  1. How much are you willing to spend Doug so I know what you are looking at. There are a few around. There was a ripper Gun Metal Grey one I looked at that I think is still for sale but I dont know about $27k but it would not be far off. There was a black one also I think is still there. It was a little untidy but mechanically very good. I think it is still around also. Mick.
  2. Doug, Where is this car? What color is it? I not long ago bought a 32 gtr and drove heaps of them. If you tell me these details I may be able to give you insight into it a bit if I know the particular car. Many of the ones I looked at are still for sale. Mick
  3. Get it checked out properly. If you need to whack it on a jig.
  4. See what you can do but I would not put the house on it. However for the record it is garbage that he cannot do anything about it once it is logged. He just didn't want too. Mick.
  5. Sorry what car, model etc do you have?
  6. Hmm I dont know them too be honest. I know the guys at TopPerformance Koni do a lot of work and all sort of different shocks so they may be worth a call. They are in Mitchum. Mick.
  7. What brand of shocks are they? Might be better just to get some new ones.

    shocks...

Harder in the rear will promote oversteer as the ass can't drop to transfer wait and hard front will promote understeer. To find the best settings put both front and back to half way between full hard and full soft and take the car for a run on a good bit of road you know. Then take 1/4 turn off front and run again. Then put back to half on front and drop back 1/4 turn. See which is better. Then keep playing going the way that it was improving until it gets too a point were you do not think it is getting better. Take note of how far up or down the front or rear is and keep that setting difference no matter how you run it. Forinstance you might find that 1/4 turn softer front to rear is the best setting. On the road you may want it soft so set front to full soft and rar 1/4 turn hard. But on the track you want firmer, set front I turn up and rear 1 1/4 turns up. This way you hold the balance but reset how stiff you want it. It would be best to run this on a track but if you can't you can play on the road, just keep it sensible. Remember if you are going all out you cannot truly feel the car as well as you can on 8/10ths. Dont forget too get your tyre pressures set equal before you start. Mick.
  9. I am looking for a wiring diagram or a bit of help with the wiring colors of an Ultra Speed Meter 4000 I have bought (second hand) so that I can fit it too the car and remove the speed limiter. The wire colors are Red (which looks like 12v +) Black (which looks like earth) Green (which I am told goes to the rev imput on the ecu) Purple (which I have been told goes to the cut wire in 53 but which side (comp or harness) I dont know) Orange (same as the purple) If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Mick.
  10. The extra cost usually associated with Aust delivered cars comes from them having service history etc too prove the amount of kms they have done. These KMS in this car are probably genuine where as you could add anything upto 100,000kms onto what an import says on the clock. I should know I looked at heaps and have bought one. Many of the imports said 70,000 kms on the clock. Yeah right. Lucky if they were 175000. That is a cheap car for Aust delivery and if you are looking may be worth a look. Be careful though. A lot of people get into the 32 just being able to afford then and then something goes wrong and the extra $5-10K they cannot find. Mick.
  11. Do you have a standard air intake on this car. If so how much you want for it? Mick.
  12. Whilst they are both quick the Hy would eat my car. Man that is scary quick. Mick
  13. RevHead, Jeez don't laugh at 11.2. Man if I ever get the GTR to that time you will hear my woops of joy, vitcory etc from Toowoomba. The times on the GSX-R and the Hayabusa are real quick and the best I have heard too this point. Like I said no one I know of has actually cracked that 10 sec mark. 450 hp with 300kilos scary. Mick.
  14. What times have you run down the quarter on your 900? When all the serious bike Boys around here go out they have never got under 10 sec. I hear it from people that they can do it but as yet have not heard who has done it. The zx7r has exhaust and feul system mods and ran an 11.7. He weighs in at around 75kgs. To get this time he slips the clutch right through first and most of second gear. Will be interested to see what your fireblade runs. Don't think I am some sort of dick I know that it will kill my car but I am interested in real achieved times on the bikes. Mick.
  15. I too have beaten a CBR 600 and a 900 sports/tourer type bike. Your car Dave should kick them big time. Not a surprise with your car on the Lambo front either. I want to have a go at a zx7r that my mate owns. Going on 1/4 mile times it will be close. Now add in a few corners and now we can run right past the bikes. Mick.
  16. Jeez guys a Boxster. In a GTR you could take off in second and ditch him. Give me a 996 TT then we can have some fun. Mick.
  17. Glad that you enjoyed it and that you were impressed by it. I do love it but I own it so I am a little bias. I certainly would recommend getting one. I take the car to Race Pace in Bayswater. The guy who runs it name is Ben. Mick.
  18. Man, You must have enjoyed the ride. Mick.
  19. Croydon. I have a GTR so if you want to go for a ride I can take you. It is a 32 with 240 rwkw. If this is of interest PM me. Mick.
  20. Were abouts in Melbourne are you Jet? Mick
  21. You can get brighter globes, I run 130w on my GTR high beams and it makes a massive difference as I think the standard lights are crap with the 85w globes. I do a lot of driving at night and do not like to not be able to see everything. I have been used to really bright lights on other cars and the gtr's just dont cut it for the performance of the car. In terms of keeping the low beams on when the high beams come on you simply need to run a diod (Sp) in the wiring between the high and low bean trigger wire so that power can run too the low beams when the highs come on. You may also need to run a relay to help boost the high beam switch depending on what condition it is in. This will cost about $2.50 for the diodes and getting somone who has a clue to put them in for you. If I can next week I will give you the wiring colors. Mick.
  22. Take it off itis much better. Car handles so much better and is more predictable when it is gone. Get rid of it. Best handling mod you will ever do. Mick.
  23. Check your Air Flow Meters if you have them, especially if you have pod filters. The oil from the pods can bake onto the Air Flow Meters which makes the car lean right out. Take the Air Flow Meter off and hit it with some Carby Cleaner then some contact cleaners. Refit and test again. It worked for me. Mick.
  24. I am into triumphs and owned a PI which I rebuilt and warmed up. Which Triumph was it a 2500PI or did you put the fuel injection on a 2000? Mick.
  25. I am sorry to hear about what happened too your friends and am very pissed off that this is going to have a huge impact on all of us and make it even more difficult to find a decent piece of road to drive our cars on. it is hard enough to find a decent road without these dickheads bringing attention too it. I too have driven this road many hundreds of times and it is one of the great pieces left available. These dickheads will probably have no idea what an impact this will have. As usual a fe small minded people will make it so that the rest of us will be penalised for this. Mick.
