  1. Hey guys does anyone have a torque wrench I can borrow on the weekend? Me and dad are swapping the whole from suspension/hub assembly on his 32 and looking at the service manual we're gonna need a torque wrench lol. Cheers, Drew
  2. Just found/read the whole thread. Now I know the history. JZA70 FTW! Now show me the supra already!
  3. Hey mate you don't happen to have a stock JDM S15 ECU by any chance do you? Shoot me a PM
  4. I'll be going to check it out. Won't be hitting the track though but if the gtr is back on the road by then (which I doubt it will be lol) I'll be keen to cruise up in it
  5. Noob question - roughly how long would a basic rebuild take?
  6. Stupid phone doing multiple posts - sorry
  7. Triple post - oops
  8. If Jax in fyshwick still repair/reprint wheels that's where I got a seriously damaged rim on my old mr2 repaired a couple of years back. They did a really good job in the small time frame I gave them. If I remember correctly one of the guys on here in the ACT section works there now?
  9. Oooohhhh ok makes sense now lol
  10. I'm confused :S
  11. That would be freaking awesome lol
  12. That's hot lol Has it been round Canberra for a while? Looks familiar. I always wanted a hardtop, mine is an aero top and whenever the roof was off you could feel the car flex when cornering lol. Does it have the awesome red supra badge on the front? If not I've got a spare if you want it
  13. it didn't work lol
  14. Yeah I knew the engine had to come out. Do you have a bigger sump on your racepace motor?
  15. Haha definitely going to have a chat to him then. So when do I get to see pics of this JZA70R that you're getting your hands on?
  16. I have a list of everything somewhere lol will post it up tonight when I get home from work. As for Brads work, is it just dry sumps or does he do high capacity sumps as well? I don't think I'll be able to afford any sump mods at the moment unless most of the internals are ok and we have spare cash. It's definitely something on the cards for the future though when the car starts visiting the track
  17. Yeah I saw those actually. Tempting. Would probably bring the cost of everything down a little bit. Think it would be stronger than what we've already got?
  18. as in custom high capacity sumps?
  19. I'm definitely keen to check it out. GTR should be all good by then but i highly doubt id enter.
  20. The one thing I tried to take into account when choosing a GTR was oil starvation.....i knew it was gonna happen at some point, just didn't think it would be the day after we picked the car up lol.
  21. You don't work in fyshwick?
  22. All of this is making me feel a lot better about our situation. Thanks heaps guys. I guess first step is finding out exactly what's ruined and needs fixing and then just go from there. The whole swap another engine in idea has gone out the window lol. A little off topic....I work in fyshwick on Newcastle street and across the road from my shop in the carpark near j racing is a white 32 GTR with a black front bar that I see nearly every day, does it belong to anyone on here?
  23. Just out of curiosity how much did you guys spend on your rebuilds? You don't have to say if you don't want to. And Richard you said you just had your second rebuild done, where was the first done and what happened?
  24. $400 really? Fridge has helped me out a lot over the last couple of weeks I dunno why I didn't even think to ask him lol. So CRD are as good as I've heard then. Hmmm as you can imagine this is all a massive headf$&k lol
  25. I've definitely thought about that, even to the extent of talking to CRD on the phone. The main problem we faced though was actually getting the car there as we don't have something capable of towing a car trailer. That's the only reason we've decided to get it done in Canberra. Speaking of Canberra, I went out to the place that zebra suggested and it didn't look like it had been used in a while. The front gate was open but everything else was shut and nobody responded to my knocking or phone calls. So I went and had another chat to Glenn at ESP and the car is now going into the shop next Wednesday to have the engine pulled and stripped down to find out exactly what needs to be replaced/fixed and how much it's going to cost. If anyone on here has the space, time and know-how between now and then to help me pull the engine out then let me know! Lol Seriously though....help! Keep the advice coming guys. Cheers, Drew
