As stated above the real benefit of left foot braking in a classic style manual car is that you can balance the car out with it as well as creating more turn in and bite especially on bumpy surfaces with harder suspension/rebound set up. There are few if any circuits that I have been on that do not benefit from left foot braking. Any corner that hold the same gear from the braking point to the exit will benefit from LFB. But for me the truest benefit is that LFB provides is the abilty to set the car up firmer for mid corner speed and the rear slightly softer for out of corner acceleration but still be able to hold the front down under turnin. WIth LFB you can be placing power to the rear to start the car tightenig to the inside of the corner and keep the nose turned in and weight biased towards the front without pushing the car through the corner. Does that description make sence? In the end left foot braking is a real asset to those that do it well. Mick.

Need advise on new purchase!
Mick Trainer replied to jlnewton's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The best thing you can do now is drive as many of all opf them as you can. Go to yards etc where they have them and take them all for a drive and see what you like. Like I said in your other thread I bought a 32 GTR because it was what I liked. I would not sell it for a 33 GTR due to reasons stated but that is me and the driving I like. Mnay think the exact opposite way and I can understand that thinking. Certainly if you can offord it a 34 GTR would be great. Put the word out in the QLD section of the forum that you would like a ride in some GTR's and see what you get. It will give you a far better feel for what they are like. For me to even think of selling my GTR for a later model GTST seems ludicrous. The car simply fits me like a glove, from the moment I drove one I knew it was the car for me. It suits me driving style and type of driving I do. You simply need to find which one suits yours. Mick. -
Juts me opinion but I prefer the 32 due to it's lower weight and feel. I drive many of both before I bought my 32. I could have gotten a 33 (would have been a bigger stretch) but the 32 just fitted better right from the start. Dont take anything away from a 33 it is great car but for the type of driving etc I like the 32 just had it. But I did get a 33 motor in my 32 for the reasons mentioned above. There are a few 32's getting around now with reced motors etc that can be bought cheap. mick.

For me I would say go the GTR but I have one so am biased. I just think it is a better base with the attessa system. Not to take anything away from a GTST but if track work is appealing to you the traction offered by the GTR is hard to beat. Personally I could not care less about 1/4 mile times other than for bragging rights but around corners is where I have my fun. You can get power from both (less mods generally on a GTR but about the same cost when you take into consideration to purchase price) if you mod them but once you get to a point the attessa makes a massive difference as traction can be achieved. For the record though the biggest thing that will make a difference to times on the track is you. Doesn't matter how good the car is if you can't steer it right. Mick. -
Can we ask for requests if there is something specific we want? Mick.

Sounds really nice. I remember when I first got mine. Was still driving at around 2.30am. In all my time in cars I have never found a car fit so well as a GTR. Congrats and good luck with it. Hope you have years of good driving out of it. I am only in Croydon so may see you around. Mick.

GTR N1 turbo's 4 sale
Mick Trainer replied to R31 GTR's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Ok excuse my ignorance here but what is the difference between N1 trubos and standards? Do they have steel exhuast blades? or dothey simply flow more air? Mick. -
I dont know where you can get these patches of footage from now days. I have never seen them on DVD and we had them cause of links with motorsport people and running the advanced driver training. If you can't find them then let me know and I can do a copy of it for you if you get me a video tape. The quality can be a little rough now days but still worth it and I will need a few weeks to do it time wise. Another piece I have which I love in I have the in car footage of Senna doing the fastest Lap around Adelaide. Just lets me remember his greatness esp when the cars were so hard to drive back then. Really nice piece of footage. Mick.

I ordered my copy of rendezvour yesterday and should have it in a few days. I have a copy on video but this should be heaps better as the quality is poor. It is without question one of the best pieces of real life driving footage ever filmed. There are many rumours sorrounding it like that the driver is actually a F1 driver of the time etc. Along with the Ruf Porsche circulating around Nurburgringn and Arri going up pickes Peak, it is my favourite footage of all time. Hurry up mail man, Mick.

WoooHooo, That is tons. 500 may not be out of reach. If you dont mind me asking where is it starting to spool up? In that body that is going to be hard to beat. I will keep in touch with Ben would like to see it run sometime. That should be incredible both down the 1/4 mile and around the island. Mick.
