it looks like i might need a puller but im hesitant ot use a claw one on a cam gear. I don't want to chip the teeth or anything.

got someone to hold a shifter with a bar on it on the cam and got it off however the VCT/cam gear assembly doesn't want to come off. I Tried a wooden wedge but it just flexed the backing plate more than anything, I even tried tapping lightly with a hammer and no luck. I shouldn't have to loosen the front cap should i?

Sweet. Is there a specific torque or will FT (F%^&@G tight) do? Thanks.

Hey everyone. So i'm doing a massive service and I'm taking off the cam gears to do cam seals. I got the exhaust gear off fine but the VCT on the intake had an 8mm hex which i took of but it was more like a cap and there appears to be another hex behind it a bit larger, maybe a 10mm I think it was. It seems on there pretty tight, a lot tighter than the 4 bolts for the exhaust cam. Now before i go messing around is this the one i need to remove to pull the vct stuff off or is there another sneaky thing I need to do and if so when i put it back what do i torque it up to? The workshop manual doesn't have breakdown procedures for things which sucks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Andy

Got heaps done on the car today. Everything is off the front, just need to get the cam gear and vct off so I can do cam seals and put everything back together. Just need to get a seal puller tomorrow morning to get the crank seal out, that sucker is in there tight. Bent my pick trying to get it out, Hopefully I can get it all done before 7pm tomorrow otherwise i'll have to finish it after work on Wednesday.

Hey all, I have some gauges that I havent really used and need the cash to buy other stuff I can use more. 3 x 60mm STRI DSD gauges Oil pressure, Water Temp and Turbos Boostzor. As new still in boxes. Only opened to read instructions because all my books are boring. There are pretty much Defi gauges, all electronic sensons, recall feature, abbility to set warning levels, they even do a little dance when you start your car. Black face with while LED. $250 will get you all 3. What they look like BUY BUY BUY Andy B

Eat clean, smash water all the time. Try and aim for at least 3 litres a day. Try and eat little and often. When you train like everyone has said before work on compound lifts like squats and deadlifts but like 25gtt mentiouned get someone to show you good form right because deadlifts and even squats with bad form can ruin you back bad. Start with quite easy weights until you get good form and work up slowly. I usually finish off a workout with some cardio like 1k on a rower or 1k on the treadmill or even look into some high intensity interval training.
