OK i got the AFM and just put it in. Started the engine and it looks like its running a bit rich, some black smoke was there but after a short round the block drive i think it readjusted itself and seems to be fine now. The engine light is still on though, i ll try reseting it and see if it goes away. Pretty happy with amayama.com, cheap fast delivery, good reliable service with genuine nissan parts. Thank you all for your input.

Confirmed the order from amayama $116 AUD including postage. They r saying it will take 2 weeks and i ll have to pay the difference for the customs duty tax. For a small item i dont think its gonna be that much anyway. I believe its the best deal out there so far and needs to be considered for a mass order.

Just jap in sutherland has a 2nd hand for $110. I m just not sure if its worth it, they r saying it came out of a running stagea, but they will not guarantee if it works nor they will take it back if it doesnt work. Still best bet is to wait an answer form amayama i suppose.

Also found 1 in here for $275 plus postage.. http://www.sinergymotorsports.com.au/cart/products-page/nissan-stagea-m35/mass-air-sensor-nissan-stagea-m35-2-5l

i put an inquiry to amayama.com, i ll post their response. If its cheaper then maybe a mass order can be considered if you guys like.

Ok i finally managed to get the error code which is 0100, relating to the air flow meter sensor according to the error code table. Now if $255 plus tax is about right, i will have to order one from Lander Nissan in Prospect NSW. On the other hand its possible to order 1 from amayama.com as well for $110 USD plus expenses like, shipping etc. Which one would be the better option? the wait period will be around 2 weeks in both cases.

Ok i will try it a few more times b4 i go and get the part. I called a cpl of nissan spare parts and have been told different figures which is interesting. One said $650 plus tax for afm , and $255 for sensor only, the other said $355 plus tax. I am sure if i only replace the sensor it should work if the problem is only the sensor right? i have the part number as 22680N21A. Is this correct? also how much should i expect it be for? there is none on ebay at the moment. Where else can i source one in Australia if i need to? Cheers

ok i tried this a few times and it was unsuccessfull. I am doing it exactly as the post says which i followed the link above. It is quite straight forward, when i turn the ignition on but not start it, all the lights come on including abs and airbag which go off in a cpl of secs, thats when i start pushing and releasing the accelerator which didnt work. I tried this when the ignition on when only the radio is on as well and didnt work again. I will go to Lander Nissan to get a new afm , hopefully the mechanic is correct and i will get away with just the afm. Thanks for all the input i really appreciate it.

i ll get a brand new afm from nissan and install it.. unfortunately i dont know how to read the error codes even tho i went thru the posts which explain it. the smoke is dark color more like black than blue or white. But i can certainly smell some oil burning too. i ll post the results when i get the new afm. Cheers

The mechanic thinks its quite likely the air flow meter, not the turbo... but i really wouldnt mind a nother opinion from someone who really knows a lot about this model. I live in westmead, i would really appreciate if you could spare some time to have a look at it, i can give you my mobile if i m in your area or close to you. But if its not on your way or close, i will just look for a replacement air flow meter which i would assume should cost a lot cheaper than a turbo.. Cheers Murat

Got a friends' mechanic friend coming to have a look at it today just to diagnose the prob. Started the engine again this morning, it was idling sort of ok and was able to move the car a bit, but engine light was on and it was still smoky. Thanks for the input, once i make sure its the turbo, i ll pm you if you dont mind Jetwreck. Oh and i m in Sydney now, used to be ACT....

Hi everyone, I think i have a blown turbo on my 03, 250 rx t . It has 95k on the clock and its stock other than a turbo back exhaust system. This afternoon i could not start the car, a cpl of tries later it did start but something was wrong. It was running very poor and i could smell oil burning and it would deny to rev above 3000. I just wanted to get an idea of you guys before i call a mechanic in to tell me what it is and how much it would cost to fix it. Similar posts were made by fellow stagea owners and there were some nasty numbers quoted. So any advice will be most appreciated. I would have expected the turbo to last more than 100k kms especially if its left stock, but oh well i think sh*t happens.... There is also another problem that i would like to mention. Recently when i brake it feels like the disks need machining but the funny thing is i do not feel it on the brake but on the gear knob instead. one mechanic told me that it could be the front lower control arms which i purchased from Japan, then another mechanic told me that the arms were ok but the prob is from the diff mounting bush. Geting confused , took the car to another mechanic and to my surprise he said it wasnt the diff mounting bush either and he could not identify the problem. Told me that it would be ok and not to worry too much. But the thing is if i go a bit heavy on the accelerator, it really can be felt even when you are not the driver. First things first, i think i need to fix the turbo in a most cost efficient way as i m in between jobs at the moment...... Thank you all kindly Murat

Hi all, I too have the same problem, got my rear windscreen shattered and looking for a replacement asap. I would greatly appreciate if any of you have one or know how to get one. Cheers. 0416 800 918

Thanks very much indeed It is indeed an 03 model, i must have mistyped, sorry for the misunderstanding. I have decided to go with the E-Manage as it seems and sounds as the best fit. And its only 785$ including harness on ebay now. I am also thinking of getting Legalis R or HKS Demoda, not sure which one yet. And the next step will be dump pipe. As for how far i am willing to go, i have to consider that this is my work vehicle as well as pleasure , so i ll have to put a limit on it. But who knows... I like the car as it s also a very comfy family car too. And i will post some photos as soon as i get it cleaned up a bit

Hi all, I have been following this forum for quite some time now and i am truely greatful for all the information shared so i thank you all. As i am a new member ( did not have time to commit for various reasons before ), i wanted to get some advice about how to get my stag running a bit better ( i also know there are multiple threads regarding various topics which i have already read ) as brief as possible. I reside in ACT and from what i have found out, the only place to go seems to be Trojan Motorsports to get all the mods done. I have recently got myself a 04 250T RX with only 50k on it and in mint condition with just a cpl small faults which i have already fixed. My questions are ; - do i really need to highflow the turbo to get more out of it ? or would it be better with mods like ecu upgrade + exhaust, etc. Guys at Trojan told me that they can put in Apexi power fc and would get quite a punch, but from what i read it is not advised as it is not compatible with m35s, that greddy ultimate or HKS would be a better choice? . - is there a way to remove the limiter which is always there when you want rapid accelaration - knowing that the RX have 2 din unit integrated with the A\C controllers, is there a way and/or a brand to upgrade the screen and make it possible to use the sat nav/TV in Aus ( or to replace it with something else completly ) I am not a mechanic myself but i m trying to self tutor as much as i can, whenever i can. I really appreciate all your input, and thank you once again.
