no traffic, cause i couldn't fully stop at intersections, just slow down and hope like hell there was nothing coming. I know what you mean about selling. Allways thinking about getting rid of mine for something more sensible.
  22. $100+K...i'm impressed. I worry about my 20 grand car.
  23. Most people, as is evident in the replies like that induction noise. So i ask, is the problem that it doesn't make the normal blow off valve noise when you change gears? If so, is the vacuum hose connected properly?
  24. I know turbosmart type 2s handle at least 1.5 bar. Is nearly the amount you are looking for.
  25. You drive your R34 GTR like that?!?!?! Cool :burnout:
