Just this one Scotty? Have you heard of any more of these failing? Hoping it was a one off as I have a 300 ready to go on, heard they were a good unit.
-
I did a similar thiing to you, got as much info as I could from as many places as I could and made a decision from there. I too have a GTX3076 ready to bolt on along with 6Boost highmount etc etc, had the intention of using WMI but United now sell E85 so my plan has changed slightly. I for one will be very interested to hear how your tune goes, good luck!

Looking forward to seeing the results!

Thanks mate good info, just bought myself a set after reading your post
-
I have been doing alot of research on here myself and I can see you point for sure. It can be frustrating but I think a positive I have found from having to do all the reading is you get to learn who on this forum really knows what they're talking about and who is just repeating information that they've heard somewhere. That becomes pretty important especially if you have single point of reference which you would like - then you would want to make sure you actually have the correct information in there. Also there is always going to be different opinions even amongst the most knowlegeable blokes here 'different ways to skin a cat' so to speak. Good idea, just my 2c.

R32 Rb25 Powered Gtx35R Build
3Katz replied to nick81xd's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Yeah you're right, the Xspurt 1000's will handle it and I can just use my new intank pump as a lift for a surge tank so that will work out ok. If United remain a reliable source for good E85 then that will be excellent! Make sure you let us all know once you get a tune on ethanol as well be very interesting to see the same setup tuned on 98 then retuned on E85. -
R32 Rb25 Powered Gtx35R Build

Sure do I'm over in Bargara, just about to start a little build soon but have bought fuel system components to suit 98. Might have to upgrade once it's up and running.... Good thread mate, very keen to hear how it goes once tuned! -

^^^ Scotty has excellent prices on injectors and a knowledgable bloke too. How are mine going mate?

A little late in the thread but as customer service from 6Boost was raised I thought it only fair that I shared my experience for anyone else viewing this thread with an eye to purchase a manifold. I found Kyle to be easy to deal with over the phone and via email and to expand on that, once he saw the delivery destination was to a flood affected area (Bundaberg) he offered to cover the shipping costs off his own bat. Pretty happy with that. Certainly not a shot at you Scotty (especially as you are still working on my injectors!!!) it was only an 'of the shelf' twin scroll highmount and I'm certainly not saying that it is how everyone is treated but though I'd add my experience.

You're in a similar boat to me in that 98 will hold back the full potential of the GTX, good to hear you made 300+ though as I have a very similar set up to yours nearly ready to put together. Have you had a read of the WMI thread? If you don't have ethanol readily available it may be worth looking into...

I have wondered this my self and found very little solid information. I have a R33 Greddy plenum here and have some inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets on order from Nissan to suit a NEO, so as long as the Greddy manifolds are matched to the R33 head correcly we should get an answer. I'll post up results once the gaskets arrive.

Well that must be the case - even the GTT PFC must run a TPS output to the correct pin for ATTESA even though it doesn't require it. That's lucky. Well if the 4WD worked ok on your Stagea there's no reason it shouldn't on mine - great!
-
Well that's good to know, I suspected as much. I guess the PFC has a TPS output to the correct pin regardless if the unit is for a RWD vehicle or a 4WD... Wolverine was the PFC you fitted to your RS4S to suit a GTR or a GTT?

Will An Aftermarket Engine Ecu Affect Attesa?
3Katz replied to 3Katz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks guys that's good info, very interesting. I have a PFC from a GTT here somewhere and that's why the question initially crossed my mind. Being for a RWD vehicle it may not have the TPS output. It's possible that it does have the output say the same as a GTR version but it's just not utilised in a non 4wd vehicle. Others have used the same ECU in a Stagea and say 4WD works ok I guess the easiest way would be to plug it in and see but that would mean getting a tune which would be a waste if I wasn't going to use it, food for thought..... -
This is an interesting topic, well definately to me anyway! Your not the only one that had to do this blind_elk had to run a TPS feed to the ATTESA module with his Wolf ECU. It would seem that possibly the engine ECU does send a signal to the ATTESA system... In my mind it would make sense in that hard cornering off throttle wouldn't require the ATTESA system to engage the front wheels. Not to say that it would do any harm if it did but it seems to me to be quite a smart system and throttle position a pretty basic input. Maybe it's as Scotty nm35 says and it could be an input but not a critical one... As GTSBoy says in the other thread it is hard to get a definitive answer with the communication system between ECU's, I guess unless it flags a critical fault through say a fault light on the dash then the system may not be running as well as it should and you wouldn't know.

This is interesting... I posted this question in the Stagea section as well and KiwiRS4T said he thinks he had to to a similar thing when installing his G4 in his series 1, out of interest is your engine a NEO or the R33? I think G4 is PnP right? -
Cheers, yeah I read about the secret squirrel fix. Good thing there's tech savvy guys out there happy to sort the issues out and share them, appreciated.

4bidn1 that sounds like a great set up, if I didn't already have a pfc I'd definately go with a Nistune sounds like a great product, everyone that has one seems very happy with it
-
Thanks for the info guys, I have PFC in a box here somewhere so it's good to hear I can use it without it affecting the 4wd. And now it's not just a case of - use this one it works. I can understand why it works. Cheers.

Will An Aftermarket Engine Ecu Affect Attesa?
3Katz replied to 3Katz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ah thanks mate, good info, just what I was after. The speed signal coming direct from the speedo definately rings a bell now that you mention it. Yes I find these systems tricky to figure out I deal with CAN bus and CAT data link a bit through work and it definately pays to ask around before cracking out the schematics as someone has likely been down the same road before. Cheers -
Yes there is lots of info out there which is conflicting, some say ATTESA only requires input from the G sensor which would be great and others say it needs input from a whole range including throttle position, G sensor, wheel speed and even brake lights. There is nothing besides basic tuning that I require from an ECU as long as it doesn't affect the operation of the ATTESA system. So I could plug in any aftermarket ECU and the ATESSA system would work exactly as before?
