  3. its in the current isue of drift battle. very nice! 'currently the best presented drift car in australia' maybe a steering wheel change is in order...
  4. ive had heaps of problems and delays with batteries. jumping from another car just made things worse for me, as it ran down that car battery too. i ended up on just buying a cheap ($15) charger, and i woudnt reccomend it, it gave me grief for several days. at first the charge indicator (4 LEDs) worked, but then they just stopeed working, but it seemed to still be charging the battery, as it was hot and humming. several days later it still hadnt chrged it, so i swapped the battery for a tiny one i had lying around. left it on overnight and it charged it up enough to start it. if you want to charge it, its a good idea, but dont buy a cheap charger, there crap (my one was, other ones might work) spend some extra money, and keep it for if you have this problem again! the good ones start at about 60. new batteries cost about that much, depending on where you get them. im just so sick of batteries. they just piss me off! i had problems for months!
  5. hey all i recently got a old car for free from a neighbor. its a 1979 chrysler sigma gl. :aroused: you can stop laughing now. im not old enough for a licence, so this is a good oppertunity for me to practise driving and repairs. its good cause its plauged with problems, and i cant drive it properly until its fixed. the biggest problem is the gearbox. (i have mentioned this in the thread about dead auto boxes) start engine, put in drive. rev to get it to drive, and when it does it hop a little and grinds gears (ever heard a ride on mowers hydro-clutch?) car goes about 20meters, then stops. box dissconects, just like neutral. stop engine. wait for it to cool, then start again, sometimes it drives, but only for awhile. it shits itself on flats, so its got no hope on hills. unless its going down. i think its ripping itself apart, but everyone ive talked to says its fluid related. is this true? im going to take of the bottom plate and tighten the bands, and while im at it change the fluid. i havent really had a chance to check he fluid, i did when it was cold...on a slope and it was way over the top. any ideas? there are several more problems, which i might post later. mostly brake and carby related.
  6. im having similar problems with my sigma (shut up!) start it, rev it moderately to get it to go and it shudders and hops forward a bit, with the sound of grinding, it goes for about 20metres then it disconnects, just like putting the clutch down in a manual. then you turn the motor off and 'let it cool'. then you start again and it goes for a while, then screws itself again. i havent really had a chnce to have a look under it, but i want to tighten the bands and change the fluid. but its at the bottom of a hill and my shed is at the top...might have to tow it back up. can anyone help me on this? is it purely fluid related, or is it tearing itself apart?
  7. relative to the fools calling it the r35-gtr, its v35 cause of the V6, not the 'rb' inline six
  8. 'the only pathfinder in the mid west on 24's' gee wonder why what an acheivement. today i saw a black landcruiser on 20's. not a scratch, apart from those hectic carparks, ohh need a bullbar there or well never get out alive isnt that why the old black hard plastic and metal bumpers are no longer on cars? dont fiberglass bumpers designed to absorb an impact? then you put a bullbar on..
  9. oh, and by the way, was that repco indro? with jb and cash converters in it? that a stupid car park, ive had many close calls. see attached picture to add to my last post. it was on sau before, and whoever posted it thanks.
  10. ok here goes of the many things i get really staemed up about, its 4wds in the city. ok, i wont lie, i have a 4wd. its a 86 hilux 4wd trayback(affectonately named henry), and yes, it has spotties, bullbar, lift, big tyres. but heres the difference. i live about an hour out of the city (near gatton), and yes, it isnt the 'outback', but we use henry for work, and carting things. we had a box trailer for a long time before that, and that wasnt satisfactry, so we got a cheap tray 4wd. just before you say you prob drive it around the city, it has never gone closed to bris than ipswich. it rarely leaves our area. we do go into the city (every day) and we have cars for that. now, back to the other issue. 4wds in the city just goes to show how selfish the majorety of us are. now the small 'suvs' like crv ect arent so bad (even though they are rather stupid, claiming to have off road ability) but its the tanks like landcruisers. now, i like the proper 4wds that are actually used for offroading, and if you have one and actually go off road, thats fine. but what really pisses me off is the soccermums that own pajeros ect and rekon they are top shit, cause they have extra ride height they can go on the dirt car park behind the suburban petrol station. 2%of 4wds actaully go off road, ever (current model prados ect will be gold in ten years, as they will be cheap and old enough to use off road and are in perfect condition cause they were never properly used) one of those flamboyant sensationalist current affair shows did a survey of 4wd owners (normally these shows are complete and utter bullshit(and i watch them for a laugh) but they were making a good point in this one, but they didnt really care, they just wanted to get viewers) and the majorety of soccermums buy them 'to protect their families in a crash'i dont know about you guys, but this just schows how f**king slfish these god danmed yupis really are. 'ill sacrifice some complete strangers to protect my own family, when they really probebly wouldnt be hurt anyway". adding of bullbars just enhances this more. also, this just proves the spawning of the new type of car, the gayest, most pointless and pathetic genre ever though possible, the luxury 4wd. too big and bulky to fit in the tight cbd. too heavy and loaded with leather, metallic paint to risk damage to go off road. where does it belong? it the garages of rich, selfish barstards. that feels better.
  11. when you do it, make sure you wear long sleeves pants ect, unless you want to be itchy. a mask is always a good idea too what a dodgy company (if it is) make sure they know about it

  16. sigma! nah, a stagea would suit nicely. bit plain looking but the autech kit is delicious. a chaser would be good too, how bout a vip cima/q45/celcior ect? get yourself a copy of hpi no 49, inside is a 4door import guide. what an cool wife
  17. i saw a 2jz with blck and white covers, look real nice and different. everyone uses red, blue, chrome ect. white a fresh change. go for it!
  18. theres a good reason its the best selling sports car ever, even if it is a bit poofy in standard trim. but bullet are doing the right thing, good on em..
  19. although its not a written rule i think that drift is open to all cars, but it originated in japan, with japanese cars, so it seems a bit wierd to see a ute out there. or any aussie car there for that matter. just seems weird to me. holden/ford fans have v8 supercars, and import lovers have drift. you dont see many imports out at bathurst (oh wait- the legendary r32 that was banned)(i think)so i think thats why a local car seems weird. isnt that why we buy imported cars anyway? cause local cars arent interesting enough? my opinin anyway..
