  1. strange turn of events, i got home and car started without a hitch. Stunned :| but glad. measured the voltages, reading a steady 14.0-14.1 Cheers for the help Martin
  2. hmm alright. yeh i did just install a walbro pump. it was working fine too, until i did this re-wire.
  3. oh ok, i'll have a look when i get home tonight. What will it mean if it does click, and vice versa?
  4. not too sure what kind of relay, but it has all the numbers lol. i asked jaycar and they gave me this particular relay. I'm assuming it's the same because same termnial numbers... i dont know if it clicks because when i try to start my car all i hear is it trying to start up lol. Kinda too far away from the relay to hear what it's doing.
  5. oh i forgot to mention that too. i have power through 8g cable to inline fuse (30A), and that's connected to relay terminal 30. So in saying that, i have no idea why it isn't starting up if you say that's the only issue?
  6. what do you mean 2 smaller posts? ok so i've done this: 1. pos wire from ecu to relay terminal 85 2. pos wire from pump to terminal 87 3. neg wire from pump to battery 4. neg wire from ecu to nothing (taped off) 5. wire from pin 86 to bolt on chasis for ground. no start, just struggles. i also tried connecting neg wire from ECU to pin 86 and nothing as well, just car struggling. the pos black/yellow wire joins into 1 from 3 separate ones, so i just cut the joined single one (if that makes sense)
  7. I'm finding it weird that the negative wire from the ECU is taped off. I followed this tutorial, but when i try to start her up, it won't start up. It just tries to? Does the negative wire from the ECU really get taped off, or am i supposed to ground that wire to the chasis?
  8. cheers mate
  9. hmm got a link? don't really feel like hacking away at the filter lol.
  10. top feed, high impedence? Will it fit directly onto my 34 GTT neo?
  11. Tried having a quick search, but can't really find one. Where did you get yours from?
  12. Thanks for the fast responses guys. Any particular plumb back BOV's you can recommend? The atmo one came with the car when i bought it, so I've never really touched it. Also, what's involved in installing one? Just replacing my atmo with a regular BOV (straight bolt on replacement?) and then a pipe connecting from the BOV to the return that's been blocked off in my photo?
  13. Was changing my spark plugs yesterday, when the cap on this pipe snapped off. I didn't have time to find a replacement, so I just electrical taped it back on (blue electrical tape in the photo) Anyone know what it is, and where i can get a new cap for it so it's not held on dodgily by tape lol. I think it's been on there for so long, that it hardened and just snapped of whilst i was getting all fiddly with the spark plug change. cheers!
  14. will it fit 34gtt? and does it have camber control?
  15. white r34 and white r35 zillas at norwest maccas tonight
  16. *socket and ratchet lol, but yes. Sorry for the commotion all
  17. got the leak all sorted out! Just loosened up each pipe connection, pushed the pipes further into the socks, and re-tightened lol. I believe the leak noise was coming from inside the engine bay, so probably a crap fitting into the pipes in the engine bay.
  18. hmmm, maybe not as high pitched of a noise, but yes something similar to that. Sounds kinda like vibrations off the piping or something.
  19. Can't seem to download the audio file james. It won't let me... I saw the how to test for leaks mighty car mods video, and it's how you described using the pvc end cap and air nozzle. But they use an air compressor to pump air inside. As i said earlier, i don't have access to one, and i'm scared a bicycle foot pump is way too small and will take ages to fill up the intake system.
  20. hmmm alright thanks guys. I'll have to strip it down and check where it could be leaking from. Are there any cheap ways of testing for where the leaks are, because I don't own an air compressor or smoke machine or anything.
  21. Hey all, So after fitting my fmic, I've noticed a kind of high pitched (sort of metallic whining sound) when i put my foot down. I've checked all connections from the intercooler, and everything is on tight. It sounds like it's coming from the front of the car, maybe slightly on the turbo side (but not too sure). Any ideas what it could be? I can try get a video of it, though I'm not too sure how good my phone will be at recording the sound. Car sounds fine when driving normally, and hits my max boost of 10psi no problems (apart from the extra lag expected from installing the cooler). But yeh, the high whining sound kicks in maybe after 3k RPM or so. Not sure if it's a normal sound after installing a fmic or if i have a leak somewhere :\
  22. haha thanks all. The head got stripped and i was stuck. the other side came off heaps easier with just a normal socket. the reo was literally hanging on that 1 bolt. My mate came over with a breaker bar and deep socket, but it was too late.. SO, did some very dangerous angle grinding lol... anyways, all fitted now with a lot of blood spilled and cursing to the days!! john, no way i couldve drivven anywhere. no intercooler and car was in pieces! haha
  23. hey all, trying to install my fmic. I have ONE nut left to take off, to take the reo off. It's the one that you don't need to completely loosen because it's a slide one, and it's on the drivers side. I've spammed with wd40 and been trying for the past 30mins >.<' bloody frustrating and i need to get it off, cos i need to leave the house in a few hours for uni lol. Anyone know of any way to loosen it up easy?? My socket won't fully reach the nut because of the protruding threads. when i chuck on my extension on the socket, it's even worse cos the extension piece goes into the socket piece more.
