  1. Wow! There is some awesome stuff going into this car. What diff are you running at the moment?
  2. Looks clean man. What are your plans?
  3. Heya, I have owned my r34 for almost a year but never really started a build thread so with a box of stuff to put in and and some other stuff on the way I thought now would be a good time. It's a 1999 R34 GTT. It needed some TLC but I have really stared to enjoy owning it. Never owned a skyline before but I really like this. Mods that were on it when I got it: HKS air filter Front mount intercooler Walbro fuel pump BC coilovers Some neglected Volk Challenges (i kind of love them though, something about the style) Running standard boost. First thing I did was a super dooper mega major service. I did front and rear pads and rotors, waterpump, greddy timing belt, plugs, cam and crank seals, half moon seals and rocker cover gaskets. Also replaced heaps of the rubber joints and vacuum lines. Was good fun. Got bored one night with a mate and went nuts with the some paint Over the last month or some I have been collecting some bit and pieces to replace worn out steering and suspension. I also have a pair of red SR3's out of an integra on the way too. Probably have done more stuff too it I just can't think at the moment. Worked almost 14 days of 5am starts =\ 5 days off now. Time to play cars.
  4. Hey all, I'm chasing a pair of bride or recaro rails to suit a pair of SR3 recaros I just got to fit in my R34 GTT Just shoot me a PM if you can help me out.
  5. It was at the lights at the civic end of belco way heading towards the uni, I turned off at those light because I decided to go the other way home for fun.
  6. Will take 2500 without all the extra stuff of 3500 with it.
  7. no!youcan'tdoanythingfunanymore
  8. Spotted a purple r33 leaving the city (trozzle?) and a burgundy R33 on William Hovell and had a mini cruise. Just near the end the rozzers came over the hill coming the other way, saw the lights come on and assumed they were pulling me over but they flew past me after someone else
  9. Hey all, I'm chasing a pair or red recaros to chuck in my car. If you know of any drop me a line. Cheers, Andy B
  10. Has anyone got a timing light I can borrow tomorrow or thursday?
  11. FOR SALE: 1984 MX73 Toyota Cressida GLXi Location: ACT Asking Price: $4,000 ONO Killometer's: 160,000 Transmission: 4 Speed Automatic (recently had a major service with new torque converter) Engine Type: 5ME AWWWW YEAH! Runs fine however the only issue I have ever had with it is that the valve stem seals are a little worn and it blows a bit of smoke if sitting for a little while or if it hasn't been started in a while. Modifications: 2.5'' exhaust with up swept twin tips (a little loud but sounds pretty nice), New Eaton TrueTrac LSD (I has a major service done on the diff when this was put in as well), slightly lower springs from AJPS with 7kg in the front and 5kg in the rear. Registration: Not at the moment as I haven't driven it the last 9 months. I will chuck 3 or 6 months rego on it in the next couple of weeks. Crash History: No Accident History however there is a dent on the bonnet from a drongo woman putting her christmas shopping on it while loading it into her car which I can hopefully get fixed by the local PDR guy. Faults: The only things wrong with it are really small things. The automatic aerial mast is broken so the aerial doesn't go up and down. Shocks are feeling a little bit worn since I had the springs put in, nothing major just a bit of roll. There are a few knicks in the paint work but everything is tidy and straight. Other Comment's about the vehicle: Car is a great daily, I drove it ever day for 2 years after I got it off my old man who owned it for years and was going to turn it into a shakotan/boso cruiser however I bought an R34 and it got put on the back burner. Since then I have moved into a smaller place and just don't have room for it anymore and need the money for a house deposit or ring. Other things I have done in the time owning it is put in a new radiator and power steering rack and had a major service done on the auto box with a new torque converter as it just felt old. Other than that I have kept it regularly serviced and it has run like a dream and never given me any troubles. The car will also come with: A set of 15x6.5 SSR MK1's. An average condition set of Work Ewing mesh with some skid worthy tyres. Front lip i got from japan and just haven't pained and fitted to the car, I might end up fitting it before it sells. I also have some other bits and pieces I collected like rings for the front hubs for the 300zx brake conversion, front strut brace from the rex kellway group buy on here a while ago, a clutch pedal and a few other bits i started collecting for a manual gearbox conversion probably some other bits and pieces too. Contact Details: Andy B 0420 861 364 (message before calling as I am a shift worker and work weird hours) or just shoot me a PM I will chuck up some pics of the mesh rims and front lip later tonight.
  12. I'm still looking if anyone has one.
  13. If people are heading somewhere tonight I'm keen.
  14. Thanks heaps. Appreciate it. That explains why my diff is so crap
  15. Hey all, Not sure if this belongs in the drivetrain section or here but I thought because changing diff oil is general maintenance here would work. I am going to do my gearbox and diff oil and while looking on here for suggestions for what oils to use I came across a few threads saying there was a difference in the LSD's for series 1 and 2 for the R34 GTT's. I thought they all had helical LSD but a couple of threads I came across said the series 1 had a viscous LSD. So confused right now as I am finding conflicting information. I guess I really have 2 questions. 1. Can anyone confirm if a 1999 manual R34 GTT uses a helical or viscous LSD? 2. What would be the best oils to use for each diff? I was going to use Motul Gear 300 for moth gearbox and diff but I l'll hold off on buying as much as I was going to if the diff needs a different oil. Cheers, Andy
  16. ...Also spotted a black 33GTR I think in watson on the way to work the other day around 1pm and today a white 33 with a black bonnet around midday on the way to the city near the parkway.
  17. I might come out for a bit.
  18. I'm chasing a good condition carpet for my R34. I am hoping there is someone out there wrecking one and wants to sell me the carpet. If there is someone close by that would be great. I am located in the ACT, Hopefully one of you can help me out. Either reply here or shoot me a pm. Cheers, Andy B
  19. NWA once wrote a song about this.
  20. Intradesting. Thanks for the replies guys. A gearbox is really something I want to have done right. I'm going to pull my box off and have a looksee and do my rear main, replace some bearings and realign my clutch and see if that stops the rattle. I was considering having my syncros replaced but from what you have all told me and from some mates I have asked the last day or so I think I might be going on a little holiday. I appreciate the honest input. Cheers
  21. Thrust was the one I meant. Yeah. I think I will get it checked out. If it seems pretty bad I'll rip the box out and have it looked at in details. Thanks guys.
