  1. oh ok, makes sense. I had a look under my hood today and found the following. The thing circled in red is the stock boost sensor, and the yellow and blue lines are the same line, however they are connected through the thing i boxed in green. My questions are.. WHAT is the thing boxed in green?? And should i T into the hose that i've marked yellow or blue? I just don't want to be cutting into a hose im not 110% sure about lol. Sorry for the hassle. Cheers, Kevin
  2. thanks mate, i'll have a look after work today. Hopefully it's the same layout in the 34. What is the reason that both the stock and aftermarket gauges work with this layout?
  3. sorry, I'm really amateur and locating things in my engine bay, still learning. Could you provide a photo and circle the actual hose to T into please? Not used to seeing the engine out of the bay lol, and don't really know what a plenum is. I would like to directly use the old vacuum line of the existing boost gauge, but as I understand, the stock ones is electrical?
  4. SOOOO, any update on a photo where the T piece should be? I'm looking at getting an aftermarket boost gauge also, but am also confused where to put the piece :\
  5. pics with the bar on the car? what type of bar is it?
  6. hahaha knew someone would say something of the sort
  7. Hey Mark, I emailed you regarding buying one of these boost controllers. Keen on getting one!
  8. intercooler still for sale? will it suit GTT?
  9. Thanks, definately worth the effort (not much effort actually, just a lot of waiting haha) Is it bad to paint the rusty bits on the disc, since it's not the actual disc itself? I do want to get rid of the rust somehow, but not sure how to go about it. Would like to make it black, match the rest of the black and gold theme i got lol.
  10. Just did mine turned out awesome Stripped and Sanded down After final coat Rims back on Yehhh buddy!!
  11. yep, i'll go to supercheap tomorrow and bleed out the brake system. Do I do it for all 4 wheels, and then fill up the master cylinder with brake fluid? Also, just re-iterating my question, what is the best method to open up the pistons to allow the brakes to fit in well, as well as the shims. To be honest, I didn't put the shims back in because it just wouldn't fit. But i really want to get it in there to stop the very minor squealing I'm getting when braking at low speeds. Cheers
  12. oh ok, thanks for the info. What is the best way to hold back the pistons? I pretty much just pushed it back by levering it (very carefully) using a scrwdriver. Yeh i know it definately is not the best way, but i had nothing else on me at the time.
  13. Yeh, i didn't know how to do it hence why i asked lol. I want to learn. I watched lots of videos and how to's, but most of them were taking the caliper off, and i know skylines you can do it without having to take it off. Anyways, I followed the first few steps of this guide http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/231627-r34-gtt-front-rotor-and-pad-replacement/ and worked really well. It was a struggle getting the old pads off, they had the extra metal plates behind them and made a tight fit. After a bit of fiddling around, i got them off. Had to push the pistons around to fit the new pads in though lol so annoying! I do have a question though. Are the extra metal plates (i think they're called shims?) necessary? Like do i need to put them back onto the new pads? If so, how would i go about doing that, since it was incredibly tight enough fitting the new ones ON!
  14. lol that's the thread i was referring to when i said pics are dead. Are the 32 pads same as 34?
  15. I just bought new brake pads for my 34 gtt (fronts), but i can't seem to find a step-by step-for it. Just wondering if anyone could provide me with one (photo's recomennded, im a visual learner lol) or link me to one? I did find an old thread on how to do it, but the pics are dead and i dont want to stuff it up, because they are the things making me stop and not crash my car! Cheers!
  16. So i got my new varrstoen 2.2.0 wheels the other week, but i had to get a bit curb happy and now one of them have gutter rash around the lip! Heaps devastated It's the matte black colour ON a black car, so i'm pretty annoyed. Anyone know what the best option is to get it fixed up? Would bogging it and sanding it back down, then matte black spray cover it? I've heard matte black resprays look crap, so any other options? I was thinking plastidip.....maybe? cheers
  17. yeh re upload pics please! i dont know what to look for lol
  18. I'm getting my new rims coming in this week, but just wondering how much (approximately) it would be to have the old rims taken off and putting the new ones on the same tyres? I haven't called any shops yet, and it's a bit late now because it's already late-ish on a sunday arvo. thanks!
  19. so pretty much saying 9 would be safest option right? (well safest if the only 2 options were 9 or 9.5 lol) I'll go with 9 thanks for the help guys
  20. I'm going to be purchasing new rims, but I was just wondering if my 235mm wide tyres will fit onto a 9.5" rim, or will it be stretching it too much? Would it be safer to stretch it a little bit to 9" instead? Also, what is the stud pattern for a 98' r34 GT-T? is it 5x114.3? thanks!
  21. oh ok, sweet thanks for the info. So with the sizes you mentioned, I won't need any rolling of guards either?
  22. ok i got my car lowered using the ultra low king springs and it rides comfortably. Now that i got paid (lol), my next step is to order these varrstoen bad boys. SO, new questions: Will i have any problems fitting 17X9(or9.5) +12 or +22's? Which offset would you guys recommend for my concave desire? lol thanks
  23. Im looking to buy a black r34 GT-T Top Secret front bumper (with lip if you have, but not a necessity). Please pm me if anyone has one for sale! thanks!
