  1. So got it tuned friday, then lost power sat. New pump and retune yesterday. Red run is the new one, peak power very slightly down but curve much better
  2. Turned out to be the fuel pump...phew Bonus retune shows a better cure (red run)
  3. Part of the thought process. made up a bypass for the safc for the tuner to see if it is the problem and if so will be removed. Nistune is better however they are also not problem free, especially since you need to modifiy a z32 ecu.
  4. Pulled apart the ecu just on the off chance its had its micro replaced, still factory
  5. Okay cool well ill be making a list for my tuner of what ive have done/ what it might be ill add that too.
  6. Yep will be doing that first thing tomorrow
  7. Ah lame, i just dont understand why my AFRs were lean prior to tuning, if the fuel pump was dieing, then would it be able to supply more fuel when being fooled by the safc. The green run shows no correction and a rather lean AFR. the tuner had to increase the afm signal rather than trim it which is highly unusual. I think this is connected to my current problem
  8. Thats a good point, i did talk my tuner yesterday and he was watching the knock values. also thinking it may be the fuel pressor regulator, as it did have some dirty fuel 9 months ago, could have clogged to some degree and now with the higher boost cleaned up a bit. Would explain the lean afrs prior to tuning.
  9. Update: So started taking things apart, all spark plugs were a dark medium brown/tan/earthy colour not too worried as i put in a bottle of octane boost prior to tune intending to reduce possible knock, however found out after that it can actually increase it. Also two of the spark plugs had shit on the outside however i dont think the were seated correctly/ washer wasn't flat. Replaced the fuel fikter too and dropped oil for good measure. Cleaned a few sensors afm/cas/throttle. Took for a spin all the same still smooth just lacking power. I did notice however that it did pull a bit harder with say 2/3 throttle or at least it didnt pull much harder between 2/3 and WOT. Was watching the knock sensore like a hawk and was fine.
  10. Nah it doesnt unfortunately afm interceptor only.
  11. Yeah should be good hopfully its a fuel pump ir something easy enough
  12. Well it will be getting checked out on wednesday. Guess you will have to wait to see if this turn into a trillogy.
  13. Yeah that the plan hope to get it on this week. When you hit high knock did you hear anything Yeah that the plan hope to get it on this week. When you hit high knock did you hear anything
  14. Hey guys just got my car tuned with a piggy back safc 2 and went to a mates property to test it out, and i reached the speed limiter, was soft i didnt notice it was speed limiting for a second. I did check the SAFC max hold knock value and it was like 120 however i didnt hear any bad sound or noises it simply stopped accelerating. However after that the next time i went to boost it wasnt as quick. The car still holds boost and no bad sounds/smoke or missing. It is still as smooth as before but its like its lost 30kw throughout the rev range. Could it be stuck in its knock map, because i cant think what else it could be? Im going to lay off boosting it and have set a warning value for the knock to see if its recuring till ive sorted it out. cheers
  15. Yeah thats what i was assuming, cheers
  16. i am not complaining saying "why isnt my graph perfect" i know what an SAFC does and that its not as good as a standalone, but they have been proven to produce good results for my modifications. So if any people with previous experince having SAFCs it would be most appreciated.
  17. Sorry here is the graph with the AFRS
  18. Hey guys got my car tuned today with my recently installed safc 2. Running a turbotech v2 boost controller. Some strange things going on here 1. AFRs lean initially even though SAFC 2 was setup for no correction 2. I set the boost the night before on 11psi but first run shows levels just under 9psi and then it goes to 11 again after. Is this the tuner removing it initially to minimise risk of problems before tuning. 3. Graph on initial run is much smoother than the final tune the hump at the end is my main concern, is this just the limit of the safc adjusting fuel and effecting timing or bad tuning or something else.as.i notice the boost drops off then almost mirroring the peak hump. It just seems weird to me besides the AFRS are better.the boost, power and torque curves look better on the initial run.
  19. Yeah im an electronics tech so was hoping.it was some crazy oddity. But nope 4 hrs was just a super shitty coincidence
  20. hey guys was fitting a cold air box for my pod filter last night. and in the process had to disconnect and reconnect the ac condenser plug in the engine bay. Immediatley after i started getting the climate control clunk. Is there a certain mode the climate control needs to be in before the plug connects or is it pure coincidence and just bad luck. cheers
  21. yeah i thought it was good too i will post results, booked thus friday
  22. hey guys just installed my apexi safc 2 in my r33. and looking into getting it tuned to run 10-12psi. has 3c4 smic and turboback. got a quote from esp $165 which seems about right for a piggyback. any places people would recommend or avoid. cheers patrick
  23. Yeah thanks for your responses
